Wow! Really nicely polished game. Fun, challenging and looks gorgeous. The style reminds me of the MicroMachines racing games from way back in the Commodore Amiga age. Great work guys!

shard 2019-04-29 18:24

As a fan of puzzle games, I really liked this one

jiri-hysek 2019-04-29 18:26

Sweet little game guys! A bit easy but I let my 8 year daughter to play it and she liked it a lot! I personaly love the aesthetics and music fit really well. Very pleasant experience, thanks!

harksa 2019-04-29 19:41

what a cute little game ! I absolutely love the pixel art style and the fact that everything had a face was a nice touche. It has a good diversity of interactions and I wish I could see more levels !

gettingrekt 2019-04-29 19:51

Really nice and polished game, the animations really gave the characters... well character! Everything fit, and the maps were just challenging enough for a game jam. Great job!

big-cow 2019-04-29 19:52

Yeah this was pretty much the perfect ld entry for me and would have passed for a perfectly well polished NES game I reckon back in the day. Its just a lot of small things that add up to a really nice piece of work. Perfect length for LD entry, challenging (some screen needed a couple of attempts) but not too hard, brilliant and unique cute retro style in audio and visuals (also wtf cup/teabag face -genius), controls simple, really nice music with variants for menu, game play and end, you even had time to create an end sequence that was really satisfying. There is real skill and passion shining through here from the sound and graphics guys and the puzzle dynamics and controls are well executed too. I am really happy for this entry. You guys are gonna go far. Thank you -RS

pierre-cilluffo 2019-04-29 20:48

This game is great ! The levels are very good and I would liked to have more !

velvetlobster 2019-04-30 03:14

perfect title! I have seen similar ideas in this ld before, but this one is really well polished. the colors, the music and the mechacnis all seem to belong to a real full game ... this could be a nice mobile game even for kids for sure

t3nshi 2019-04-30 10:45

I loved the animations and vibrant colors!! I especially loved the refilling animation!

dumivid 2019-04-30 14:25

S.M.O.O.T.H. The game is amazing, however guys...2019... Web implementation is the king, and this is a shame bc the sole reason why your game won't be played twice as much is the fact that you can't play it on the browser. Besides being short/easy, I have no other "complain", great work.

koni 2019-04-30 16:10

@dumivid Yeah we had some errors making a web build but we're working on it :)

Edit: Webbrowser version is up!

zhanna 2019-04-30 16:25

Whoa that's rare I think I love pretty everything about this game and I would like to play more of it.

Great entry!

anderssonkev 2019-04-30 16:28

@dumivid A Web build is now live!

yursa 2019-04-30 17:04

Overall cute. Cute visual style and music. I waited until the end for the game to issue a more difficult task, but this did not happen. It is possible to lay more drops on the level so that the player does not run to the only water in the shortest way.

jvolonte 2019-04-30 18:51

Original. Great art, audio and mechanics! Heartwarming ending :)I had fun but most importantly, I loved the sugar dude's face ^^

veryeviltomato 2019-04-30 18:59

Awesomely made puzzle! Every aspect of the game is really well polished. The shadows in some of the table objects look a bit weird but the game overall looks and feels fantastic.

Gotta say I got a bit confused on how to beat the candle level as I'd run out of drops in the last move!

kpedatte 2019-04-30 19:06

Your game is amazing. Really fun and theses graphics *_* The gameplay is pretty basic (but for a jam, it's really good). A bit sad to reach the end that fast. I'll check later if this game got new levels.

Congrats

siryakko 2019-04-30 21:16

Short but cute, juicy and really chill music. Dug it !

sn4pi 2019-04-30 22:09

I love it! The audio is my absolute favourite of the games I played for now, the art is simple and crunchy and the gameplay is so polished! Some puzzles could have been a bit more difficult but I guess you didn't have the time to do so

dexfrost89 2019-04-30 23:27

I really like this game a lot! Very beautiful art and animations and nice gameplay. Thanks for this game. It was really a pleasure to play it.

mironx 2019-04-30 23:32

Nice game. But, sorry, I did not like the "blops" (sound of cup moving). It seems a litle bit weird combining with all other sounds and this lovely music.

I really envy your arts and animations. They seem so cool and I just can't get this level of arts. So envy...

As for gameplay, It seems a litle bit to simple to get through the puzzle and too short for such a lovely game. May be you should do a longer version.

kichex 2019-05-01 00:31

I think this is an example of how much a game can benefit from a good design. Apart from the beautiful art, the game design feels really well thought, setting a few basic mechanics and let the level design do its work.

some of the best I've seen so far <3

ropedog 2019-05-01 01:17

I really like the look and feel of this game, and the music is great. Love the bossa style groove during gameplay. The scene transitions are well done, and restarting the current area quickly on death keeps you going. I played through to the end, and I found that the puzzles increased in difficulty at a good pace. I think maybe the last one or the second to last one seemed a little easy compared to what led up to it. Well polished game, and a great entry!

prideling 2019-05-01 01:43

This is so good! It's simple, easy to understand, so pretty, fun to play, and the music is so chill! The level design is solid and it's obvious you guys had a very clear idea of what the scope of the game had to be going in. I would have perhaps liked the last room to be a little more challenging but that's just me nitpicking at this point. Fantastic work, you guys!

paulhocker 2019-05-01 03:44

so many good things about this game -- really a very nice polished game -- thanks for making it

dock-frankenstein 2019-05-01 11:01

The only problem that I experienced was that itch.io makes it's own separate full screen button, so there are two (itch.io and unity)!

tapehead 2019-05-01 13:00

This game just throw me back to my childhood! The art and the music are great! Do not what to say .. except i love this game!

dusterherz 2019-05-01 13:45

The theme of the graphics is really good and all, and the gameplay is cool  I think i had a bug the lifebar didn't show and it was difficult to know where I was on my life. Another thing I think you should force the player to stop when the milk is refilled ;) I didn't understand the first time and died everytime in the second screen because of that. Well done !

tamail 2019-05-01 13:46

This game is SO good! The best one I played this from this LD so far! I love the music, the art, the gameplay. It's so easy to understand and to play. It's really fun to play, I love it. :)

anderssonkev 2019-05-01 13:56

@dusterherz Glad to hear that you like the game! Sorry that you ran in to a bug, the game *should* lock the player's input when it's being refilled. Might be another bug.

carpin 2019-05-01 13:59

Awwwwww, it's super funny! hahaha. I love the artstyle and the level desing it's perfect! I wanted to played more, hope you keep making levels!

hugovaz 2019-05-01 14:20

Top 10 games! Good work!

scofflaw-games 2019-05-01 14:57

Very nice!! Beautiful, well rounded, well polished, short but sweet!!!

trozen 2019-05-01 15:05

This is a really well executed game! You guys built a very well polished experience here. These are the best kinds of LD entries to play and I had a great time.

Things I liked: * The pixel art and animations in this game are extremely well done. Kudos to the artist, they really made this entry stand out. * Lots of polish. Things like the player's face changing as you run out of tea, the weird milk jug that refills you, and the stylized tea meter. * The music sounded good and was a great fit, and the SFX really meshed well with the animations. * The length of this game is perfect for an LD experience.

Things I would change: * The game didn't present much of a challenge to me. Though I know this can be hard to get right for the wide LD audience. * Mechanically the enemies didn't seem very different. Mostly it was just walk up to them, spend tea, and bypass. The rolling one was cool.

Great job!

anderssonkev 2019-05-01 15:49

@trozen Thank you for the list of feedback! Glad to hear that you had a great time!

marsepstein 2019-05-01 17:16

I love that you actually offered an android app! Downloaded and played, and enjoyed the interactions and music. The death was so cute that I didn't mind, haha.

One tweak I would suggest is the ability to pick a space (like 5 to the right) and let the cup move that far and spend that much water, so the 'right, right, right, right' action is less tedious.

anderssonkev 2019-05-01 17:33

@marsepstein Yeah I thought so as well when playing the android version. Could make it so that if you hold down your finger then the cup continues to jump in the same direction.

Thank you so much for playing, glad that you liked the death animation! :D

miu 2019-05-01 18:04

wow that's good, I love the music and all, honestly!

cnnmon 2019-05-01 20:44

this is such a clever and cute concept!! i really enjoy how dynamic and colorful everything looks and love how it's not too punishing when you mess up. music really helps set the mood too!

jjjjason 2019-05-02 02:33

This is a full game, minus a couple dozen more puzzles and enemy types. The attention to detail is immaculate--graphics are all cute *and* cohesive, with everything having an in-world justification. Music is good, but it's also simple which means it doesn't get annoying when looping. Puzzles are not braindead, but they're also not very hard, which is probably a good thing in Ludum Dare where you want everyone to finish the game hopefully.

Extremely well crafted, fantastic work.

flamus 2019-05-02 09:06

This game looks so good! Congrats on making good looking game, with a good music and a nice gameplay. I was impressed with number of enemies and small details, like eggs made few diffrent ways. Congrats!

palsina 2019-05-02 11:49

So so good, bonus points for remindming me of the old Micromachines games! I also liked the level design, it's easy, but that's perfect for the Jam, allows you to get a feeling of the game, like the first world of a full game.

koni 2019-05-02 18:00

Omg you guys are so kind!! Thank you so much. This really made my day ❤️

elrobo 2019-05-04 02:30

Very cute, was a nice frustration free experience.

le-slo 2019-05-04 10:37

The game is superpolished! I would recommend doing little variation on the pitch of the movement so it the variance makes the sound feel less repetitive. The art is cute and beautiful, the animations very detailed, and the whole vibe suits very nicely with the music. The weakest point here is in the design and level design, difficult to know how much water a drop will give, how much water will I spend on an enemy or how far I can reach with my current water; nonetheless level where almost trivial, so "solution" almost pop up when looking at the level, that makes the game much more accessible, but there isn't a real difficulty curve. Beyond that the game was very fun to play, good work!

karmicretribution 2019-05-04 20:48

Super cute & quirky design, absolutely stellar sound & music. The puzzles themselves could use some work for more variety and challenge, but overall a wonderfully charming little game!

flaterectomy 2019-05-05 16:33

Just saw your game in Randomisee User's video and decided to play through it myself. The art is chock-full of character, I am absolutely jealous of that kind of signature style. The soundtrack works very well for this style of game, kind of having an elevator-music style to it (I mean that in a good way, very pleasant and relaxing).

The puzzles aren't very challenging, but I did screw up my movement a few times so had to restart levels. All in all I think the game is very well geared to jam players who don't generally spend a lot of time on games as there's plenty to play and rate. Were this more than a jam game, I would've liked more of a difficult arc to it.

arron-fowler 2019-05-05 17:00

I enjoyed this. I thought the puzzle element grew in complexity nicely. The swiping got a bit tedious after a while on my phone. Great job

recursor 2019-05-05 19:37

The little teacup character is very cute and makes for a perfect player. I enjoyed the puzzles and would have liked to see more, but that is quite understandable due to the time limit. Nicely done!

coatline 2019-05-05 19:37

Wow this was fun. You don't see many puzzle games in LD and this one happened to be done very well! I wish that there were more levels and maybe more elements to the game. I was very impressed with the amount of art you did and it was done well.

mika-la-grand 2019-05-06 17:35

Good art and animations, level design and music. Only complaint is that the margin for error was pretty much non existant, so it would have been nice if you can revert steps with z instead of redoing parts, but it didn't matter as much since each section wasn't that long. The game was also quite short in general, quality over quantity is not bad though.

peachtreeoath 2019-05-07 03:06

Very engaging game that kept me interested the whole time. I thought that was unusual because normally I might start getting bored if a game is too simple but the whole world pulled me in, and also the levels were tuned just right to make it feel like you were making it to the finish line juuuust in time. The art is astonishing. I loved all the little effects you guys did, even the title screen where you faked a few shadows, and the moving square backgrounds that moved at a steep angle rather than 45 degs... just so many great touches. The music reminds me of Earthbound which is one of my faves, so you also get a lot of points there. Really polished game and it makes me want to reach those levels too.

ayama 2019-05-07 14:31

This is such a cute game:D The music and art is so lovely. I just want to play more levels.

joemanaco 2019-05-07 16:23

Great Game. OMG, that song is so great. Reminds me of the wii shop theme :-)

stevenjmiller 2019-05-11 04:55

Amazing art and overall presentation. My only complaint is that the levels are currently fairly trivial. I would love to see a version with more difficult levels (and potentially an undo button to prevent them from getting frustrating), and perhaps the option to move with the arrow keys as well.

seriouslycrunchy 2019-05-13 15:20

Short but so very very sweet. Polished to perfection great graphics and animations, nice sound and music (my only complaint being that some of the sound effects seem a bit loud when added to the music), not too hard, not too easy. Got to be a top 10 game right here.

ddrkirbyisq 2019-05-15 00:05

Short and sweet, as mentioned above. My main critique is with the level design, which I feel could be much more elegant and "puzzley". There are a LOT of elements placed on the board that can be completely ignored, each stage felt more freeform than puzzle. While that may be a conscious design decision (?) I feel like that doesn't quite play to the strengths of your game mechanic (limited number of moves, try to optimize for the least number of steps). I'm not saying you need to have fiendishly difficult puzzles by any means, just that I feel the puzzles should be more contained and less wasteful, if that makes any sense.

That said, designing good puzzles during an LD timeframe is terribly difficult so I won't mark you off too hard for it :)

pl4typus 2019-05-15 10:06

Awesome music. Absolutely gorgeous, fits the atmosphere, also the menu and ending theme. Nice.

About the art, it is cute, nicely done. Not my cup of tea ( ;) ) but it's very good work :) (idk if the "cup of tea" pun is something you say in english)

**BUT** there is one BIG problem with your game: the level design. If some say it is well thought out, I argue that there are some problems with it: + First, your level design is movement perfect for most of the screens, which leads to strange things: I felt that because I finished the levels with no health, this god-figure that replenish your health at the end of each level was the only thing that made me progress in your levels, not my own movements, choices and decisions of micro-managing this health bar. Maybe you could have given a bit more freedom for your player, this god-like figure giving then not always the same amount of water but would give water until we have a specific amount. This would lead to the player having to "make his path" through the levels and yet having to do with "what you gives him". Other elements could go in this direction: seeing above ennemies of water bubbles how much they require to pass trhough or how much they give you, and if this leads to a screen that you can entirely reads before going, you can add difficulty by making one level two-screens, or making the ennemies moving ... + On this note again, I said that **_most_** of the screens were movement perfect but not all. This led me advance a level with one health less than what was required to beat the level. Thus, making it impossible to beat (level design bug). I had to reload the page to go to this level again with only the right way to have all the healths required...

Well, tell me what you think ... Thge last point was clearly a bad experience for me but hey, it's a Jam game ^^
