Very cool!
Good music, great idea and funny as well, overall a very solid entry. It would be nice if it remembered the window size when you accidentally close them. And I want to point out I pay solid money to be able to hover over folder in Windows and see the size of it that quickly.
@freypodgames Thank you!
@listonos Hahaha, if only pcs were that quick. Thanks! The window size suggestion is definitely something I'd put in if I ever continued the game outside the Compo.
I like this game quite a bit. The aesthetic is nice and minimalistic. The music and sounds match the game well. Its easy to get lost in the files and makes for a difficult time finding the viruses, especially for my pea brain.
Fun game! Every folder was interesting to open just to see what could be inside. Very nice!
@hive-mind Thanks!
Really cool and competitive game! Would love to see what scores others get and try to beat them. Great job :)

edit: **whoopsie this sent twice since the site is being really laggy atm*
Amazing Idea. Good job. I love all the Easter eggs inside the different folders.
I got so distracted by the folder and virus names I didn't even notice I'd lost! Awesome stuff.
Nice entry! Strong implementation of the theme, a real "oof" moment when I got the bluescreen. Probably not the best thing to play with trackpad...
Graphics and sound were good given the 48-hour limit.
Love the idea. Although I was kinda confused, wasn't really motivated to play
Took me a while to figure out that you could scroll the windows but I'm an idiot so you have to take that into account. I'm always impressed when people manage to get decent music into a compo game, and combined with the art it gives the game a lot of character. It's fun just looking around in the folders.
Nice take on the theme, interesting journey through all the folders :P
I got a despacito virus. Interesting idea and very well executed.
Good job!
Great concept, very humorous, Well designed. Was fun to explore around the desktop and folders but that comes with its downfall as well. All the hidden memes kept me distracted from the core game other than just a sideshow.
Overall good game and fun to play! Great work!
@fadex That is a completely fair opinion, thanks for playing!
I saw some pictures of this in the main feed during my delirium of programming. It's cool to be able to play the finished product.
I think the folder names here were key. I'd be navigating after the latest bug and then go "Wait? What? What was that folder I just clicked on?..." Many enjoyable moments there.
It would have been cool to have a pie chart or something similar showing total disk space. File tree charts showing space consumed by each file are one of my favorite things. That would have made a good alternate end screen, showing which unattended folder led to your doom.
Regardless, this game is quite fun and the levity of the desktop environment only helped make the game more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing your game.
@reboundgames Thanks for your comment! You can resize explorer windows as well ;) Tried to make the interface as close to an actual OS interface as I could in the short amount of time.
@thepelranthean Thanks! :) The other ways of displaying the data would be a very interesting task if I ever decide to continue developing this :D
excellent! love the twist on the theme. Very creative. The music is also great!
The idea is so hilarious... Really fun to see what's inside the folders. And it is funny to see "You can't delete folders, it is cheating" when I tried to do so. :)
awesome game man, so fun!
Nice use of the theme, the game itself is really fun and I can see myself trying to beat my record on it. Keep up the great work.
Really cool game, especially the music. As for me, sometimes gameplay is too slow, but the most of time it isn't:)
Cool game!! Loved the easter eggs!!
I liked the game. Became a bit tedious though.
@erendelous Yup I made it start slow to give new players a bit of time to figure out how to navigate the explorer and understand what they need to do, perhaps explore the folders and the random text files. But it speeds up exponentially and becomes pretty fast in a couple of minutes.
Thanks for playing! :)
Thats a cool little game! Really enjoyable, but I think there should me more subcatalogs, since right now you basically have to only look at the top-level catalogs. Anyway I like it :)
Innovative concept, too bad you were tired because adding more storytelling hidden in txt files would add up so much to the game, it would keep interest and also distract from the main goal
nice concept... interactive and easy to play... running out of space is relatable to the virus which is generated automatically. information while hovering over the folder was really useful.
You did a great job on the music, and I really liked reading the notes you left behind. It made me try to scavenge for the rest of them.
Great entry! I really enjoyed the easter eggs. I felt clever when I found out that you could see the space decreasing visually by checking the folders, but ultimately fell by the gigantic 1.4 GB Butt virus. Well done, thanks for making this game.
Really fun game, it was quite challenging but the game mechanics were very well implemented, you got that spot with the theme! The distractions were well balanced since they didn't ever become annoying, they just added an extra twist to the game.
It would have been nice to be able to click on a window to become "focused" so the windows would appear in front of everything else. Now you were kind of limited on how many windows you can have open at the same time.
All in all, very fun game. It is quite similar to mine but has a the aspect of navigating folders, I'd appreciate it very much if check out my game
@linus You can focus windows by clicking the blue bar :) Couldn't get it to focus when you click the white. :(
@bigbosserndog I see, I never tried clicking the blue bar.
@ildfuglen Hahaha I love the way you put that, sounds like you had a good time with the game. Thanks! :D
Really enjoyed how it looked and when I tried to delete an entire folder that the game told me I cheated. I liked the feel of the artwork and it felt like an old computer. Interesting that you could open multiple file explorer and have each focused on a single folder.
Very nice...
So cool! I couldn't stop playing hahaha, great work
Hilarious.
I loved the "despacito2" virus, hahaha, nice game. Cool mechanics with some surprises along the way. The only thing is; it's a bit slow paced but apart of that, felt really good, good job.
Awesome game!! I wanted to keep getting a better time and played quite a few times :) The first few times I mainly read through the text of many of the files you had in there. I really liked those, gave this game a personal touch.
Anyway, one of my favorites from the games I've played so far.
Nice attention to detail on the folders and their contents. I definitely enjoyed clicking through and looking around!
Butt.vir made me laugh also but I'm immature like that.
I don't feel like I did that well with my best time being about 2 minutes out of a few attempts but you nailed the theme and I didn't know how to give you props for all the details so I rated 'mood' for that, hoping others do the same and you get the scores you deserve!
Cool game! I really like that! I wanted to keep the computer alive for a longer time but I can't :( .vir files are reaaaaaally interesting! Great work!
A good use of the theme and you captured the Windows look/feel pretty well. The notes were interesting to find and read.
I think it could be improved if the searching for virus file was a bit more guided and less "needle in a haystack" searching and relying on luck.
The music was OK but some more sound effects would have been good, especially since you're supposed to be using a computer.
Was funny to look at all the folders. Found that I died around the same time no matter whether I found viruses or not though? (around a minute 45?)
Ahaha that was good! I liked how the OS UI worked exactly like windows does in a few ways. ie I accidentally clicked a document too many times and it opened up twice. Overall tho, more responsive than IRL windows so a good score from me.
@kodiqi Hi, that is what the usage hud is for when you hover over a folder. It acts as a radar for viruses :)
Really cool idea! Had a lot of fun going through these folders trying to get rid of these viruses!
Interesting, but, errrrr, too many folders - i cannot serv all them. And some folders not to moving in parent folder when drag'n'drop them on '../' I think, better bind 'back to parent folder' on 'space' button, to more fast searching.
Haha, spent too much time reading to save this computer. At least it wasn't my own as it felt I was spying and stalking through someones else's secret folders. While the gameplay is pretty random regarding if you find viruses or not, I like the personal touch of this entry.
I really like the concept ! But there is a bug sometimes I can't close windows because they pop up out of the screen and hide the bin (but I can still drag and drop in the bin)
@devwithmartinus Hi, to clarify you mean the pop up windows are appearing so the blue bar of the window is out of the screen so you cannot drag or close it? I've put tested counter measures in the game to ensure that doesn't happen, but if this issue is still a problem please let me know :)
Otherwise, if you mean the pop ups sometimes appear to cover the bin, you can move them with the blue bar. Also, if you mean even if a pop up is covering the bin you can still place stuff in the bin, this is an unintended consequence of simply using rectangles. I didn't have enough time to make it do checks with every rectangle on the screen to make sure it's not in any other window.
This should answer your question (it was a little vague and I didn't understand what the problem was, haha), let me know if I got it wrong :)
@bigbosserndog I play again and in fact when my browser is at 100% zoom the top of the game is hide, I have to unzoom to 80% to see the whole "game screen". (By the way the music theme is very catchy)
@devwithmartinus Ah ok! Sorry about that, the game is 1280 x 720 (very large) haha. Thank you! :)
Nice approach on the theme and good humor. I don't know if I played it the wrong way, but I felt it wasn't fun navigating through the folders searching for viruses.
@fritz That's fair, thank you for playing :D
Game wouldn't let me delete sys32, literally unplayable. (Hella creative entry, good work!)
@jelplmr Hahaha thanks!
Really nice for a first entry, it works very well, the music may not be suitable and we would like to find pictures or other things by searching the hard drive for the virus! It would really grow in search of a fun way! Nice job!
It's funny made :) however, I'm having less than 200MB then suddenly - 1.97GB full. And no blue screen! I wanted to finally see BSOD on my mac! ;)
@kamilko Yeah lol, they grow exponentially so if you leave a few of them hanging it tends to jump like that haha.
That game is amazing  Really cool idea and enjoyed playing it. Virus names are also great. Good job!
The concept is 100% coincide with the theme, but I feel like I don't have enough pressure to continue to search for viruses.
I really liked it! Fun light theme, clever gameplay. It took me way too long to realize I could scroll the windows.
This was a great game and really fun to play. The mood was very upbeat which I really liked. I found the folder structure to be hilarious as well as the naming of the viruses 5/5 for humor. That was a great game to play. I hope that you will come out with a leader board.
@skippynose2 Hi, the Newgrounds version has Newgrounds leaderboard support. You can log in to Newgrounds and compete with others for highscores :)
I enjoyed it far more than I expected. The design was nice and minimal and the humor subtle and satisfying. Great work
A nice fun little game that was quite nice, however I encountered a problem in which halfway through the game would just freeze and stop working.
Nevertheless, enjoyed it.
Nice Game, but I found some other Games with very similar ideas.
@gerox Haha, yeah, I saw a few that play with space as computer storage. Hopefully mine's a good implementation of it :)
A cool and funny game, well done!
 I really liked the minimal OS aesthetic. This was a very good take on the theme, it's a bit obvious, but you realized the idea very well, and added a nice spin on it.
:point_right: It could be that I was playing on a trackpad, but I found the actual gameplay a bit frustrating. Maybe some hotkeys could help when the player doesn't have a mouse. It's clear you put a lot of work into the mechanics, but I think it could use just a bit more refinement before it gets players like me (bad a twitchy games) to get into it.
:bulb: The pseudo-genre of "Computer OS Games" is growing nicely. I could see some of the mechanics in here mixing nicely with a game like Kingsway.
:star: Overall good job, and thank you for making this.
@hitchh1k3r Thank you for your very well structured review and good criticism :D
This really sticks out in the sea of the computer os based games in this Ludum Dare! Nice idea, good gameplay, minimalistic but nice art. Keep up the good work!
Very cool game ! I like the fact that you have to go deep in every folder ahah (and the alert for trying to cheat x) )
Nice job !! A really good compo game :)
btw, maybe you could checkout our jam game for us to get feedbacks ?! :p
Hi, nice job! The graphics part is correct, the musical part is a little bit repetitive, but still good =). the concept is original and surprising.
Good Job !
I love this! This take on the theme has been done a fair bit but this is a really great example of execution of that. Minimalist and humorous. I had a lot of fun wasting time reading the text files and the names of the folders and viruses were great. The result of attempting to delete folders was fun, too.
I kept double-clicking, which opened multiple instances of things. Oops, habits and such ;)
This is a really solid compo entry!
