excellent!
Overall a really solid game, I wish there was more content but I can understand the time constraints. Really nice artwork and music, very good one!
You should probably remove the "/edit" from your LD link in itch.io.
@arzi what do you mean?
It links to to the edit page.
Solid game. There are a lot of LD games now, that focus on sacrificing your weapon, but this one does this really well. I quite enjoyed the combat, even though the weapons felt very similar. Nice job!
Good game, it plays nicely and music is very atmospheric!
I think you fitted the music very well to your chosen setting, as well as graphic style. Unfortunatelly I didn't quite get the proper timing and rhythm of combat, probably more visual and sound clues could help with that. I also was getting stuck between serpents and on the corners more than I would like to, but maybe that was just design decision that did not resonate with me. Overall very solid entry!
PS: If you make a webGL/HTML5 build and put it on itch.io, you probably will get lots more ratings as it will be less complicated for people to try your game ;)
Awesome mood! The music fitted right in. The only extra thing I could ask for from this game is for death effects. As it stands, the deaths felt pretty boring. There could also be more variety in the enemies, currently the simple enemy is a bit plain.
@honey there is a HTML5 build, check itch page. @justcamh we know that only one enemy is not enough for this type of game, but we just didn't had time to make more. But the feedback that you and other guys leaving, gives us an inspiration for making this entery into a full game, maybe we will do this if game get's good ratings. Thank you all for your positive feedback. This is so far the best jam I've ever entered(don't know about others)
@chaosthelegend Oh, sorry, then it must have been some other problem, now the html5 version runs okay, so I'm not really sure why I downloaded the standalone, sorry for confusion :)
Cool game! The strategy in choosing what color weapon to sacrifice was interesting - definitely feels neat to sacrifice a weapon knowing you'll be strong against the enemies next time. I found it a little strange though that some weapons (the really slow double-ended spear thing in particular) just do a ton more damage, as that kinda downplayed the rock-paper-scissors effect. Sadly after a few attempts I never managed to get a weapon different from the starter (aside from various colors) before I died. I do think a mini-map or dedicated pop-over map would have been very useful, as I found myself getting lost and doing a lot of backtracking.
Anyway, I liked the notion here and had fun even with the limited amount of content that's here. Love the music!
I found this a little difficult to get into. Starting out I don't feel I had enough knowledge to get very far. I really enjoyed the bow but it seemed like it didn't do very much and I didn't have any feedback that it was doing anything until I had shot what felt like 5 or 6 arrows at one of the small red serpents. I found this on itch initially and initially and with very little info on that page and no tutorial in game I felt a little lost. I should have looked here first though apparently!! A fun entry that I am glad I played, thank you for sharing your work.
thanks @justcamh and @babyking for your feedback, we are currently taking a break from LD and will work on a post-morthem versions in 2019. We will take into account all mistakes that you've supported and try to make a game more understandable and playable for others. Me and my teammates are really proud that you've found our game interesting and enjoyable, this really means a lot for us
