life changing bro
Well done! Lots of tricky jumps that I barely managed. Not bad for your first LD game. Not much to say here. The controls were frustrating but I think it's supposed to be like that.
I like it! I also worked alone on my game ^^
This is perfect to remind me I love platformers but I am utterly bad at them xD Very good take for a first-time game jam, especially since you are solo! Controls are minimal but they work smoothly. What you see is what you get, the game never crashes, so well done mate. I'd suggest you to plan some checkpoints next time, to make the experience a bit less frustrating. Also don't forget to add any sound/music, even if you don't create it yourself: we won't rate you for it but the games get more fun to play :D
Congrats on the first game, since you asked for criticizing I will provide. To me this felt like a precise platformer but the bounds for the character felt weird in combination with extremely short flat areas in certain parts. The camera was too zoomed in for most of the level as there were quite a few drops that required almost blindly jumping in, same goes for ascending. The text in certain area felt a bit weird but then (at least I did) you have go back to deliver the single food back, it was just a bit of a weird combination.
For a first go, not bad at all. Have seen many worse games, and some of them didn't even launch.
Great courage to start this alone! Much better than my first game haha But yeah the obvious things the text in the beginning is covered by the player. I also dind't get the goal of the game :D
Unfortunately the game crashes on startup for me. It might be because I'm not running Windows so I have to run the game through Wine.
:) Very cool game! I like the guidance text. But the difficulty ramps up a bit too fast! Pro tip: Always make a game-jam game easier than you think it should be! The best platformers out there, with famous difficulties, have a lot more polish to the edge-cases with their movement mechanics. But these controls still feel pretty good overall! Just a bit hard to make some of the jumps consistently. Nice pixels!
Everything is frustrating except for when you pick up the items that is very smooth extremly well done on that
Good job for one person!
impressive for one person !
One person made this?? Dang bro, you should participate in more game jams you got the right skill. Good luck in the future
Interesting and atmospheric characters. The platforming is quite challenging in places, at times it feels like you need near pixel‑perfect jumps to make it. It's great that there are hints showing when a required item is nearby, that gives a clear local objective. The game is very atmospheric, great work!
The art is pretty nice but the later platforming feels a bit too hard for me. There's also some jank with the food pickup that made my 2nd food straight up disappear. Overall it's good effort. Nice work on completing this project alone!
Nice one! I'd recommend uploading screenshots on the game page, I think more people are likely to try it out that way
Your jumping system is something else... I struggled to much and couldn't reath the third berry But graphics is good
