LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

One Night to Score by nervous-composers 2017-12-11T13:43:32Z

Nice little twist at the end. ;) The game hit the theme well, the graphics were nice and the drunk effect was pretty cool. It wasn't very easy to control the amount of consumed alcohol (I once had the chance to fake drinking), but I think was part of the charm. If there one thing I'd improve, then it would be the dialogue tree. There were pretty many clearly black and white choices to make and the conversation would easily circle. Anyway, it was a good effort, when takinh the time frame into account.

Make Ludum Dare Great Again by ultimategrinder 2017-12-11T14:47:59Z

Definitely quite funny! I finished the game on the first try, which made me think that maybe there should be a time based scoring system, where finishing faster would yield higher scores? The music choice was awesome, the graphics are nice, the animations are smooth. Sometimes it was pretty hard to hit the coders with coffee, but that wasn't a big problem. Once when I finished the game, I managed to get myself into a loop, where the finishing sound looped over and over, my mouse was hijacked and I couldn't choose either replay or quit (HTML5 build), so maybe there's a bug there. Anyway, great job!

Run Guys by arron-fowler 2017-12-11T14:01:09Z

Nice point of view on the theme! The controls are pretty simple, which is good. The thing I found difficult was to determine who my avatar was after some friends joined the run. This led to some unnecessary "running against a tree" -deaths. This could easily be fixed with some sort of pointer. The overall mood of the game could be tuned up with some very simple sound effects. I liked the blocky graphics and what you have achieved with them in a small amount of time.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

He-Who-Is-Beyond-The-Sun by Joror 2018-12-28T14:23:47Z

Nice one! This is an ambitious game for ludumdare because it's probably difficult to balance during a weekend. I liked the atmosphere. Some animations for enemy moves would make it easier to grasp what's going on. The added help overlay was really helpful. Well done!

Nice game! I liked the atmosphere and the thrill when ending the turn and hoping that the enemy fleet doesn't arrive yet. Well done!

@roka-josh Thanks for your feedback! Which browser did you experience the tile-issue on? I have experienced similar behavior on Edge.

@phi You're right about the shield. As long as you have the shield you are pretty much invincible if you hold up the shield all the time. This would normally be a pretty much game breaking mechanic, but since we decided to take the shield away from player first, we decided that this is okay and it emphasizes the greatness of the powers he has received. :)

Useful Corpses by ryjcio 2018-12-28T15:22:32Z

The mood in this game is pretty good and the execution is pretty neat overall.

I don't know if leaving a corpse really is that big of a sacrifice for the player (the poor guy dying will probably disagree), because there isn't a trade off when someone dies.

The collision detection was a little bit unforgiving when jumping from the edges (I just fell down, even though I think I should have jumped).

I like dark and depressing stuff, so in that sense this is right up my ally, though. Great effort! Hope you had fun making it.

Eztli by lilkrit 2018-12-30T09:18:56Z

Ambitious entry and a nice idea. A very literal take on the theme, which is not wrong in any way. :) I liked the fact that you've managed to put together real quests in a 3D environment. Sounds would have made a huge impact on the game. A good accomplishment within tight time constraints. If you would have had one more day you would probably been able to create basic sound effects and some background ambience.

Endless Nungeon by Haustgeirr 2018-12-28T15:45:26Z

This game has a good mood and atmospehere, which I like. The art and the music is nice (even though slightly repetitive, which is understandable. I made the music for our game during the last day with no creativity left, so it became a very short loop :D).

The game could be a little bit easier on the player in the beginning. It was a little bit frustrating to get into the game.

Overall, nice job! Hope you had fun making it!

Dark Villagers by AwiX 2018-12-28T15:02:11Z

The art and the music create a really good atmosphere! What this game probably needs (like others have pointed out, too) is a tutorial, but I kind of got the handle on it after a couple of massacres of my cultists. :) Maybe turn down the difficulty a notch in the first waves? Nice work! Hope you had fun making it!

Total Party Kill by adventureislands 2018-12-28T14:49:59Z

I think this is pretty darn close to a perfect compo game, if there ever was one. The music, the graphics and the atmosphere is fantastic! The theme is implemented very well. And the amount of good, short levels is fantastic for an LD entry. Very solid! Awesome work!

Meta Magic by Inkie Inc 2018-12-28T14:35:30Z

This game really wants to kill the protagonist. A very dangerous world, it is. I think the music and the graphics worked really nice together. It was quite fun, even though pretty repetitive. More variations to attacks and enemy behavior would spice things up a notch. I found the game world to be pretty claustrophobic but that's probably the point. :) It feels like you had a fun time putting the game together. Nice work!
