Wow, a working grass growing system and some cow AI, very impressive. The game reminded me a bit of Slime Rancher, down to the enrage mechanic + music change when it happens. I like the take on the theme, and with some more cohesion between all the elements (music doesn't really fit the art), you could have a real contender here.
That was really fun. Some attack feedback would have been nice. Good job!
This was nice. I liked the mechanics with the grass and the enraged creatures. Controls were a bit clunky - very impressed with the tooltip popups down the bottom though. Graphics were cute. Music was very nice but some sound effects would have helped. I thought the game was quite short. The sliders at the top would have indicated ships would come multiple times but the game was over quickly. I also didn't know why I would shout. Still for the brief time I did play the game, it was enjoyable.
It was all a little slow for me, an interesting take on the theme that could totally benefit from development. Worth taking further I think.
This is a very cute game! I think it works really well although I wasn't really sure if there was anything in particular causing the creatures to become enraged. The tooltips were very useful and I enjoyed how quick the game is paced.
Cheers for all the reviews and comments! :)
@gamequester @schu @lars-dk Yeah, we've realized that we're communicating a little bit too little information to the player. The moomoos are hungry almost immediatelly when they land. If they don't get to feed, they will get enraged, which turns them into cannibals. We actually had the sales ship come in infinite times (until all your moomoos are gone one way or another), but it made the game sessions very long, since you might get stuck with just one moomoo that can never produce any more :/
The shouting mechanic is intended as a "shepherding" function, so you can drive the moomoos a bit towards the ufo that comes to pick them up. We did notice that it's perhaps a bit too difficult, and also they might get enraged after the effect wears off, because they didn't have a chance to eat :D
We're working on a post-jam build, it's located in http://astrofarmer.net
It already has some additional stuff, like a title music and slightly better graphics.
The post-jam build also runs on safari, you just need to refresh the page one time (for whatever reason we can't figure out)
Pretty fun! It felt like there was too little on screen for my liking but it was still fun. ^^
Funny. ^^
So awesome, I like it :D the music is great!
