Am I dumb, or is the game not available on itch.io?
Same issue as Billnotic here - there's no link to play on the itch.io page!
Still without any download link =c
No way to play the game; just an info page.
Yeah - no access to the game here either
So sorry about the download issue It wasn't public for some reason. I fixed it now.
This game looks really cool (and the art style is matching my own LD48 game), if you don't mind me asking, what was your canvas size for each room? I really wish I had access to a Windows machine so I could try it! Any chance you would consider publishing for the web if your engine supports it?
The graphics are quite nice! You got a nice variety of sprites in there and the characters have a decent amount of style despite being pretty pixelated.
Unfortunately I don't quite understand what's I'm supposed to do, and it seems a bit buggy. It seems like going through the door causes the room contents to shuffle (it's visually jarring to see things move around as that happens) but pressing E to "Loot" things mostly does nothing? At some point it looked like I had looted a gun, and then later on I think I looted bullets and it overwrote the gun in my first inventory slot? So in practice, I just had to wander back and forth between randomized rooms until the zombie guy randomly showed up and stabbed me to insanity...
It feels like the start of a good game, but maybe you didn't get far enough in 48 hours to make it really work?
I like the idea. Looting and finding stuff is great. The graphics are nice as well. The sprites look great.
I was pretty lost pretty much the entire time. I couldn't find the killer again after I found the gun and bullets. I went through the door a whole ton of times unfortunately he never appeared. As others have pointed out, items in the room moved around each time I went through the door which was very jarring to me. I think the looting mechanic needs some feedback on if the player didn't find anything. I wasn't sure if I was still looting or if it bugged out.
But overall I think you have a good base of a game that could be something really solid if you iron out a bunch of these kinks. I think the premise of what it should be sits well with me and would be something I would really enjoy. But you did get the game out in 48 hours and for that I say good job and congratulations! That is not an easy feat! Cheers.
Scarry game, I like it. It would have been good to have an indication of how close the was and a progress bar for the looting.
