Great graphics, this can be released as a full fledged app for mobile for sure. I loved how visually appealing this is, and it's enough of a spin on a flappy bird-esc gameplay that it feels new and challenging.
I didn't get much of a sens of verticality from the background being static,imo, adding some parallax layers in the bg would give this a nice cherry on top.
Remarkably well thought out and polished for a jam game! The number of different hazards and whole idea of protecting the bird friends is clever. The art style is great and the animations are all top quality! Really good stuff, you should be proud!

Awesome game! Very fun to play, it feels great and is a great take on the theme. I like the art style, it's pixel but very animated. Even the enemies are pretty unique and fun, acorn shooting squirrel, jumping fox, snapping crocodile. Only comment is I kind of wish the birds followed you closer and maybe you had a faster drop time, but that's all probably part of the charm!

Hey, I didn't see that coming - the cactus stretching to prick my bird :) I like the art style and simplicity a lot. Pleasing to flap the bird into the sky. Maybe a bit too friendly (easy) in the beginning and restarting from the beginning after reaching a few levels up is a bit discouraging (hmm, my game suffers from that I realize since I have the same element of design). Nice game, I like it!

Excellent entry. Very well thought-out and executed. I would prefer a little more difficulty, but that's down to personal preference.

I like this game but it's a bit too easy imo and space it a little bit of an awkward button for jumping for me (my wrist started to hurt after playing for a while). Graphics are great, gameplay is fun (if only it was a little harder) and theme was incorporated really well into the game :)

This is the best one I've played so far. I'm blown away. Fantastic job.
Seriously - it is awesome! I enjoyed playing really long, at about ~18.000 points and 20 birds around you the progress got quite slowly. Therefore, I would suggest not to make it a marathon, but to separate it in different levels and not scaling by "more height to travel and more birds to carry" - but yeah it fit the theme quite perfectly :) one more suggestion: don't make the blackbird collide with the others - quite annoying behaviour if you are waiting in position and getting bumped in random directions ItsATrap.png it's a trap!

Once again, another adorable and fun game. I dig the separation of the levels which gave me a sense of accomplishment whenever I got my flock there =).
It's so charming and the crocodile sound is the best SFX ever. I would fly near to them just to hear it and chuckle every time.

Oh my god this is so cute! I care about my birds so much :DD But all the animals in this are just too adorable and nicely animated! The sound design also works really well to add more character and make the birbs come alive. Thank you for making this! :)
I love this game. The controls are simple, the visuals and audio are perfect, and there's tons of content. As you play you find all kinds of surprising challenges. This is really well made. The different enemies are all cute, and kind of funny in their own way. Bumping birds into the christmas light looking things, while sad, is also unexpected and hilarious with the sfx.
You should be very proud of this game.

Very nice drawn visual style and animations, fun little things like a bird sitting on an alligator's back. Good adoption of theme. I got about 1300 pts at level 3.

I was eaten on lvl 4, while trying to scout ahead and clear out all the acorns. :sob: The level design & difficulty seemed good. The ambient noises were also pleasant.
Just what I love to see in Ludum Dare - simple games with clear idea, awesome execution and no unnecessary stuff around! Thanks for the game, really enjoyed it and it may be my favorite so far :)

Wow, I feel we might have found the LD40 winner. This is very nice and polished game. Of course, there is a obvious similarity with flappy bird but this is totally next level. Theme is on point, graphics is beautiful. Various enemies are pretty cool. Nice game!

I love the elegant design, calm zen atmosphere of all the cute colorful birds flying around. Lovely little jam game very well designed and tons of gameplay. I got to level 10 with 30,000 points!
So nice! This has a surprising amount of depth to it and all the obstacles are well designed...and really cute too! Aside from a few minor collision issues (which you may or may not have already fixed) I did find that the game's framerate tends to slow down quite a lot when lots of birds are colliding against obstacles such as the ground. But anyways, those birdies are so adorable! The random variations for the flocking behavior were great and you really hit the theme well too. It really captures the feeling of being an adult bird trying to lead around all these little fledglings.

First thing, it's adorable how the lil bird hops around. secondly, the sounds, mechanics and sounds all from a nice coherent whole, well done. I just wish my bird would fly up a little faster, but it's tiny bird anyway
