At first the controlls were a bit hard, but after I got the hang of it, it just felt amazing to maneuver between the rock. But after I went down for a bit over a thousand meters I found a dead end which was really frustrating, a few tries later I found myself in another dead end, but this time I luckily had to go up for just a hundred meters. Except for these dead ends, the game was really enjoyable, good job.

Too hard to move. The mood is good.

Great graphics! The sonar was well done and the movement / engine mechanic was a cool idea but it was a little unforgiving, especially since it was so dark. Might I suggest giving the sub health and reducing the health by an amount determined by the force at which you hit the walls. I frequently barely tapped the wall but I lost immediately. I also think the end screen is a little too long (trying again should be quick, especially if you lose often). I think this has a lot of potential though if you wanted to continue with it! Nice job!

@zeusonator, the game is more designed for joysticks, unfortunately we could not come up with a better solution for the keyboard. Once I had to climb 1000 meters from the start to start the desent :(

@mharring oh, we had to say that by pressing the pause button, you can immediately return to the menu. And we really should consider your health idea.

This is very hard since the beginning. It's very difficult to maneuver in small spaces with the keyboard. But the overall idea is very nice and I like the mood.

Actually I decided to go upwards. Managed to get -700-ish before hitting dead-end
Pros:
- Game is very difficult, yet rewarding, - Wonderful, calm audio sound and backgroung music. Felt like depths of Europa's ocean! - Graphic wise very simple, yet beautiful with the sonar effect - Damn the gameplay is actually addicting
Cons:
- No room for error, even if the Hitboxes don't like you. I felt like i was still few dozen centimeters away from the rock but I crashed nontheless, - Definitely a gamepad only game if you wanna move with the engines mechanics. On keyboard it felt really confusing for couple of tries - Not really a Con per se but... is there any end to the game?
Overall a very polished game, lacking a bit of adjustment to difficulty. Great Job!

I didn't have a controller handy so I couldn't get the full experience sadly, but it kept me trying anyway. Amazing mood and graphics! There is some serious style and atmosphere and the dual analog approach really is the only natural way to get this across. This could probably be a pretty fun mobile game too with some further control refinement.

This is so difficult! I was playing with keyboard as I didn't have a gamepad, but eventually I did get used to it well enough, then managed to actually progress downwards haha :joy:
This was fun and satisfying, and definitely quite an innovative idea (and unique in what ive seen in the jam so far). Graphics were pretty good, and the sound / mood was great.
Good job! I'd have loved to try it with a gamepad to get the proper experience :frowning2:

@mikoziq Thank you for such a detailed review! We are very pleased.
The ship's hitbox is perfect, but I really could be wrong with the environment hitbox, sorry.
The game has no end, you will go deeper and deeper as you can ... or higher and higher, we did not limit the player.
But we liked the mood and want to add tasks if we have time later
this is quite difficult, but super cool! I have to say, personally I don't really like not being able to see around you all the time and having to wait for a random burst of light, but that's pretty minor. I too was playing with keyboard, and I noticed that even if you barely scrape a pixel against the rock, you die. Maybe you could consider making the environment hitbox smaller? Other than that, I liked the game a ton!
The game is diffcult, and it's a bit harsh to get use to the controls, but is really excellent! The feeling of stress when you have to maneuver the submarine really is heady, it adds a lot to the general atmosphere of the game, as well as the approach of the light which is excellent. The most frustrating point to me was that the crash screen is remaining to long on screen, I would have like to restart a run faster!
Really a great job, well done!

I move so slow and it is hard to control but I like this game , graphic is great
I like the graphics, and it was quite interesting to play, but I cannot go below 144 meters, the controls are quite difficult.

Great game! I think for something so minimal, it has a great feel to it! The game has a great mood and atmosphere to it. Brilliant usage of low quality (as in less detail, not bad haha ) art to make such a nice looking game! Good job, got to around 140 meters

The game looks very cool and has really good sounds. Is the white arrow pointing at anything or is it just showing the path you should take? Also I kinda feel like the movement should be relative to the subs rotation, but I'm not sure.

As promise, I finally had time to play your game on stream :) Here is a link to the correct place in the video: https://www.youtube.be/watch?v=Sx1MQ445u7k&t=11785s
I really like the concept of this game, it could be a great challenge. Unfortunately the control are really hard, well, at least without a good playground to try them properly first.
I believe your controls are actually good, but the level always start with very small corridor where your sub has to squeeze through. An experience player can probably pass them super easily but someone that never played the game won't be able to.
I think if you had a starting area with larger corridor, less obstacles, and slowly increased the difficulty, this game could be really rewarding for the player.
Good job!

This felt pretty amazing to control and get the hang of, it felt like i was in control all of the time and if i crashed it was my fault, but the game is relentless, you just scratch a surface and boom youre done. Great job !
