Very cool! I like the style and the music a lot. I only managed to save two of the humans, but I had a good time!

Very cool game! I enjoyed the explosion mechanic and how it forces you to think about where you are going.

Great polish on this little guy. I also only saved two people, but I did manage to make it to the rocket. The worms didn't seem to threatening as I found laying mines offensively to be pretty easy. I wish I had a little more feedback from the game upon finishing it. Instead, after the rocket sequence, it just took me right back to the start screen.

Solid. Looks great and plays well. I found myself wishing for pathfinding that avoided the rocks so I didn't need to micro-manage the movement, but I guess that's part of the challenge too, otherwise there's no need to slow down in rocky terrain. I wasn't entirely sure what was happening the first time I picked up a human and it popped me inside the rover, but still managed to repair my stuff and keep playing lol. I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this game like a lot, I ran into a bug or a crash ( It just said something about vectors ) however page reloaded before i took a screenshot, all in all i had fun playing this game, Well done

Igna Bug.PNG

I had an error when I was using the power supply at the base straight south of start. After starting over, it worked but I was scared to try it. :) Not a big deal just reporting it.

I really enjoyed the game overall! I like turn based games and pixel graphics so it worked for me. Pico games all have a certain feel which I like. The music was nice and though repetitive it added to the feel. The sounds matched well. I think the theme is hard to nail this time in general if taken literally but close enough. I was able to complete it in about 3 attempts (including the crash) and rescued 2 humans. I thought going inside the ship was a good choice.

Great job making a game in 48 hours!

@spounka346 @blockerz I'm sorry about the crash, it's very random and i didn't find the time to debug it completely. But thanks for playing !

Awesome game, graphics, music and sound design are all amazing.

Only negative thing I can think of is that the game can be a bit hard to understand at first.

I managed to save 3 humans :)

Great job! Took me a minute to figure out what to do but once you see the numbers change it starts to click. I'm a sucker for PICO-8, great job working within those limitations!

Cool game, took me some time to understand what i was supposed to do and how but after that it was pretty fun. wished it had a way to move the camera faster though. The graphics were nice and the music fit very well with the game.

This is really a good entry! I love the concept and definitely it deserve to be expanded to a full game with some more backgrounds story for the rescued people and improved management of the rover resources(BTW the rover internal view is not so great). Loved the Dune vibes.

Really cool game! Always astounds me of what people do with PICO8! Really like the idea and the art! Made me think of Dune as well!

Well done! You've got a lot of mechanics and a surprising amount of depth here once you can figure it out. I, too, only managed to save two fellow humans. The pathfinding was cool but I also wished it could path around the little spikes/rocks. I also wish there was a way to view the whole map so I knew where the different bases were without having to slowly scroll over to them, but obviously that kind of thing might be difficult in a game jam with pico8! Overall it's really impressive considering the constraints!

applestreet-games 2022-04-07 23:32

I love this! I managed to save three of my fellow humans after a couple of tries but couldn't manage to save both the top right and bottom left person in the same run. Thank you for sharing!

mikoziq 2022-04-10 19:32

I nearly made it to the rocket, because I tried to rescue all of them.

Pros:

- PICO8 is great - Great, simple art corresponding to the retro style - Clear and simple gameplay - Variations of potential endings - Like the music and sound effects as well!

Can't really pickup any cons there, apart from initial confusion of controls / mechanics

it's a well-scoped title. Great job!

Wow, this is a really beautiful and interesting Pico-8 game. The overworld and in-rover view shifting is really cool. Mechanically, it's quite simple as moving the rover is quite the basic management of resources, and keeping the interior safe is a matter of checking and fixing after receiving damage. But after my first two failures I was compelled to find my last remaining crewmate and save us from the inevitable cataclysm. My only critiques would be the pathfinding is not generous when navigating the pass-over spikes on the overworld, and that the flame enemies are quite easy to outwit or entirely avoid. As a prototype there's so much possibility, and the aesthetics are already very pleasing. I imagine the interior of the ship could turn into Among Us styled minigames to maintain the various parts. Or in the overworld, one could be in control of multiple rovers and have tactical long range battles or defensive standoffs, maybe with an Advance Wars inspired type of turn-based combat. I'm just spitballing here, but I think what's here is really compelling. Really excellent job.

No idea what I was doing or what I was supposed to do. Met a Claire or something is all I know and then exploded (I think) :D But other than that, the visuals, music, and atmosphere were impressive. I didn't think a pico8 game could look This good. Truly awe-inspiring. Thanks!
