Okay! Time for my first review this Ludum Dare!
So, after getting fired on San Francisco, here are my thoughts:
Pros:
- This how I imagined an airtraffic control tycoon as a kid! - Spot-on graphics - Easy to get controls and goals - Multiple random events - Beep boop beep, I'm gonna crash! - I hate military bois - Speaking of military, I wish there was a game like this but with managing fligh patterns in a warzone! Oh the dreams.
Cons:
- Maybe I played too short, but I am not sure how 'no fly zones' and 'storms' could make me loose the game? - I wish there was a possible to make more reroutes, but I understand time vs feature challenge on COMPO. - Not really catching the 'unstable' vibe here, but the more I played, the more I got into the 'mind' of it I suppose.
Overall, a very enjoyable experience and a must-play. Great job!
This is a clever piece of work! Simple to understand and simple to play. I wanted something resembling upgrades, but that's clearly a me problem... The game difficulty ramps up nicely, but I never quite feel an amazing reward (aside not being fired :p)
Thanks @mikoziq for a great in-depth review. You are right I fell short of some things I wanted to do, storms and no-fly zones only impose delays penalty but won't end the game (storm also slows plane down x2). I initially had big plans with adjusting altitude etc. but switched to quick arcade on day two ;) Graphics took most of the time and "AI" was next.

Cool game! It gets very stressful but the concept is quite innovative and it fits the theme too. The graphics are well polished and overall it plays great. Maybe the no fly zones and storm areas could have more extreme penalties like taking a plane down

The arts feel very polished! Simple but intuitive and immersive gameplay. The major cons to me is that the theme is difficult to see in the game.
This is cool! The graphics look sleak and everything fits very well together visually. Once I got a handle on how to play, it was fun and actually quite relaxing while playing at the lowest speed. Good job!
The game is very similar to an old Mac game named Air Traffic Controller, but the whole experience was quite fun (and stressful). I love a micromanaging game.
Really nice but stressful game. It's like Mini Metro but people will die if you fail! I suppose it is only a training simulation. The graphics here are really well polished and sell the theming and feel. Calculating the delays is clever, and made me feel incompetent at this job I am definitely incapable of holding down. Really well done.
Absolutely brilliant. One of my faves so far. A game I can see myself coming back to play again and again to try and get better scores. The look and sound was lovely, maybe a few audio cues for military jets etc would have been a nice touch. Thanks for a fun game!

I love how it looks like an accurate simulation - the gameplay seems simple but it works really well, and definitely keeps you on your toes! Very slick overall :thumbsup: It would be nice to have the score information highlighted when you win, or perhaps some story elements, but other than that it's pretty perfect at what it's trying to be.
It starts off chill, then gets crazy really fast! Very appropriate for the theme! I was expecting the storms to be a bigger deal, and there were a few times where I was trying to select a plane but instead ended up rerouting the one I previously selected, but those felt like pretty minor issues. Overall, this is nicely done and very polished!
I've played a few of "air traffic routing" games, so I was prepared for some frustrating gameplay, but you've managed to create a surprisingly enjoyable entry. Is it graphics, or sound, or controls - I can't say exactly, but whatever that is, it works. Well done! I liked playing it

The game was hard and stressful, exactly what I'd expect from a air traffic controller simulation! Great job with the artstyle as well! :smile:
Exellent! I had an absolute blast, though that was stress. full. ended up with a 3 way collision and my husband and I were screaming in terror, very well done!
VERY fun and polished game. I love all the little details about each plane I click on; stuff like that really immerses me in the experience. My only minor issue was sometimes missing a click on a plane and accidentally rerouting the one I had selected. Otherwise I think this fit the theme quite nicely! I can see myself coming back to this on a late night just to relax on the lowest speed.
Nice job! The graphics and audio were really immersive. The planes felt like more than just little blips on a screen because the graphics seemed so authentic. That's an intelligent approach for a game jam with such a short development window. Smart choices all around. I feel like I learned something from playing your game. Great work!
Well this ruled. Great stuff, nailed the visual aesthetic, sound effects just right, and the "NO PAUSING!!" was a delightful humorous touch. You knew.

I like this game a lot! It looks very simple but has a ton of depth. I can't say i've ever imagined what it would be like to be an air traffic controller but after playing your game i think i know how complicated it could be. Excellent submission!
Really good game with an impressive mood. It’s more or less like a simulator - I felt myself working as an air traffic controller - and I stressed seeing planes on my screen approching each others. The minimalist aesthetic is really good too. Addictive and immersive. A solid entry. Well done ++

Really good and polished game. Having select and re-route on the same mouse button got me using re-route next to a plane I was trying to select a couple of times.

Good game, cool graphics! good to have controls for speeding up and slowing down. Sounds are nice but could have an ambience background noise to add up to immersion. Good job!
Cool game, I think the simplistic graphics work very well by clearly showing you all the info you need and nothing more, and the gameplay is intuitive and easy to understand. I wish there was an easy way to deselect a plane (maybe with right click?) because I sometimes found myself trying to select a different plane and instead rerouting the one I had currently selected. Otherwise, this is a very enjoyable and well-made game! Reminds me of the old iOS game Flight Control
