I cant get the download working, have you got an alternative?

darylsteak 2017-12-04 02:20

The link has been changed to a public link, it should work now but just in case id like you to test it.

How do you run it? It's a .mfa file.

darylsteak 2017-12-04 02:34

I like it! gets rather difficult and it's really tense when you're moving a large cargo and being chased simultaneously.

interesting game, i kept running around buying up stuff and selling it, and for a while i was just getting my money back, but then i started to make money. then i ran the ship into ground evading a pirate lol.

I love trading games! Running with 10 cargo while watching a ton of red circles approach you was the scariest thing ever lol. Really fun, and great sound effects!

mark-kennedy 2017-12-04 06:03

That was interesting, It's been a long time since I've played a trading game. Major shout out for using Fusion!I love that engine, as quirky as it is. Checkout ZenTacoProductions on YouTube. if you want solid fusion tutorials, he does slurp in his videos though, be forwarned.

darylsteak 2017-12-04 06:10

Hah, I already watch him, his tutorials are great, best of luck on your game.

Neat simple trading game. The pirate behavior is a bit simplistic which can lead to repetitive game play (you know exactly how much you can carry before you are in danger). Perhaps some variability in the detection of pirates - as well as more dynamic pirate movement could improve the sense of tension.

Interesting game, i like it. I'm not sure that failing if you collide with land adds anything to the game. Simply not being able to move there wouldn't be as frustrating. But besides that i like it!

Very minimalistic, yet great and nice atmosphere.

This is what killed me the first time (you put it there on purpose, didn't you ): stdrt_2017-12-04_18-30-11.png

Good job!

pvtroswold 2017-12-04 23:15

This is fun! Rather relaxing feel, except for when you're desperately trying to reach the port before you get pirate-d!

I'm a big fan of this style of simulation games. The expanded zone of pirate attention in relation to cargo was an interesting take on the theme and the gameplay was fun and engaging. The sound effects were a nice touch, but music would have added a lot to it.

I think having contact with the land resulting in an instant loss is a bit much. If you want a consequence for nearing the land masses, perhaps consider having a few hits before your ship sinks, or lossing some days while you make repairs. I also had an issue with one of the docks not allowing me to buy or sell.

I would love to see this expanded and the inclusion of new ships and upgrades, various types of cargo, and simulated ship combat. Keep up the great work!
