Nice avoid em game! Takes a while for the water to close in but it was so slow I didn't notice it, but I guess it fits the theme. I managed to get 42 fish and become a super penguin which was fun, I didn't really make use of the benefits of it tho. I could see myself going at it for a while.

Fun game! Didn't notice that you could shoot the first time I played through, so it was an accidental pacifist run for about 28,000 points. Great work!

I liked the audio, and it was a very happy, fun game to play. I think you could develop it further, animations for penguins getting hit. The music speeding up when the game gets faster is a nice touch. Some variation in level would be good, think ramps, holes to fall down, moving enemies etc.

As for the animations, they were ready but I didn't have time to implement them, I hoped sounds were sufficient as feedback for the time being.

I'll try to make a v2 to implement suggestions we received and fix some things.

There's a lot of this game that the screenshots don't tell you, I thought it was going to be boring but it has many details that make the experience enjoyable, nice entry, I really like the fact that the music gets faster the longer you play it, makes you feel more inmersed.

With more polish it could be great game for mobile

@josehzz Thanks a lot! :) Happy that you didn't find Pastien too boring, I was worrying a bit since we got some feedback about the slow progression of the game.

As for the music, at first I tried to speed up the music with little-to-no pitch modification, but finally we opted for letting the pitch increase too, making it a bit more fun (for us, at least^^).

Also, thanks for the bit about mobile game, it could be fun to try polishing & porting it. :)

I got through it! I liked being able to pick up the fish and spit them back out again. I don't think I got far enough to see the 'running out of space' part of the game as the side-scrolling made me feel motion sick, but the obstacles made it a challenge.

A few bugs: I found shooting would sometimes work and sometimes wouldn't, and that caused problems when trying to avoid an obstacle at the last minute. I also noticed that sometimes the penguins/ramps randomly despawn. Restarting the game didn't restart the difficulty or the fish-eaten score.

A nice, tidy and complete game. I really liked your penguins.

Nice game. It started running a little slow once the action hotted up. I thought it was all implimented well and I enjoyed it. Well done

@polyducks thanks for your feedback, I'll try to investigate what's causing the motion sickness, it's a pretty interesting thing to tackle. I never had a problem with the shooting part but I'll check that too. As for the disappearance of some items / obstacles, it's mainly due to the collisions and the way I made the water getting closer to the player, I coded that part at the last minute and hesitated until the last 30 minutes about how to handle that feature.^^" You're the first person IIRC to notice the difficulty not "reseting" after a restart of the game, I'll add that to my check list. :) @arron-fowler thanks for playing and for the feedback! :)

I don't know if I'll have time to make a v2, but I sure hope so, as the feedback given by players has been really interesting and useful.

This was a cute game; the theme tie in wasn't quite obvious at first until I started noticing the barriers shrink. I noticed that; on the HTML build at least; that the "Fish shooting" action didn't always fire when I wanted it to? Not sure what was going on with that. I really appreciated that the music matched the pace that you're traveling at ^^. I do have to wonder; what was the distinction for having 42 for the super penguin? Seems like a really arbitrary number.

@lexichan thanks for the feedback! :) The 42 is kinda arbitrary yes, since we had little time to tweak the game settings (I figured how to code an more important than anticipated feature something like 30 minutes before the 72h time limit), I decided to use the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything" as the number of ammo required. Also, I didn't really think about the spawn rate of the different things and fishes were to spawn more frequently.^^"

The slow start is the major "negative" feedback we had, I was afraid the game would be too difficult too soon, so I set what I thought to be a "reasonable speed" without having the time to playtest. Unfortunately this slow start translates into a slow water progression making it hard to "see the theme".

Had some trouble in the beginning cause I was not sure what to shoot, what do dodge and what to get. But after a few tries, it got easier and the game became more enjoyable. The music speeding up is a nice touch. I could not play for a very long time though, because the motion makes me a little dizzy. It is a shame, cause I liked it. Good job. :v:
