The instructions have a typo in them - it says to go left, press 'Q' instead of 'A'. The control method is interesting, though it causes a lot of finger strain in the long term. Also, the game ends without warning, as you can't tell the section of road you're biking on is collapsing until it has already collapsed. I really like the graphics and music, but I think the gamefeel needs a bit of work. P.S. Who made the models besides the character and bike?

What lead to this choice of controls?

@aurath Yeah we fix that in the ldjam description but not in the game. ( We are french so in azerty keyboard ^^ ) I updated the Credit section with the links.
@klaaswag Life is pain, no pain no gain, pain is win. In fact, it add gameplay differences and we had planned to implement wario ware like minigames with QTE like and so other key mashing.
My right hand is really tired after playing this. Perhaps trying some reaction-based control rather than always mashing the key is better? :P The ragdoll effect when you are being hit by a car is fun BTW
I actually had a tremendous amount of fun with this one. The premise, controls, and intense music are all just ridiculous enough in combination to make a great experience!
I'm generally not one for button-mashing games, but this one is thematically appropriate, so I'll give it a pass. My fingers hurt after a while though.
Just a heads up that **you are required to opt out of Graphics and Audio** per the Jam [rules](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules) since you used outside assets:
> You’re free to use 3rd party Artwork/Music/Audio assets, or assets you previously created, but we ask that you OPT-OUT of the respected voting categories (Graphics, Audio). You can opt-out of a voting category when you submit your game.

@weathfold We originaly planed to have slopes and minigames to rest of the mashing but unfortunately we did not have the time. @jeremy-ryan For Audio i should have opt-out, yes, and i can't no more -_-'. But as there is some assets that i created, post-processing and visual effects like speed eefect, was i required to opt-out Graphics ?
@tenshi42 Unfortunately, yes. :slight_frown: It feels bad, but there's a large number of Jam games that make everything from scratch, and it's not completely fair to them to be compared to somebody who only made some assets.
You can still opt out by editing the game (pencil icon) and checking the right boxes.
Edit: oh, maybe not, I just checked with my game. They must have changed in the last couple events.

Maybe it's just me, but I did not find the control system wery suitable. My right hand fingers died after certain time of mashing buttons ( I didn't even know how fast should I mash actually ). Then we have 'gears' and other stuff :D Other than than, good job. Fun nontheless.
Really cool idea, but I'm not sure about the button mashing for pedaling. It looks beautiful and the music definitely suited the vibe.

Good looking game for me, good work. Almost nailed that theme, but it still very thing what I imagine as this theme.. Good and inovative game, good work. I like mood in this, game really I like it. Average fun game, but maybe next time you will polish the gameplay and it will be better. Overall your game is good, good job.
Good game! I like the controls of mash P and O, but at the same time the shift gear up and gear down make more difficult playing. The feeling of the speed is amazing perhaps a modification in the camera like fov or distance can improve this feeling, also when the bike is drifting you can add fx like particle system to have a better gamefeel. The music is amazing (perfect for a cycling xD) and sounds like the honr's car is a great detail. Great game guys! Congrats!
Good game!

@mikoziq As said upper, we planed to add minigames and slopes that will let you rest your hand but did not have the time. Gears should have been used with the slopes (like IRL). Thanks for playing !
@nacho-hon Thanks !
@hadik Thank for your returns !
@peterfonts Thanks ! In fact, the bike should no drift ^^'. It's a "bug" with the inertia in the unity physic system. But it could have been a feature cause there is no breaking button, and it should have.
@cursedembassy Thanks !
Looks good !
