Another cool game, the goal kinda reminds me of Shattered Pixel Dungeon where you have to defeat a god in order to Take the Amulett of Yendor. (Not 100% sure about the game though). It's an interesting idea that one can see what's gonna happen in the future.

tomdev 2017-07-31 11:38

I can see this game as a card game, stand out from the crowd, imo it is good

belowparallel-ian 2017-07-31 11:52

This is really good. I'm not really sure why I lost when I did though. Seemed like I lost due to not having enough attack, although the only instruction I read said you lose when you run out of power. I also didn't understand why I can't attack something on the first turn it comes into the play lane.

automatonvx 2017-07-31 12:09

Interesting game, took me a little while to figure out what was going on and what the power and attack on the right meant, maybe some labels would help for those not familiar with this style of game. With a little bit of UI tweaking to make it easier to understand for new users I think it has a lot of potential. Fun. The minimal pixel aesthetic is cool too.

oxrock 2017-07-31 13:55

Some sort of noob walk through would be great, but I think that's a pretty common thing to say. I being a mere noob was rather confused for quite some time as to how it was working and largely clicking at random.

justinooncx 2017-07-31 14:52

Huh... It took me quite some time to figure out what the heck I was doing, but eventually I got the hang of it! I think. Maybe. Once I got used to it, though, I found it to be pretty goshdarned interesting! Ended up having two rows hogging a sword each with 0 discovery, and the third row having full discovery so I could see all threats in the future. Learnt that was a bad thing though when they were sitting in my 'inventory' and debuffing me... If there's a way to properly explain the mechanics to a new player, I'm not sure what it is, but I hope you find it~

dracominer 2017-07-31 19:33

The game was a bit odd for me. I found it difficult to understand what I was doing and why I shoudl be doing it. If you coudl establish earlier on what actions that player needs to take and then set up why they should make them, the game would be much better and easier for people to try out. Personally, I didn't like the game but it was definitely good. It has plenty of potential.

Nice graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4BqGc9csNo

graebor 2017-08-01 03:17

I like this concept and the way the gameplay's really distilled down to a simple form, it was just hard to grasp what was going on at first. With some visual polish/sound/feedback I think this could be quite cool :)

akirassasin 2017-08-01 10:06

@mr-heating @tomdev @automatonvx @jupiter-hadley @graebor

Thank you very much :)

@belowparallel-ian

There are two ways to lose - one is running out of power, and the other is not being able to make any move. Your base attack is 0, and some things require a certain minimum attack. The red X indicates that you are not strong enough to defeat it, and hence unable to act on it.

@oxrock @justinooncx @dracominer

Yes, the tutorial/teaching could do with a lot of improvements - I'm thinking a tutorial level with everything preset, and dialog teaching how to play. Some UI improvements, such as bringing description towards the item itself, could also help :)

toonteamj 2017-08-01 17:21

Interesting, though it does take some time to learn. This is kind of like a fun twist of a card game.

skullpixel 2017-08-01 17:31

This is quite genius. It would fare very well as a mobile game. You should continue the game past LD and maybe even monetize it. Fantastic entry.

lycaon 2017-08-01 21:10

This game is neat! I'm not entire sure if it works, or maybe I just don't understand it, but I've definitely never seen anything like it. Keep it up!

akirassasin 2017-08-02 11:34

@toonteamj @skullpixel @lycaon

Thanks! I'm thinking of making the game more accessible, fix problems and release it as a mobile game :)

ganbaregameskyle 2017-08-02 23:23

Not intuitive.

grandtheftmarmot 2017-08-03 18:10

Fun game! I love the idea behind the game. I think I figured out how to play it, but a tutorial level might be helpful if you're looking for something that's quick to pick up and play. You should totally make this a little mobile game.

excitemike 2017-08-05 00:28

I found it very confusing. I think I might need more explanation if I was going to play this one.

simplepotential 2017-08-05 23:48

It was very odd and not user friendly but after a while I sort of figured out what I was doing I think. I like the idea but I think it needs some work. Looks like it might make an interesting mobile game

drums 2017-08-07 18:22

Was a little confused and weird at first, but I think I eventually got the hang of it, haha! Very polished, you have a knack for this!

thaaks 2017-08-07 19:15

I think the game idea itself is a nice one but honestly I didn't understand how to play. But I love how the game is presented and with some better introduction this could become a cool game! Your minimal low res graphics style is nice - keep it! Some sound would have been nice. Overall an interesting game which I would love to play again with better instructions! Well done!

mike-cullingham 2017-08-08 04:11

Interesting game. Took several turns to understand the basics. My critique would be there's too much back and forth reading to check the items... having sub-icons on the discoveries themselves might make it play faster. Definitely an above average LD game... nice job.

mintarcade 2017-08-08 14:58

Love the graphics. Interesting mechanics. Kinda confusing at first, but then it's great fun. Nicely done.

schu 2017-08-10 14:43

Honestly I was pretty confused for awhile and I'm still not quite sure I understand everything that's happening, particularly how I die. I love the simple graphics tho and the concept is neat!

ellian 2017-08-13 11:58

Damn, that's quite an original idea you have there! Really like the concept, but some of the feedbacks are a bit too confusing - like it's not obvious at first glance what some objects are gonna do. But the idea is really cool!
