The background is very soothing, I shot the turkey by accident so many times ahah. The reloading makes the game quite challenging as sometimes more than 3 enemies are coming for your turkey, so you have to be strategic with where the turkey is going.
Good job!
Nice parallax effects, the gameplay is simple but fun, I love the tutorials and the newspaper theming. The game was harder than I expected. Graphics are nice but I think they have some dpi issues. I love the turkey's sound effects. Good work!
The gameplay was fun and I quite like the iconic artstyle, great job!

Nice mechanics and art. The thing I like the most is that you can change direction of your turkey walkI like it! Good job.
Very fun and humorous. I found that the mechanic of trying to defend the turkey while needing to change your position to not shoot it quite challenging but still fun.
The game is really funny ^^ The art is really nice, and the music is good ! I didn't manage to finish the game, but it was a fun experience :)
The only problem is that the fullscreen does not scale, and since you are not using the key "q", you can make it also go to the left, so the azerty layout don't have to switch to qwerty layouts ;) (also, you opt-out of the music category, why? Do you have a link to the music if you did not make it? Just by curiosity ^^ )
Gros poutou de Belgique !
@dodormeur Thanks for your nice review ! Yeah we always struggle with resolution and unity WebGL builds. We tried to build with a Full HD resolution (1920x1080) but although it was perfect on fullscreen, it did not scale down in the browser's tiny window. We thought that most of players wouldn't activate fullscreen so we kept a small resolution for now.
I also thought about the "q" key between two rushes, but then I came back to other stuff and forgot about it. We may make a quick rebuild to add it =)
About the music, we opted out of this category because we didn't make it ourselves (we wanted to but we lacked the time and knowledge to do it). It is called Pixie Soldier and has been made by FX DUPAS. You can find it [here](https://www.harriswolff.com/fr/piste/665).
All turkey noises are homemade though !
Poutou du Poitou !

Excellent work! Really enjoyed it! Mechanic was nice trying to avoid shooting the turkey. I kept thinking "I'll never shoot the turkey" but I did accidentally several times and I thought I guess I don't really need to use reload but found some ways to optimise by using it so great use of all the mechanics!

Fun, simple game. I liked the background artwork and the newspaper-like menu. It's cool that the player must use the positioning well. I would switch the colours of the playable character a bit tho. Maybe it's just me, but it just didn't fit with the rest of the characters nor the background. Maybe something with saturation or value. Btw I killed the turkey by accident so many times...
It's hard to protect the bird, but it's fun. It's good with good music and good graphics.

Nice and challenging idea !
Awesome job!! Really love the humour of this game and the sound really plays on that. My girlfriend loved your progress bar too. Putting the how to play in was very useful. We ran out of time to put it in our game lol!
Ca m'a fait pouffer de devoir tirer le mec en vélo. Bien joué! C'est bien réalisé et divertissant!
love the art style. Nice cover pic. the moment i heard the turkey sound at the beginning of the game, i was hooked. figured out that you can slow the pace a bit by moving turkey back and forth. gives you a little more time to get the foxes on both sides.

Best game i played so far. Nice gamedesign, it was challenging and very funny to play! J'adore la pintade Glouglouglou ! Problem with you WebGL template ? i have the solution with our unity asset plugin "Universal WebGL Template" i would be glad to offer you a free licence if you want !
Balancing the turkey's movements and accidentally using it as a shield for other animals is really cool. Aside from some transitions between animations or different screens, the whole game felt really complete and cohesive. I think that you can do a ton more with this outside of the Jam's time restrictions; I'd love to see what you can come up with in the future.
you have done really good job! I had a lot of fun playing your game :D I also finished level and I was satisfacied. The best mechanic was that turkey always run away from me.
I saw that red laser between men and turkey, Would be cool if that laser could be turned on also for another animalas

Nice game, digging the turkey sound. Obviously the game could use some more polish, but hey, it's only 72, we didn't do much of it in our game too. But graphics is nice and gameplay feels responsive, interesting enough for the scope and also challenging enough.
What bothered me a bit was hit testing for the turkey. It feels like the hitbox is reacting even when you hit just its corner, so no visual part of turkey, is hit, e.g. when you stand right behind the turkey, so the gun is way above it's head and should not hit it at all. That part felt like the game is cheesing you, which didn't feel very good.
Also once or twice I found myself in situation that felt like it should have been last minute save, where the enemy was really close to turkey, but visually not close enough, when I hit it, but then hitboxes just collided and enemy killed the turkey, so instead of that "wow that was close, but cool as hell" feeling I had just "damn, that shouldn't have been so close!" I think you always should allow your player to do this kind of last minute save, it feels really amazing. Even when you need to bend the rules to not be completely fair :)
So better turkey hit testing and allowing player to kill the enemy in the very last second and feel tense but also great about it, that would be my suggestions :)
Overall it's a very solid game, managable scope, fun mechanics, neat execution, looks good, has style. Totally would play again! :)
@honey Thank you for your feedback ! Yeah I see what's going on with the colliders. The reason why it does that is because the bullet was so fast that its tiny collider would sometimes pass over colliders (especially cyclists and turkey ones, which are not that big). To solve this we reduced its speed but that wasn't enough so we also extended its collider behind it. It works really well that way, except that very moment where the gun passes just through the turkey. We could definitely do some enhancements there.
That is a smart reflexion concerning the extra time at the last moment, like a very short animation for the ennemy to grab/kill the turkey before it actually does it would be really cool I agree, and would also be another parameter to help balance the game, which would be nice.
I'm glad you enjoyed it !

@francescopanini what we did is raycasting for projectiles. That way I think it's easier to tweak the collision in higher speed and you are also in control of collision testing direction (eg you can test two units in the direction of projectile movement and none backwards, or something like that). I used to be a bit afraid of raycasting myself, but it is quite simple and powerful tool for this kind of mechanics.
Just to be clear, I mean that the projectile does the raycasting, not the gun. So it's more of a "where will I be in the next one/two frames," not really a hitscanning. I like it the way that it actually takes some time for the projectile to hit the target, makes it more fun, I'd say :)
@honey Oh that's smart, I wouldn't have thought of using raycasting that way. I'll keep that solution in mind.

Well done ! Very funny and addictive game :) I hesitated to shoot the human but don't we say that man is wolf to man ? x)
제목 없음.png I served him well! :smirk:
It was challenging to get to the end. I did not know whether I were to shoot the unicycling man at the first haha. I really liked the audio of your game. Nice turkey sfx and music. really nice turkey sfx
LOL, lots of killing in this game. It's really hard, and love the sfx in this one...
Feels a bit ironic saving a turkey for then get it killed at last :(
- The raycast is visible only when you aim at the turkey, and that feels pretty useless :) but I know it's a jam so that might have slipped. - You could have left open a time-window where if the fox or the bird caught the turkey you could have saved it nonetheless. - Plus it's really hard catch the fox :(
Thanks for the entry, sir
Really fun and challenging! Couldn't finish it although(too tough for me). Otherwise it was a really nice game.I loved the Sound effects of the game!! The newspaper canvas looked really nice! Excellent game!

I must say I had a good laugh playing this game, especially with the apparently useless gobble sound. It was challenging enough and fun. I needed a solid 5-6 runs to beat it. Sound in general was really good. I didn't like the death animations, but I don't expect too much for a 72 hour game. Overall really fun game, well in theme. Good job

Oh my god! Really fun and full of humor. Great game, nice work!
Solid entry to the jam, cute graphics, and a fun game overall! :) Actually rather difficult, I'll have to come back later and see if I can actually beat this game :)
