This game feels really polished and there is also nice backstory and explanation for everything that happens in the game. Very impressive for 48 hours of work. I like old school feel to the game, graphics and audio go together perfectly. Game is pretty well balanced, the more time you spend on planet the more risky it gets but you might get a lot of good stuff. Also when you are hauling stuff you can't use pulse which is also a nice balancing factor. In overall really good game and really fun to play.
Fantastic execution. It's like a Metroid + Lunar Lander type game and you've captured the theme perfectly. The danger warnings are effective in creating that ominous feel of the planet turning against you. How quickly the world changes and reacts to you is awesome and it really feels like you're interacting with the gameworld.
Wow, this is really good! I'm impressed by the level of thought in the design (like how Sanguinite takes time to mine, so you've got to clear the area first), in how clearly you've presented some complex mechanics, and how complete and substantial this all feels. Nice twist on the last level. Very solid all round.

This was amazing, I really enjoyed this. If I'd bought this as it is for a few pound on steam, I'd feel it was worth it easily. This feels like you could polish it up into an actual product :) The sound was nice, the graphics were good enough and self consistent. The flight controls felt VERY nice, and almost all upgrades felt instantly useful/tangible (except armour and pulse range/recharge, which were subtler). Really nicely done, congratulations!

Awesome. Just awesome! Good story, and it feels fleshed out. Kept me tense whenever i was transporting the last package with the drone. Really really good! :)

WOW! This game done by one person in 48hours with this excellent gameplay, the nice progression, the story, the music and the overall execution is amazing. And, not to forget, the gameplay is also very fun. The only point I have to critisize is that it is very loose on the theme. Really impressive!

Thanks for the feedback!
@gilborn You're right, the execution didn't nail the theme as well as it did when it was just an idea in my head. Randomly got some good ideas *the morning after* for some easy changes to help it hit the theme more squarely. Oh well, Ain't that the way.

@Wheffle I feel that your game's connection to the theme wasn't too bad to be honest! The more you're carrying the worse your flight characteristics are, and the more power-ups/sanguinite you collect the worse the monster attacks are. I've seen worse connections to the theme so far, for sure :)
This was the best game I have played. I had an hour blocked out tonight to play LD games but instead just played yours. Great graphics (for the type of game), great sound, and the backstory was interesting as well as the end (I really thought I was going to face off against the sentient robot though).

I uploaded my gameplay of this game on youtube, you can find it here

Thanks for being part of the stream :)
O.O I loved the gameplay OMG it's so nostalgic hahahahaha, great job man!!
I'm happy to see this ported to html5! I don't often use windows, so I really appreciate the effort!

@incredible-ape Awesome, I just ported it like 5 minutes ago. Good timing! Glad to hear it's already being used!
This was pretty fun! The upgrades were cool, controls were great, shooting and the pulse bomb were nice. The art could be improved but other than that this was a fun little game :)
This is honestly my favorite game of this jam. A lot of that is because of the excellent controls, probably the best lander controls I've ever experienced. Everything else just clicks too, the enemies and weapons, the explorations aspect and just the right amount of story. And mostly it's just plain fun! Congrats on a phenomenal game!

Good game. The propulsion felt spot on, and the controls felt responsive and intuitive. The difficulty curve is good for the most part (I feel the game could have been a bit more challenging) and the upgrade-system feels really satisfying. I loved the story of the game up until the big reveal. It just didn't feel satisfying. I feel it would have been better to put it somewhere in the middle or towards the end so that the information you've unveiled could lead you to somewhere interesting. Apart from that though the game is great.

@banan Thanks for the feedback! I agree, the game can get easy if you've got decent luck with the upgrade pickups. Unfortunately I didn't leave myself a lot of time for tuning. I also agree that the story had more untapped potential. Compo can be brutal though. Things to think about for next time!

This is good. The controls are intuitive and allow for a lot of precision. The graphics are not especially attractive, but they are very readable, and the limited animation is effective. The final stage felt appropriately epic as I blasted off with a screenful of enemies & bullets chasing after me. Excellent work.
Aw sweet, its Solar Jetman with a dash of Risk Of Rain!
I enjoyed this a lot - particular credit for being able to loot my own corpses.
Really enjoyed playing this on stream. The controls of the drones is spot on, and you do feel more powerful the more hou powerup your drones. It does become challenging. I can see the relation to the theme of when you mine the ore it draws the interest of the creatures, however - I do feel it wasn't the overwhelming theme of the game. The visuals and audio all tie in well together.

Oh boy, this one is addictive. One of my favourites so far. The backstory, the graphics... The SFX is a bit too loud though. I hope you continue working on it. Really good!
This game is awesome! I finished it with great pleasure and I want to do this again. Great job!

I was so excited when I saw that you made tiny terraformer for LD38, that was one of my favorites. You stuck with the space theme and didnt disappoint here either!
The game was fun, it got challenging but always felt fair and I felt like it was my fault for not being careful enough when I died. Admittedly, I did get stuck on level 3 for a long long time.
Powerups were rewarding enough to go after, and combat was smooth and felt 'right'.
Another great entry by you!
Great entry! I feel it fits in very well with the theme and is very well put together! The SFX and music are a bit loud in my opinion, and I kept feeling like I should have been hitting enemies when I wasn't (which is possibly me just being bad at aiming ).
All in all, a great job! I love being able to drag your broken drones back to replenish a life, it's a nice touch.
This was absolutely fun to play. Definitely brought me back to the lunar lander days. The controls for the movement were just right. Being able to upgrade the fire rate and fire power of the drone, plus other upgrades, felt really rewarding for the exploration needed to do it.
The story setup for the game was great, and hope to see you continue developing this.
We talked about it on stream, but I'll leave the suggestion here as well. You mention in the description that it was a Lunar Lander and Metriod style. When I saw Metroid, I was thinking at some point I would exit the ship and/or drone as a character to walk around and explore, but that wasn't there. It would be a really cool addition to this, could do something along the lines of how Blaster Master does it.

Just great! It's long, it's fun to play, mechanics are not complex but they get harder as time goes on. I ended up playing for longer than I expected. Really good entry :D
Wow, that was longer than expected. The drone handles really well and I really like the music. I reckon the area of effect weapon doesn't really show properly the actual area, at least not the upgraded version - enemies were dying from it way further than the circle and I would actually like the starting are of the weapon to be bigger (or maybe I just thought so 'cause of the circle), but at the start it felt too risky to use it properly. Later on, I actually didn't need it at all as I was just breezing through the later levels being a complete murder machine. That's probably my mine issue - it was too easy and I was a bit sad I didn't see a final boss as I was expecting it when delivering the artifact. In any case, I had good fun.
At first glance I judged this badly. I was happy to be proven wrong. The gameplay was slick, the challenge was enjoyable and it kept me playing. It was a reminder of some of the games I played and loved as a kid. I enjoyed the music and the growing sense of tension. Good work.

Awesome feedback! Thanks everyone!
**@mrnyarlathotep** Yes! Solar Jetman! I played the crap out of that game as a kid and it has had a huge influence over most of the games I make. I loved the exploration and weird places that you were able to find in that game, and the sense that you were truly in an alien place.
**@honest-dan** I have gotten feedback more than once that the LD theme wasn't the overwhelming theme of the game. I do agree. In my head it seemed like a perfect fit, but after execution it kind of lost a little bit of that connection. Something to keep in mind next time!
**@pcmxmx**, **@serpentworks-games** Yeah, I tried to balance the music/sounds relative to each other, but I didn't think about balancing them with the OS or other applications. Next time!
**@burgee** Great to see you again and be feedback friends! Thanks for checking out my game! I loved what you guys did, seems to have taken off quite a bit! Well deserved.
**@manbearedgames** Thanks so much for checking it out on stream! It is both very informative and highly entertaining to watch streamers play your game. I think that's an incredible idea, and if I move forward with the game there's definitely a chance that'll end up a feature!
**@secretpocketcat** Thanks for checking it out! I agree that the game is generally a bit easy. I didn't leave a lot of time for balance testing, and I leaned toward making it easier because I was afraid of people hitting a difficulty wall before playing too much. Also the difficulty can vary a bit depending on your salvage luck. A true final boss would have been awesome too. All time management issues on my end! Thank you so much for the critiques and just taking the time to play!
**@arron-fowler** Thanks for playing! Out of curiosity, what made you hesitant about the game at first glance? I consider first impressions and presentation part of the challenge, and would love to improve in that area!

That's extremely good! I love everything about it - the gameplay, the style, the subtle narration. You actually got me to give another try after a game over and complete it, which itself, I believe, is a great achievement for a LD game!

Very fun, flying the ship around felt very satisfying, and I always appreciated getting a decent upgrade to my weapons and thrusters
This game is pretty cool! I enjoyed the exploration of it, flying around felt fun and still challenging trying to avoid damage by hitting the surface. I couldn't deal with the difficulty ramp up on, I think, the fourth planet anymore.
The art is basic, but still charming and oldschool. I am not sure the yellow blast effects really gave me a good sense of functioning as hitmarkers though. And I couldn't visually tell that I was hitting my enemies well either.
I see in the video that @togis linked that there are sound effects, but I only get music in the web client and no sound effects at all.
Overall a solid and fun entry!
Sanguinite is another one of those "how the heck did one person pull this off in 2 days?" kind of Ludum Dare entries. The music, sound design, and story put you on a firm foundation in another world. The drones are fun to fly and everything just feels right. The difficulty is perfect for me. I felt like it had an adequate challenge. Great work I would play a full game of this with more story really I just want more of everything in the same proportions.

@flaterectomy That's very strange that you were missing the sound effects, and unfortunate because I feel audio adds a lot to a game. Is your browser up to date? Maybe try clearing the cache or trying a different browser? HTML5 can be a mysterious beast sometimes.
@wheffle I just gave it another go and now the sound effects did work. I agree that they are important, the lack of visual feedback on damage is less important when there's an impact sound for instance. Not sure why it didn't work before, I didn't even reset my browser.
The sound effects are nice and oldschool, and you seem to have implemented them for all the important feedback.

@flaterectomy Glad it mysteriously worked! I do think the game needs way more visual feedback for some stuff, specifically for hits landed on enemies. I'll definitely keep that in mind for next time.

Nice work on the game! Felt like it's an actual published game. I don't normally like playing games with spaceships. But I played plenty long for yours. I think the difficulty of the game is quite weird. Sometimes, a lot of enemies just spawn. Other time, it's too easy. Especially since the power up are kinda OP. Overall, great game :)
@wheffle I think my initial response was the old school basic graphics, it is easy sometimes to lazily equate them to poor quality. It quickly became apparent that your use was celebratory and the game was quality, once I was enjoying the experience I could appreciate all the elements in a new light. Prejudice is something we have to overcome in all walks of life and I guess it is easier to overcome if you can back yourself up. I was happy to put my prejudices aside on this one.

Really liked this one. Trying to get the sanguinite back while dodging swarms of enemies with a sliver of health was really nail-biting!
Well done, this is a brilliant entry! It's a whole lot of fun to play and although I found it quite difficult, it felt very fair. I really like that you included a detailed story; I don't think I've seen any other entry do that so far.

A really nice game.
Like the mechanic for getting lives back if you carry a broken drone to the ship.
Also a lovely bit strategic depth there, as you have to drop your cargo to do a blast.
There were a couple of glitches though. Sometimes I would have several nodes of ore and a bonus spawn on the same spot, so I would have to drill one, and as I tried to pick it up, I would just start drilling again, becoming a sitting duck when I least expect it.
And the difficulty curve is a bit too steep IMO... first 3 levels are easy, and forth (or fifth? O_o) one is just hell with enemies swarming you dead before you can finish drilling (mostly because you can't dodge enemy shots while drilling and there kind of a lot of shooty-squids spawning all the time.

This is one of my favorite entries. It's quite well done in every aspect, including the story.
I found really cool that you could get your disabled drones back to the ship. On the downside, that can be exploded a bit: at some point, I self-destroyed an almost dead drone close to the ship so I could easily bring it back. On the bright side, you can't always do that as you actually need to go to find stuff, and you can indeed die in difficult-to-retrieve places.
The last level was kind of underwhelming in the difficulty. I think the danger should be at max since the beginning of the level in that one.
The music is great, but maybe a darker music (like the one that plays during the Story) would fit the game theme better.
That's it. I cannot give you too much more feedback simply because I enjoyed the game a lot. Congratulations on the great work!

Well polished game! The upgrades and increase in difficulty felt meaningful. Impressive to see what people can squeeze into 48 hours!
Whoaa! - you did a great work developing this project. I like the main gameplay and its aesthetic. Music is hypnotic. Physics seems to me a little bit too smooth, but I had fun playing. Well done ++
