It will be much more fun if you add another opponent traktor for challenge and upgrades such as speed and capacity. Cool game btw!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD52 → Mow Rider Deluxe

@v0odo0 yes... but multiplayer in compo is nearly impossible ;) It did cross my mind ! Thank you for playing! I might have a look and make a post jam
Somehow this was relaxing and stressful at the same time lol I wanted to keep the lines straight so badly but the tractor wasn't having it.
Was a super neat concept though, makes me think of farming simulator mixed with overcooked. I could see having a farmer running around jumping between machines and having to hastily do everything while chaos ensues.
I did have some chugging once I got into the middle of the field though. There are a few things in unity you may can check out for mesh instancing if you havnt yet that could help.
Good to see you and your son had some fun with it!
My poor GTX760 wasn't doing so hot with this game but it's super cute! Your art workflow must be super efficient, the low poly aesthetic works well without looking sparse. The noises the tractor made when full were amusing. :)
@augmotic You describe the exact vibe I wanted to go for ! As one does in Ludum Dare, I overscoped horribly and I ran into some unexpected timeloss, but the idea was indeed to have multiple tractors have a go at it. Everybody hates tank-controls and I really wanted to turn them into a mechanic ! (The first person cheat helped me debug stuff for that matter).
@clyde The art was actually pretty straightforward, aside from a couple of buildings. The crops are generated through code and I make the tip of the crops move to a perlin noise based flowfield ^-^ The tractor itself is just built up from basic unity shapes, made it way easier to make the tractor explode. The fences and the smoke particles were pretty easy as well, thank you blender! :D
@Both You both gave indications that the game is capable of turning a GPU into an airfryer, so I decided to have a look for obvious mistakes. I've optimized the mesh and made it slightly more sparse. I also fixed some "oof" code that accidently duplicated meshes, which overlapped near the center. That should be resolved now (or at least greatly improved). Thank you for letting me know !
This was a fun one, really like the graphics but performance was a bit patchy
I know one thing - I would NOT invite myself to harvest crops using tractor!
Super cute game, feels very polished for jam game (especially the menu), although the controls vere a bit clunky - it added the fun factor for me, so maybe it is intentional?
Fun game, well made with simple challenging gameplay. The cheat code are a nice addiction.
Only one thing: i think that the playtime is a little long, and it could be shortened to increase replayability
Really fun and solid. Not much to add. I thought it was great. Kudos
Really great game, 10/5 voice acting ^^ you've inspired me to put similar cheat codes in my future jams haha
Best box art of the compo. I could spend a lot of time optimizing my strategy to score well in a game like this, and the need to drop off you payload gives you something extra to think about. Nice touches all-around: professional voice acting, settings menu, and cheats!
@KyMakesGames Thank you SO much for playing ! I'll let my son know his voice acting is appreciated :D
Adorable game! Loved the VO. Cheat codes were great. I wish it was slightly easier to control. Nice work!
Really nice polished and adorable game. I loved the voice acting, it reminds me of my first ld jam, I did the voice acting in that one, that was forever ago tho. LD27 I think. Anyway, I loved the crazy controls, made it quite the challenge to get back without overloading the tractor. Also makes its a bit strategic as to how you harvest. Great job!
Nice, fun, and simple game!

It took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. The drop-off mechanic is obvious enough once you see it, but seems pretty unlikely that anyone will accidentally make it back to the beginning corner without intentionally doing so. Post-compo, I think a demo play running on the title menu would be great here. Or maybe flash "drop off at the start" the first time the tractor is half full each play.
@acdimalev Thank you ! There originally was a small label that said "dropoff zone" but it didn't fit the esthetics...I removed it and forgot to replace it :) But you're right ! I experimented with an arrow pointing towards the dropoff but that also didn't fully work. Thank you for playing !
Very cool, simple game! I love the idea of oldschool cheat codes for a jam game, so extra points for that. Also extra points to your son for his voice acting, he did a very good job! Well done!
Nice, i like the voice acting, loved the voice acting your kid did, only thing is i feel like maybe a bit slower turning would play nicer? but i also get that difficult controls are kinda the point here so i am not sure, other than that, it's great
Grats to mini javasaurus on his voice acting! I did actually say when I played it that I wondered if it was your son! The mechanics were nicely implemented - the challenging steering was a good addition as otherwise it would have been a bit to methodical to get a good score! I liked the mix of strategy and control!
