Nice animations! I would love to be able to move with the keyboard. Also there are some graphical problems with widescreen but no biggie!

your art style is fantastic, I like the mini gnome
@kodingnights oh golly! Thanks for pointing this out!
Also, I originally had keyboard but people had different assumptions for what direction should be what on the isometric grid, so I scrapped it.
@jellybean thank you!
Great entry!

The art and music style were bursting with personality. I loved all the little UI bounces and movements. The combat was really simple, but it was a very satisfying game loop to kill some veggies, buy some gear, and repeat until you're a tiny death machine clad in god-mail.
I will say the movement upgrades are way more important early on than everything else. My first run I picked up armor first, then died to carrots. My second run I picked up the basic boots and did much better.
I liked the variety of equipment, particularly the weapons, which are often not strictly better but have strengths and weaknesses (of course the shotgun was definitely the standout pick once you're upgraded enough).
Fifteen days did feel a touch long, since I was fully upgraded since round 10 or so. A nice feature could have been one-time use items in the shop so you could still do things with your money the last few turns.
I loved the visual, audio, and mood change between the day and night cycles.
Great work on this!
@jeremy-ryan thank you very much!
This game have kept me hooked for much longer than I anticipated! Simple idea and great implementation! I love the pixel style of your games, so clean and so clear. Music and sound design fit well with gameplay, I especially enjoyed the music.
And as for gameplay, it's pretty fun and challenging. I didn't expect ranged combat to change the way I play completely, from sitting in one place hitting all the enemies I can, to constantly jumping around and trying to spot the things that can hurt me and shoot them quick enough. It was a good choice to make some veggies unable to pierce the best armor, otherwise I'd be screwed. :)
Here's the playthrough video if you want to witness this: https://youtu.be/98m9st0Gumw
I played this for way too long ahhaha.
You did a great job! I enjoyed upgrading to deal more damage. Gives me flash vibes.
The music is very calming.
nice job :)
@d3kryption @yngvarr thank you both very much!!!
This is a cute game! Some feecback I've got for you:
- First I was not sure what to do exactly, but once found out, it was easy to play but hard to master. Just how I like it - The gnome is cute haha - I found an issue where the text would be partially behind the gnome. Not a big issue, but I thought I would mention it - The music is very well done.
@wouter52 thank you very much for your feedback!
This was delightful! Very impressive for doing in a weekend. The core loop is fun and juicy, the sounds, music and art are great. Clearly you only had a little bit of time do this, but I could TOTALLY see this game in an rpg/adventure form, where you explore caves and terrain in this manner. Great work!
really solid and additive game! as other's comment that will be nice to have some one-time item as we normally can get fully upgrade in mid game but this is not really a problem for a game jam entry. I just don't really have much to say, nice!
@yahel-dooley @eggshelldog thank you both!
Very nice! Visuals, music, gameplay are enjoyable, and it's quite polished too. Reaching endgame wasn't too hard and definitely felt like it had space for later content, so I believe the concept works well! Cheers!
@fusionnist thank you!
Overall a nice and polished entry with a solid core! I liked how the game was turn-based even though this kind of wave survival gameplay is usual very action-oriented. The item prices were maybe a bit high, which made the pacing quite slow, at least in the beginning.
Great game! I especially love all the juice in both the gameplay and the UI. I didn't quite know what to do right away, regarding how to battle, but it didn't take too long to figure it out. It seems like the ideal strategy at the start is to move close, but not too close so you can go in and strike. If you end up working on this more in the future, I think it would be nice to have potentially more strategic options. Not that I have any ideas in mind haha. Anyway, great submission overall!
A great game by every standard! I only wish that i couldev sold my veggies on the last day also, seeing that i had a lot of them stashed for no reason... :)) But even with that, i hope you are proud of me!

Really cool and cute game! I enjoyed playing it! At first, I didn't know how to play so I just sold the veggies every day... But then I noticed that the price of the veggies change each day, so then I tried waiting for a good harvest price, then bought the shotgun and it was easy going from there. Next upgrade I got was hermes' shoes and I was pretty much UNSTOPPABLE!
Anyway, the artstyle was cute, the music fit the overall atmosphere, and the sound effects were nice (though, when getting hit by multiple enemies, I think it would be better to just make like 1 or 2 sounds play, not all of them since it got very loud at one point, but that's a very minor issue). Another thing I liked was the shop, which had a bunch of different items... incredible that you managed to add a lot of items like that. But what's the most satisfying part of the game was when you've collected so much veggies, and then the price per veggie was high... *chef's kiss*
Overall a very solid entry! Great job!
@kikiriki367 wow!!!! The game is supposed to give you a bonus of gold at the end for your stash, but I think it is bugged ATM. That is still the most impressive run I've ever seen!!!!
@cobear25 @no-whone thank you very much for your input!
Oh okay, thats possible... Then just telegraph that and add more levels, because im still hungry for more! And what can i say, the chef brought a boom boom to the saloon pretty early on!
Cool game! I really liked the upgrades and the feeling that I'm getting stronger as the game advances. One (minor) issues is that in some cases it wasn't clear why some upgrades are offered and some are not (e.g. for some reason the shotgun was only offered on some days).
Pretty interesting roguelike! I love that the prices of the crops fluctuate and the bounciness of the graphics. I got the thing that lets you kill groups and started going ham but I got too greedy and died anyway. Early game is a little slow but luckily only a few levels feel that way. Great game!
@matank @poboy Thank you!!!
This was amazing its heaps of fun and has heaps of play time for a game made in such a short time. Nice music and audio, sweet visuals the approach for which really fit the kind of game it is. It has good challenge and allows you to improve to become OP which is super fun. The movement you get from certain items and the change in attack from new weapons make it so you can build a strategy as you progress. This was fun and I'd love to play more.
@raggedyjam thank you!!!
I has some trouble playing this game as it's set to always open on my main monitor, and also open in the same aspect ratio as my 9:16 main monitor, which caused it to look like this: hewn.png, so i had to change my main monitor to a 16:9 one, and then it worked like it was supposed to. Would be nice with an option to resize the window, or that it was locked to the intended aspect ratio.
Aaaaanyway. Really fun game though! Quite polished overall, and a fun loop. Good little dialogue and everything. It took me a bit long to get money for the first upgrades in the shop (3 days), but i think i might have been unlucky in what the shops had in store. Also it wasnt quite clear when the veggies could attack.
Well done! :star:
I loved this, one of if not the most polished LD game I have seen. The graphics were stunning, the audio was really well put together and I love the little attentions to detail like the swinging animations, and the differing particle effects that shot out coins all over the place. It all came together really well. It did take me a while to figure out what to do, and I think some explanation into what all the different vegetables actually do might have been a nice touch, but once I got into the gang of it I was really enjoying the strategy. I think my only main complaint is just the difficulty, I never once found myself scared of in danger, even when I was absolutely surrounded. I loved the whole aspect of the board getting more and more veggies and visually it was intimidating, but I never really felt stressed as by that point I had the best armour, and so much health. Overall though this was fantastic well done!
Very very good game, one of the most finished i've played during this LD. I would say it's maybe lack of explaination about veggies behavior and the turn based mechanics. But it's a very good overall! Awesome audio / graphism / fun / gemaplay / polish.
GG !
Nice game. Love the pixel graphics, and the gameplay's solid, though I think the night was a bit short, so was difficult to gather enough coins to buy upgrades. Well done!
