Cool to see another strategy game in the jam. Nice work.

I don't play a lot of RTSs, but this seems really impressive given the time constraint! The graphics look nice and the music sets a really nice ambience. I had some difficulty moving around the map and clicking on units since they move so fast, but that may just be my inexperience. Great job!

This is crazy impressive for a jam game! Especially since there seems to actually be an AI at work behind the enemies. I honestly don't have anything to complain about here. Really well done!

Immersive game!

I played this one on stream last night! unfortunately the VOD got muted, so no link :(

I only played for a bit, I think I got to the point where I had around ~6000 ore at my peak?

The game started to have some performance problems at that point in the browser, so I'm not sure if I was playing correctly if the goal is 100,000

The mechanics all seemed to work well - I think the only thing that bothered me was that it was hard to select particular types of units. I kept accidentally grouping up my miners and interceptors on the same square, and they got really difficult to separate

cool game!

Absolutely love the music and the overall mood!

OOOh i Love jam strategy games, rare jewels that stand out in a sea of platformers and action flicks) The only complaint i have is that the fighters alwasy stack up on one pos, a little inconvenient. Great one.

I played a LOT of StarCraft 1.. This has the same feel :D Enjoyed immensely. Nice moody music, love graphics. Very nice job

Making an entire strategy game like this is super impressive, and there's a decent amount to do as well, which is even more awesome. As other people said, the music is nice, it fits really well.

My only complaint is the balance felt a little off, because it felt a little too easy at times. I didn't do a good job at defending my base or scouting, but I was able to win a bunch of the fights.

With a little expansion and some balancing, I would totally play more of this. Thanks for making it :)

Really liked it, played it on my stream

Solid entry. Took a while to win, but i was successful in the end. Just had to power up my mining and stop picking fights!2022-10-08 14_24_38-Battle of Nephthys _ ldjam.com _ Ludum Dare game jam.png

Love seeing RTSs in jams! I felt really quickly overwhelmed by the enemies, even after establishing thirty turrets. I might have just been bat at the game...

keip 2022-10-09 01:46

reminds me of some games. but nicely done

Pretty cool, I wish I'd read the intsructions now, I didn't know I could do more with the units and thought they were fairly autonomous. I got wrecked by a single enemy ship coming in and wasting all my mining stations, even with the defence towers / interceptors

epicgamefan 2022-10-09 02:41

Fun time! I really enjoyed the sound effects and the atmosphere music. At first I wished I could zoom out, but ended up liking the restriction, gives that old school RTS feel.

outfrost 2022-10-09 03:43

Nice throwback to oldschool RTSes. The gameplay was immediately familiar, and the graphics really fit. Props for the strategic depth of the long-term gameplay goal of gathering 100k ore. Congrats on making this happen in compo!

I wish the audio was properly attenuable; unfortunately I had to play it muted as the sfx were painfully loud. I also would've liked some kind of collision on the units, or perhaps a number overlay, so I could tell at a glance how many units are in one spot.

This looks quite nice but I can't play longer than a minute or so. Then the game mysteriously pauses.. I can still build buildings but the units don't move any longer.

dingledorf 2022-10-09 07:30

Really cool game! Unfortunately for me the game paused itself (possible crash?) once I reached the ~8k resources mark; I could still scroll around but I couldn't interact with anything, nothing moved, and the music stopped. Otherwise it was a really well-done experience; I really liked the mood set by the music, the gameplay itself was tight, and the sfx were tastefully done.

A very ambitious project. Love the base building and expansion phase. The UI works fine and selecting and ordering units, too.

There are only a few things which could be improved: 1) Stop units from stacking on top of each other. 2) Add a unit cap and add construction time. 3) Add projectiles and explosions.

I think with those changes, this game could be really awesome and strategic. Right now, you can just create a new base and create a massive amount of fighters to defend it. Right now it took me quite a while to get to 100'000 that way and it was quite uneventful.

frank-gevaerts 2022-10-11 15:24

Very impressive! I've never been good at RTSes so I kept losing, but I still had fun doing it :)

someone 2022-10-15 17:51

That was fun. Solid RTS mechanics with a fair amount of content. Definitely in need of balancing though. Once you get past the first couple of minutes, new units are essentially free. The resource nodes never seem to run out. Being able to hold shift to place multiple buildings would have been nice. Making doomstacks of hundreds of units was fun. It would have been nice to display how many fighters were selected so you can see how big a stack actually is, or make them not stack. My new goal was to take over the entire map before I inevitably hit the win screen. I had to stop making collectors. Untitled.png
