I was hoping somebody would take this type of interpretation of the theme lol
Ha! This is fantastic. I love it.
I died because I couldn't turn quick enough to go around a corner which I didn't like but apart from that it's a enjoyable game and a funny take on the theme. Nice little dance you do at the end :D
Liked the overview at the start so you can see where you are running. Music was okay, except for that mad snare!
Haha that is such an awesome way to think of the theme. Loved it!
Nice game, I thought the difficulty scaling as you progressed was spot on. Died on the last hurdle first time through so had to give it another go.
Love the interpretation of the theme, i would never have thought of literary running out of the word power :D great game!
Hahaha :D Clever idea for a level design and a name for the game. Took me 20 seconds to realise it. It's a neat little game too :P
Your interpretation of the theme is very original, I like it.
The left/right controls seem a bit clumsy. I died because I couldn't turn fast enough.
I really love the music ! It reminds me of the chip tunes from Gnomoria.
Overall, it's a very nice game, congrats !
Run out of "POWER", fun idea ! :) This was simple and welldone, good job.
Things I like: - The track is the logo. - The track becomes more difficult as you progress. - You have to master the track during multiple playthroughs to win.
Thing I like less: - The music is becomes repetitive after some playthroughs. - You have to start from the beginning every time you loose. A checkpoint in the middle would help.
I think your resolution on the itch.io embed should be bigger, I believe it cuts part of the game.
Overall it was **fun**. The art and audio were great for a game made in 2 days.
**However** the slow turning makes it kind of frustrating when at corners. I think this makes it just hard for no reason not challenging.
Good work, though!
An endless running that ends... EXTRAORDINARY! I think it's great the way it is, phooey on the naysayers. I could beat it, therefor it's good and perfect in every way! ;p
Only criticism I have is that I assumed that the orange obstacles would kill you if you touched them. I accidentally ran into a couple and nothing of note happened, intended?
Hey @oxrock, thanks, I think all the feedback has been really good, and really fair :) I decided not to make the orange walls deadly because my playtester (my wife) found it too frustrating. So I left is just as the jumping obstacles and the lava kill you :) Thanks for playing!!
Thanks to everyone for your feedback and suggestions!
At first I thought it was taking the theme a bit to literal, but when I saw the logo transition into the game I was sold on it. I really dig the colors, it reminds me bit of mirrors edge. I do feel like the game could have become progressively more difficult as you run a long. I also saw that you added some areas that appear to be dead ends but didn't really work well because the angle of the camera gave it away instantly. But otherwise really cool game you have here.
Great idea! I would love to see this game as a mobile game with tilt controls Nice work!
The twist on the theme is really clever. Unfortunately the game is far too easy and short.
I managed to succeed at my second attempt and run out of power, as well as game play.
But disregarding the shortness of the game, I had fun :) The music and sound are fitting, but may have drove me mad if the game was longer.
I agree also that the controls are hard-ish but that's what makes the game good.
Good work ;)
I love a good Dad joke... I never thought of this concept. Very clever!
The interpretation of the theme's great, and I love the intro sequence of the zoom-in. The game overall feels fairly floaty, which you tend to want to avoid in these genres. The jump lasts too long, the turning feels a bit clunky.
Two things the game's missing, which I think would have made it into a decent entry: - in a typical infinite runner, you either can't turn the character (only strafe) or turn only at 90/60 degrees. In this title, I could just turn around and run into a wall for arbitrarily long, and the sense of urgency and muscle memory inherent to the genre was lost. - checkpoints. You have a great system of subdividing the game into 5 levels, with a bridge across them. Just spawn the player on the last bridge if they die.
Still, it's not a bad effort. Keep it up.
I really like the interpretation of the theme, It was both funny and unique. I feel like the controls could have been a little more sensitive as it never really felt right rotating the character at that speed. I found it cool how you can see the whole maze from the initial screen and how the camera moves right from there to behind the character. Good work!
My dad got a good laugh out of this... :D Fun(ny) little game!
A very cool twist of the theme and the genre. The button you must Quit is not working :) I think that's ok! :rocket:
