Really cool artstyle and dialogs are visually really cool!
Nice game! Music fits perfectly to spend some time in a train. Liked the riddles although I didn't make it to the end. I'm too slow :(
Great synergy between art style and music. So simple but fitting the theme really well. Overall really well done. And oh boy! We do love trains! ;)
Awesome! I love it! Love the adventure gameplay with limited time which gave me what must to do and what not to do. Also stopped the tragedy finally after several times. It also gave me the vibe of Source Code film which I like it a lot.
Tight loop experience. Was fun to learn the optimal path over a few runs. The dialog was enjoyable and often humorous. Art was stylistic and mostly consistent.
Solid Game, super fun especially the dialogues.
I hate the fact that I can't jump out of the window lol, nice game and I find myself just moving around really fast and pressing E to just complete the game.
and you have the same problem that I had in my entry, the player getting the items before even needing them I was like why I need the Gameboy now, this small game design issue really got me upset and I couldn't solve it.
@fadrikalexander Thanks so much for playing! I think if given more time I would have liked to make the items optional to pickup, instead of automatically getting added. Potentially hiding them better too to give the player more opportunity to discover why they need them first. Also, jumping out of the window would have been an excellent way to reset the loop and I'm kicking myself that I didn't think of that. Thanks for the feedback!
@thevideogamester Hey thank you for playing and the kind words! It means a lot. Glad you had a good time!
I was looking forward to playing this, but itch.io had issues installing it :(
@n8dev Hey there, sorry to hear that. I've placed an install-able .exe file as an alternative download to the .zip. I haven't heard other reports of installation errors yet, if you have a chance would you be able to let me know what sort of errors you bumped into?
@Conneli itcherror.png I am using the itch.io app, I just tried it again and got the same error, yet I can now play it, it's a really awesome game! I love the casual feel, the music, and the character personalities! Really creative! A couple things though, first, the colliders on the train seats were too big, my character was a decent distance away and they were preventing him from moving. Also, when you interact with the characters, the dialogue pop ups sometimes overlap with another. Other than that, really great gameplay, and I also really enjoyed the art and music if you made it. Feel free to rate my submission as well!
This was a really chill game! nice job!
This game was hella fun! I love the art style, the story plus alot of dialogue was neat and controls were simple. The music is sooo good
That was so fun! I loved the graphics and dialogues. Also it was a pretty neat idea to have a limited time, it took me quite a few tries but I finally got the bastard! Great job.
Music and sounds are really nice, as are visuals. Text was a bit blurry though. Also at the moment of giving items NPC seem to show some phrase for a split second and afterwards - text about item recieved, that was a bit distracting. Finally it really seem strange that loop continues after first problem is solved - it would be more natural to me for game to end even if I haven't solved the second(maybe with an ending which suggest that I could do more)
@steambrain thank you so much for the feedback, it's all valid and all appreciated! Multiple endings is an interesting idea and I think it would be worth pursuing should the project continue. Thanks again, and thanks for playing!
I enjoyed this one; I like games that require some memorization. Towards the end, things started to get confusing and hectic while racing against the timer. I do second a previous comment that the text could be sharper, visually. The game is also so fast paced that sometimes, I barely keep track of what the dialogue is. Interacting with several characters in quick succession causes all their dialogue to overlap each other and while it goes away, it would have been more ideal to have only one character's dialogue display at a time. But I'm glad the important stuff stays and that I could go back and review the dialogue for hints regarding what to do. I was challenged, but not completely frustrated.
The graphics in this game are nice, and I love the little bits of dialogue that I do catch along the way, along with the voices. This, along with the calm, happy music, created a pleasant experience ~~while imminent doom approaches~~. I like how the screen starts turning white as the timer reaches towards the end. The controls felt very fast paced and smooth, although my hands felt kind of squished having to press the E key so close to WASD.
The presentation of the conclusion was also neat. Although I read some of the dialogue in reverse, I think.
@random-storykeeper Wow! Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. It is all appreciated. I'm glad you played it through all the way, and yes the dialogue is something that'll have to be improved if the project continues in any way. Thank you again!
Fun game! Enjoyed how it was pretty much impossible to do everything unless you knew what you were doing. Gave the looping a purpose!
Got some majora`s mask vibe with the reseting time mechanic. Good game overall
realy nice game fun and intriging
Really enjoyed playing this, it was hard to read the text when I was moving fast because it would overlay, other than that the art was super cute and the idea was really fun to play through!
I loved this game! I got stuck after getting wire cutters from the machinist, though. Is there a walkthrough video or something?
@gord10ahmet There is now! https://youtu.be/p_zCENdqhQY
Thank you for the video!
The loop mechanics are really cool. Your game looks a little bit like mine haha. I really enjoyed your work, congratulations.
Art is very nice and the music fits well. Gameplay is simple but effective, I enjoyed reading what everyone had to say (though it caused me to run out of time first run through!) Great job anyway!
I genuinely enjoyed this! I like the race against the clock and learning the steps required in subequent play throughs - it sorta reminds me of that movie Sourcecode - similar idea where a guy has to defuse a bomb but gets to groundhog day his back when he fails
This was fun running up and down the train and trying to work out everything I could do.
Very neat game! Loved how well balanced it was with how the time passed and each subsequent loop. Dialogue was cute and the things you picked up and how they linked together. It was also quite satisfying linking it all and completing the game. Well done.
I couldn't finish the game so I watched the video for the end. The game has a really good mood, nice graphics and music. Text after giving an item were quite hard to read sometimes so I ended up with an item I didn't really know what to do with (but this could be "overrun" by talking to each NPC hoping to find the one at the price of succeeding the current run :p). Overall, I enjoyed playing the game, it was fun learning run after run
Was that really your first ludum dare?? Very impressive stuff. Loved the voice acting, it has inspired us for our games. Nice pace and vibe to the game. Found a bug where the text overlapped a bit. It was nice gradually putting the pieces together.
@djayne Yeah, first game jam ever to be honest. Really glad you liked it, and the text bug is basically corrected now I'm just not sure if I want to keep the build as flawed but authentically done in the three days, or if it's enough of an issue to warrant the update.
Great art, fits perfectly with game theme.
A truly satisfying game! Well done. :D
Looks really cool for a first game jam entry. It looks finished and consitent, keep up the good work :)
Pretty nice game, the riddles were really quite hard to figure out
damn this is amazing :hearts: i want more from that !
Wow... trains sure are great... This game is also great! Really cute art, writing, and design. I loved figuring out the puzzles through multiple runs. I ran into the same text issues others have mentioned, and I ended up muting the game after a couple runs as I found the music got slightly repetitive, but other than those tiny quibbles I thoroughly enjoyed this. Really impressive!
I feel so proud that I beat this game. This is one of my favorite games that I've played this jam. It is super clever and kind of like a mystery novel. The mechanics and gameplay are perfect. If I had any suggestions it would be to maybe make the music more intense as the time ran out. Great job :)
I'm always intrigue by a good fetch quest mainly because I'm amused by the clever way people find to make things fit together and have purpose and meaning. Nicely done
Cool idea for a game! Took some time to figure out the order that everything was suppose to go in. Also it was hard to read all the text when it overlapped and when you had to rush through everything you didn't have time to read everything.
Nice setting up and interactions ideas. It's a good mood game. But I find it difficult because this kind of game need exploration and time to understand what to do, and it's a bit annoying to restart again and do the same things in my humble opinion. But the game is enjoyable even if the collisions box are very big and that the character cannot move very easily. A little bug : when we speak between 2 characters, the 2 texts are overlapping. Anyway. I would like to play it if there would not be a timer. I know, it's for the theme... But I don't have patience. So I watched the walkthrough. Anyway, it's a good entry.
