LD39 — Running out of Power

Kingin' It by JoshyOshKenoshi 2017-12-04T23:38:14Z

Rooster crowing noise 10/10 and unexpected. I learned I am not fit to rule a kingdom as I was beheaded on day 3.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Mountain Diver by Ithildin 2017-12-09T20:21:21Z

Fun game, my only complaint was what @moski mentioned with trying to use ctrl+D in the HTML build ends with a new bookmark. All part of your plot to get us on your page more, of course, right??

I liked the theme tie in though, and the ctrl to boost wasn't an issue when I realized I could just press the POW button!

Do you have the colour? by saintheiser 2017-12-09T20:35:42Z

I ended up getting 40 on my second run (we don't talk about the first run.) Really liked how some colors would be a "easy peasy" if you didn't have similar colors, and that started getting less and less as you got more right.

I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but the outline and shadow around the bottom colors and not the top makes it harder to properly match the colors since there is somewhat of an optical illusion based on how colors are perceived. Overall fun and fits the theme, good job!

Couple ideas if you wanted to expand on it, have a "I don't have the color" option that adds that color as a bonus maybe? Might have to not have a penalty for getting it wrong or give double points or something to even it out. You could also have a mode with additive comparisons (i.e. green+yellow = which of these colors below?). Not sure how enjoyable that would be to play though.

Takomakase by Zambini 2017-12-10T01:15:15Z

Reminds me of those old learn to type games. Even though I can type, it was pretty challenging. Definitely not used to so many inputs!

LDAX: Ludum Dare Asset Exchange by foolmoron 2017-12-04T23:48:14Z

Cool concept, and always nice to have something educational too! Found a glitch that you can abuse pretty easily to get a lot of money quickly though: LDACX.png

If I hadn't messed up, I probably could have kept going with it!

Substance by niborious 2017-12-04T05:41:36Z

The pacing of the game and the increasing difficult of waves made this a nice little roguelike esque game. Had a few "screaming like a little girl" moments while racing back to the exit!

I'm Over Encumbered! by masamunedragon 2017-12-08T00:54:19Z

The only thing I wish was that there was some sort of roguelike level up system at the end of the game to spend loot on, but that would be a stretch for such a short dev time.

Not sure if it was intentional or not, but the gold cubes have collision when your bag is full, and makes the game world more dangerous as even if you kill enemies the remnants still make it hard to move around - which really goes well with the theme!

The Star War 2: The quest for more money by eerongal 2017-12-10T17:06:49Z

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that. 5/5 humor easily.

Money Laundering Simulator by candlesan 2017-12-10T04:55:13Z

This game has some of that "stuff" that some games have. Where it isn't that it's overly pretty, or polished, or a AAA complex game - but it's remarkably fun, and leaves you thinking "why hasn't anybody done this before??"

Had a lot of fun, thanks for the game!

Danger Noodle by Matthew Roelle 2017-12-05T01:01:37Z

Really enjoyed the different take on snake, was nice being able to let the snake sit in one spot, but at the same time made timing difficult.

The only thing was I wish I didn't have a life limit, since starting over each time was a bit aggravating (mostly because I was not very good at the game).

Red eats Yellow! by Xynal 2017-12-09T16:32:29Z

I like the concept overall, but it needed a bit of playtesting I think. It seems like the player slows down the more dots you get, which is slightly aggravating with how slow the player moves to begin with.

Making the levels larger and the character move faster would have made the play more entertaining I think.

Heavy Hearts by Badly Drawn Rod 2017-12-09T20:27:55Z

Really good for 48 hours. Really the only thing I would have wanted more was a bit more content (i.e. different levels/enemies) which is primarily I'm sure due to the short period of time we all had :-)

Fruit Hater by SanyingLi 2017-12-09T16:24:58Z

The game was a pretty good take on the theme, and is kinda angry birds mixed with flappy bird. I'd say my only complaint with it is that if you hit a spike at all and fall right behind it, you might as well just restart the level. The invulnerability period isn't enough to actually let you get over the spike without hitting it at least one more time.

Metal Fear by LMB 2017-12-09T22:43:28Z

Tried to play, but everything was reaallly buggy in the html build :-(

Gods Fate by Vieruz 2017-12-11T01:24:17Z

Overall a pretty neat concept. I couldn't really grasp what consequences my actions had to the disciples. I got that "we want fire" means they want a storm, but overall a tutorial would have helped! (Not that you had time for a tutorial!)

Watch Out Your Head by mipelius 2017-12-10T06:53:16Z

Found myself trying to go after coins every once in awhile even though I knew they were bad for me. Enjoyed the soundtrack a lot too!

Power Play by lawzy93 2017-12-05T04:56:08Z

You could see this as an overly ambitious entry that didn't quite make it, but maybe we all just got tricked into playing a clicker game

Find Gold! by Isogash 2017-12-04T05:20:31Z

Lots of fun!! Gave up around 64 deaths though, and didn't quite get all the gold.

Outnumbered by thebillington 2017-12-10T16:56:12Z

This game goes 0 - 60 reaalll fast. I'm a big fan of bullet shooters, and this fits in that niche nicely!

Would have wished for a bit more variety in enemies, but for 48 hours this was great and super fun!

UF-Ohh by SammyB 2017-12-04T12:33:55Z

Thanks for asking @niborious! The game does have a "victory" that can be accomplished fairly reliably within about 15 seconds. The hints are pretty useful for solving the puzzle, but you can PM me on Reddit (/u/PixelSpice) if you want the solution.

UF-Ohh by SammyB 2017-12-05T05:20:53Z

@Nammflow the third level is actually intended to force you to learn the teleport! Not every level can be solved without the teleport, so sometimes the randomness does end up getting you killed. Would have liked to have spent more time on the puzzles and have teleport to specific points instead of random, but didn't end up adding that.

UF-Ohh by SammyB 2017-12-08T00:47:32Z

@samboyer276 @Jani-nykanen Not sure if you noticed, but you can use ZECQ to move diagonally a bit more reliably. I think mouse controls probably would have worked better, but originally I was going with W+D, A+S etc for diagonal movement, but like you mentioned it wasn't very consistent.

UF-Ohh by SammyB 2017-12-09T22:33:43Z

@badly-drawn-rod that's a fantastic idea! I don't have a number pad and sometimes forget they exist.

@ithildin - here's a hint - the level where you are completely surrounded (kinda looks like a face) doesn't require any luck to beat - there are actually two non-teleport solutions to that one. The game is actually meant to be more frustrating the more cows you have - and you have a way to control the number of cows you have ;-)

UF-Ohh by SammyB 2017-12-10T16:49:04Z

Hey @insality, you aren't going crazy, you do teleport to previous levels sometimes. The description alludes to this, but the number of cows you have at the end of the level controls which level you go to next!

> Collect all the cows in a level to teleport to the next based on your CowPower, and reach the portal to return to your home world!

Fatigue Blade by Clayton Schuyler 2017-12-04T05:32:51Z

Pretty fun little game, and a neat concept to force you to button mash to get long range attacks. By the way @omnipotentindie, in case you didn't use all your stamina, you get a ranged attack when your stamina bar is low enough!

The graphics are the weak point, but the final boss art was fantastic with the overall theme!
