A good idea, the tutorial somewhat dense and confusing, but quickly understood. The problem is the difficulty curve, the second level is very complex compared to the first. : D

lucisaurus 2020-04-20 22:56

Ahhhh I wish I could play more of this game!! I mean, I suck at games and with this one I cannot make it though the second level. It's really cute tho! Maybe I would have made it a bit easier for the first couple of levels for useless designers like me who cannot play but they want to? Such a great concept, super cute design and works great on my Mac!

hiisileiri 2020-04-20 23:10

Fun game and good idea! Cool candy-like graphics. Negative things: no idea how stuff works (trampoline slings character forward; the preconception is that the main direction is to throw things up). Flowerpots on the level and other hazards are too small and/or un-noticeable, which is frustrating feature. Also character is moving too fast on the first of the levels in game. Also i hope adding the objects by the player would follow the basic grid system.

But, these are the only some introduction problems for the players; the overall game concept is excellent!

fax 2020-04-21 17:12

Hello Noobs ! Very good entry for this Jam. As mentionned, the difficulty curve is pretty hard but, i like the way we can retry again and again in order to finish levels. Great jobs, aesthetics are awesome.

caeonosphere 2020-04-22 03:39

Yeah, I too had trouble with the second level. You gotta place that yarn and spring so fast! The rest of the level isn't bad, except you can avoid spending resources if you're tricky.

I also ran into a bug where I restarted the second level too much times, which caused a message bubble from the previous level to pop up somehow, and I couldn't dismiss it? Very strange. Then I had to go back to the home screen and it hadn't saved my progress. :|

Anyway, I did like the twist on platforming! It had an Incredible Machine feel to it.

number6406 2020-04-22 21:38

Thank you all for you feedbacks ! It's really motivating

@darkfire92 : Got it ! This is the most common feedback you have got. We should add some intermediary levels with long platforms and more time to interact with objects

@lucisaurus : I wish you also could ! We knew the level 3 was a bit more difficult, but as we played a lot our game during the development we thought the level 2 was "easy" to pass. Thanks for letting us know it works perfectly on Mac, we haven't tested it yet !

@hiisileiri : I'm not sure I have understood everything about the things that are frustrating, but yeah, the traps are a bit too small. We'll work on this for a post-jam version ! The trampoline gives the player an up and forward impulse so he can jump over a hole or on an higher platform. Concerning the object placements, we don't really like the idea of making a grid system, we prefer the user to be free to place them anywhere on the map, so it can be "pixel-perfect" and optimise the run. However we have to work on the first levels so the player have time to place items prior to be lost because of all the actions he has to execute... Thank you a lot for your relevant feedback :)

@fax : Thank you a lot, we'll take care about the difficulty curve :)

@caeonosphere : Thank you for this information about this bug, we'll try to find the origin and fix it :) We don't have a saving system for now unfortunately... I didn't know about Incredible Machine, I'll have a look at this, cheers

masterpose 2020-04-22 22:41

The game is pretty fun and challenging and the art is cute and well made. I think the difficulty is okay because I like challenges, so maybe you could put a difficulty selection window to please all the players :D

number6406 2020-04-22 22:46

@masterpose Yes, choosing the difficulty is a good idea ! Let's make a Demonic one for you then :grinning: Thank you for playing our game and for your feedback !

goutye 2020-04-24 02:13

Excellent mechanics, and wonderful graphics. Completed all 3 levels, after around 10 tries for level 2 and 3! :sparkler: I was wondering why it was getting so difficult from level 2, but the answer was simple: Only 3 levels, so the difficulty curve has to be very steep. I think, with 4 more levels that slowly introduce one mechanic after the other, and then stepping up the difficulty for each would have been awesome! But hey, for a JAM 72h game, that's a wonderful concept you have there! :v: :smile_cat:

number6406 2020-04-24 18:59

@goutye : Thanks for your feedback! Perseverance is the key

We hope to create a lot more levels with various items for an even more enjoyable gameplay for a complete game, yes

Cheers again!

michael-gosling 2020-04-26 18:50

Thank you for exporting to many platforms, my and my Mac appreciate it :)

The game itself is fantastically done, very polished, nice animations, nice graphic work, nice music. There's nothing to say except congrats on the wonderful job.

stefan-laimer 2020-04-26 19:04

That's a pretty cool game. Nice clean art, cool music, not too easy and not too hart. Well done! I really liked the tutorial.

One issue that I found is that you just lose items if you click the button multiple times. And it would be really nice if you could press 1 and 2 to select the items. Because if you have to click it and then click to place it, it can get pretty hectic.

But it's a really solid game, good job!

mykola 2020-04-26 19:09

Amazing game, it definitely deserves more ratings!

I loved the mood. Art was awesome and music and sound effects fitted right in. I really appreciate the UI animations and transitions, they make the menu alive. The way you present the tutorial to the player is great, there are little number of games in this jam that have a tutorial at all, but you're the first team to use such an immersive way to present it. Helps a lot to understand the rules. The game and level design are very good, it starts simple but I did spend sime time to get through the last level. The only thing I would comment is that you seemed to focus more on the speed challenge while I would expect more of a puzzle challenge in such a game. Overall, I believe it's a solid base for a very fun game! Great job making it in just three days, you deserve the highest ratings!

number6406 2020-04-26 19:41

Thank you for your feedback @michael-gosling  We haven't made the music, we hope to be able to have our own on a future release!

Thanks for your report @stefan-laimer , we'll make sure it's not present in a final release  Glad you liked our game! We will also add the mechanic of choosing the item with the keyboard, even if we aim to launch it on mobile with a different way to place them.

Thank you a lot @mykola , your feedback gives us a lot of motivation! We will consider adding some puzzle levels in a post-jam version. It could be very interesting! :grinning:

gus-the-shark 2020-04-26 20:08

Wow, short and sweet! Graphics and overall feel are amazing, good choice of audio too. I wish there were more levels, but more importantly, I wish you could pause the game and then place the items or at least slow down the game. I was able to beat 3 levels in almost 1 try each (fell once in 2nd level), but holy cow its a stressful game haha. I think non-gamers will find the gameplay difficult and frustrating. Anyway, it does not take away from the quality of your game. The polish is really impressive, I appreciate the menu animations, dialogue screens and other UI elements. Well done mate!

norris-eldridge 2020-04-26 20:11

Really charming graphics and music and the concept is really unique too! Well done on this one :)

maytch 2020-04-26 20:12

Wow really pretty and clean, and a cool concept too. I also wish I had number keys to use, OR drag and release with the mouse instead of clicking to place the item, or both! Great job!

massealex 2020-04-26 20:13

I liked the mood and the cute graphics! The tutorial was great too. But the challenge went up too fast after level 1. More easier levels between level 1 and 2 could have been nice! Other than that, bravo les gens!

mykola 2020-04-26 20:17

@number6406 glad to hear it! Do tag me once the post-jam version is out, I'll be looking forward to it!

dummydojo 2020-04-26 20:27

Cool vibe and art. The cat moved too fast though. Couldn't get past level 4. Felt more like a reaction game rather than a puzzle game. Also, you should just automatically restart the level after pressing the restart button rather than going to the level title screen. I can see this as a solid mobile puzzle game.

paulhocker 2020-04-26 20:48

I really liked this game but I found the controls to be very challenging. I think perhaps a better alternative would be for you to have the positions of the elements preselected, and have the player choose the correct item at the correct time. Kind of like guitar hero, but without the music. thanks for making it.

firellon 2020-04-27 21:04

Really like the artstyle and the idea!

The implementation, however... It's a bit too fast for me, to be honest. I just could not manage to put everything in there on lv.3 in time

Perhaps, if I'd have hotkeys, I would be able to, but mouse's way too slow for our cat.

Still, rated it high and wish you all the best with this nice and solid entry!

igor-kingamer 2020-04-28 22:00

Very nice game!

The flower pots are a little hard to spot when you're looking at other traps, maybe they should glow or something.

Don't know if it's intentional, but you can place springs in the air and make the cat double-jump (before the spring falls).

Also, I agree the level should restart right when you click the restart button. The thing I missed the most was being able to choose items with the keyboard – and maybe this will solve the first issue I mentioned, as you won't need to look at the items.

floyams 2020-05-04 14:42

Kind of hard but funny :)

number6406 2020-05-09 15:20

Sorry for answering y'all so much time after, I've been a lot busy these last days  Thank you all for reaching the 30 votes!

@gus-the-shark Unfortunately the music isn't ours so we didn't ask for votes concerning it. In the future release we'll lower the difficulty for the first levels! Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Thank you @norris-eldridge :kissing_cat:

We will take your feedback in account @maytch , drag and drop could be very interesting for a mobile release! Cheers!

"Merci" ! @massealex

Sure @mykola , I will try to remember :stuck_out_tongue:

Level 4 @dummydojo ? I guess you're strong as there only have 3 levels  Having puzzles wasn't our first idea. We aimed for an arcade game, I guess. But it could be a great idea to implement this kind of levels as parallel challenges for the player

Alright @paulhocker , we will pay special attention to the controls! However we aren't very fan of pre-selected positions, it doesn't allow the player to make up it's own solution for a level... Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you for playing and rating and giving us a feedback @firellon , sorry it was a bit difficult for you :scream_cat:

Cheers @igor-kingamer ! A lot of persons report us it was difficult to spot the flower, we will think about a solution for this  Yes, it is desired to be able to drop items in the air, so you can combine them to be able to double/triple etc. jump if you time it well. Yes, having two clicks in order to restart the game is too long ^^

Thanks @floyams !

macabreartgames 2020-05-10 22:18

Man, I didn't play this like I'm trying have an idea about it. I found myself playing it actually. It has very natural feeling. Very good game really. Everything in it just fits its content. Well done. I wish there was keyboard buttons to switch between items. If there was I didn't notice.

deakcor 2020-05-10 22:25

Hey @macabreartgames, thank you for you feedback. In fact, we didn't have keyboard shortcuts but we will sure add them in the post jam version as it has been lot asked to us. :smile_cat:

magus24 2020-05-11 00:24

good entry, graphics and music are very good, the difficulty is a little high but you can enjoy it, I like the concept and the game is simple and fun. the UI is clean and very useful

number6406 2020-05-11 07:33

Thanks for your feedback @magus24 !
