LD30 — Connected Worlds

Shit Ahead by kristof 2014-08-28T19:30:00

Great presentation, a really nice and fun little game! Really solid artwork and vibe to the whole thing. Awesome stuff!

Chromasis by jwin 2014-08-25T19:25:00

Really visually polished and simple but fun and interesting concept.
High on my list.

REUNION by Skiddings 2014-08-28T20:02:00

Nice puzzles, good atmosphere and pleasant artwork... looking forward to seeing more of it with the post-jam build!

Bipolar World by havana24 2014-09-10T13:30:00

Really well put together gravity switching platformer and nice clean visuals.

As other people have stated, I appreciate the inclusion of story/commentary but found the exploration of bipolar disorder in the game a little trite and threadbare, and as a result I found it hard to sympathise with the character.

A Roller-Skating A-List Odyssey by AnnaGavaldaKedavra 2014-08-28T20:35:00

Hah, this is great. I very much like this game. Really tough, pin-point precision gameplay, great mood and setting. Reminds of hotline miami a little!

Lullaby by Mase 2014-08-26T21:06:00

I no longer feel human. Outstanding artwork. I particularly enjoyed the dance party sections.

Multidimensional Tube Linker by n42k 2014-08-25T12:06:00

I like the aesthetic and the core mechanic is cool and well implemented.
Unfortunately I didn't manage to get to the end, as I found the later levels too fiddly and punishing.

Encounter console by Peping 2014-08-26T20:31:00

Well realised console... felt quite spooky interacting with it!

Constellations by Inateno 2014-08-25T14:25:00

Fun game! It's quite difficult to keep the right sequence in mind whilst plotting the links, but that's just my short term memory at fault! Simple but effective.

Cells by Xanjos 2014-08-30T14:14:00

Nice and simple.

Potatoes To Mars by HELLO23 2014-08-26T20:49:00

Man, guys... the end of the first section destroyed me, such an unexpected twist! Simple mechanics but you guys nailed it in the fun and humour stakes. Great job!

Dimension Blocks by reaver 2014-08-26T20:40:00

Great puzzles, really good use of the theme in a no-nonsense manner. Would love to play something like this with haptic feedback!

The Subconscious by Snicklodocus 2014-08-28T21:18:00

Nice presentation, love the use of the monochromatic colour scheme and low-fi visuals. Good job!

ShiftKeeper by egor-idiot 2014-09-06T12:32:00

Great artwork, really liked the effect for the gun blasts. Ace!

Data-Man by Hyoga-3D 2014-08-25T14:16:00

Good audio and clean art, as others have said the difficulty comes not from being hunted by the AI but from stumbling into them because they don't stand out enough, but the slowdown from Pacman Championship Edition helps and the sensation of flying around a sphere is fun.

Trapped Between Worlds by Tommislav 2014-08-26T21:16:00

There is a lot of content to explore in this game, good work! Really like the dash mechanic.

Catalyst by Glaydur 2014-08-28T19:26:00

Parallax! Nice!!! Fun theme, the outer-body experience felt reminiscent of lord of the rings when Frodo puts on the ring. Just a shame it wasn't longer! Good job guys!

Marbles by Lokarunith 2014-08-30T13:40:00

Didnt really understand what was going on or what I was meant to be doing... good job on creating a creepy atmosphere though.

RED Thread by NickZangus 2014-09-04T13:16:00

How did you achieve the anaglyph effect? The whole thing looks fantastic and super polished. Difficulty was just right for the length of the game. Great concept and execution.

Interplanetary Sync by xXweeguyXx 2014-08-28T20:26:00

Quite a fun little thing, I like the way the camera works to switch between the two worlds. The art has a nice charm to it too!

InfiLoop by komjaur 2014-08-25T17:30:00

Would be nice if there was a restart button so you didn't have to refresh the web page when you got to a dead end.

Found the end and enjoyed exploring. Short but satisfying.

Solar War by Reyn 2014-08-26T20:16:00

Quite an intense experience! When there are a few people in there it gets really hectic, that combined with the spinning camera makes things really full-on! Nice use of the theme, too!

Blink by DarknessFades 2014-08-30T14:04:00

I find the jumping really hard to get the hang of, I don't really know where i am going to land until the shadow re-appears and by that time its too late!
Nice artwork and audio, though!

The Bunny Theory by cudabear 2014-08-25T14:50:00

Enjoyed the flip mechanic, visuals and audio are clean and solid. Could have used more progression in the enemy types (more visual and AI changes maybe?).

Managed to get caught in a spinning loop by jumping and flipping at the same time near the portal.

Imperium by Supernaught 2014-08-31T11:12:00

Is the link supposed to point to anything?

It would be nice to see the compo version, no matter how buggy or unfinished :)

Linker by Stals 2014-08-28T20:10:00

Really polished! Great work on all fronts, the game plays really slickly, the visuals are really sharp and vibrant and the music and sfx really help tie it all together. I don't know if maybe a health bar for the base objects would be useful, I couldn't really tell how many more hits I could take. Excellent work, otherwise!

Planetsmacker by Moocowsgomoo 2014-08-26T20:10:00

This is super fun! Spin attack looks really cool and the quite literal "connected worlds" theme is spot on. Awesome stuff!

Connected Worlds Training Facility by sftrabbit 2014-08-25T11:21:00

Well executed, controls and camera are solid, art is nice.

As others have said the only issue is that we want more!

Disconnecting People by Once Upon a Team 2014-08-26T21:34:00

Interesting take on the theme and a really nice to play. When things go dark for the bonus points its super cool! Awesome stuff!

UNIVERSAL FEELING by hoyt hoy 2014-08-25T14:34:00

Fun and unique! Also difficult. An orbital guitar hero.

Peregrinatio by Zerkruemler 2014-08-28T21:25:00

Interesting concept, if a little confusing.

Gravitate by acehk 2014-08-28T21:03:00

I sometimes found it a little hard to click on the planets, but otherwise found it really fun and engaging! Good job!

Galaxy Lanes by Fortyseven 2014-08-26T20:06:00

This kind of interface would work well for a mobile bowling game - very simple interaction! Good stuff!!

O.R.B by OhFiddleDiddle 2014-08-28T21:11:00

Great use of audio, had a nice time wandering around and exploring.

WE MUST EXPLORE by goosetickler 2014-08-28T19:41:00

There is an incredible sense of atmosphere and loneliness in this game, very impressive visuals too. I loved exploring around looking for extra rocks - really therapeutic gameplay, would be really cool to explore procedurally generated environments!

Chipset-0 by deepnight 2014-09-11T13:17:00

Astonishing. Top visuals, design, story, sound and fun mechanics. The look of the cables and electricity particles are stunning, especially with the pixellation / scan-lines over the top.

Personally, I really like your use of the theme, most of the literal interpretations are boring!

The Futurist by TinyMoonStudios 2014-08-26T20:35:00

Nice idea, very tough though!

Warmageddon by schizokoa 2014-08-26T20:20:00

Great job guys, really neat little game. The water and fire attack art is particularly cool!

Strangers From Space by ALobker 2014-08-30T12:51:00

Nice entry... didn't really understand what i was doing but had a nice time wandering around. Good job for putting in multi-player!

Introspection by Jean Phenix 2014-08-25T13:59:00

Could give clearer instructions to the player, was a pretty confusing experience, good graphics though and feels like it has good potential.

Day Dream by Takashy87 2014-08-25T17:44:00

Managed to die within attacking distance of the snake so I could spam him with damage whilst dead!

Would be nice to have more control in the scrolling section, perhaps require the player to jump to avoid some obstacles?

The first dare is always the hardest! You made the right decision to drop content in favour of completing the game loop. It's better to have a short game than an incomplete one.

I Think I Broke Something by Otrora Games 2014-08-28T20:41:00

Very addictive game! Really simple to play but hard to stop trying to better your time! Great art and music, really impressive entry!!

Tough Love Machine by intmain 2014-08-26T13:10:00

Fantastic game, really original and clever.
Kept me hooked until the end! Thanks!

I guess the difficulty curve could be a little better, the levels seemed to jump around in difficulty a little bit but that's a minor complaint. Good job!

don't touch red blocks by chadheim 2014-09-01T16:55:00

There are quite a few games this dare based around this "control two characters at once" concept, but I think yours is actually one of better ones. There are unique obstacles in each view and the clean visuals are effective. I like the transitions between levels and the door animations too.

Labyrinth Challenge by Green Lightning 2014-08-25T18:01:00

The close cropped camera is clever, helps replicate the need to remember your path like when navigating a maze in real life.

Cool idea, but it makes playing the game more trial and error than logic due to having no clue where the goal is. Maybe there could be an indicator which shows the direction of the goal but not the level?

of Light and Dark by MaddeMichael 2014-08-26T20:35:00

Had one instance when light didn't kill my shadow self and managed to walk off the screen in a couple of locations, but mostly pretty solid. Managed to get to the end? Good job.

Busted by camlang 2014-08-30T13:04:00

Once I figured out what I had to do this was quite a fun little sneaking game! With more time I think this concept could be awesome, great job guys.

Shattered by guimonpa 2014-09-04T23:29:00

Both the style of the graphics and jet pack control scheme felt very Cave Story-inspired, and that's a good thing!

Very impressive and complete feeling for 72 hours, managed to complete it with 20 orbs / 4 treasures / 999+ deaths! The collision could have done with being a bit more forgiving though.

R-elink: A link between worlds by RaycoSantana 2014-08-26T12:27:00

As others have said, good interpretation of the theme and an innovative idea!

I agree that it would be easier on the eyes and brain if the viewport on the R-elink matched the fov of the section of screen it is covering.

Good luck with making it into a full game!

Close Your Eyes by nonetheless 2014-08-28T19:11:00

Wow, this is an amazing entry! Really sharp visuals and some really simple game play that kept me coming back for more! Very addictive, would love to have this as an app on my phone. Really atmospheric sounds too... great dongs!

Connected Retro Worlds by yodamaster 2014-08-29T13:01:00

Great idea with the inter-connected-world controls and having each scene progressively linked to each other, really awesome job!

In My Garden by MercuryLegba 2014-08-30T13:55:00

There is a lot of beer on offer in this adventure.
Nice writing.

Nature Trial by Naytron 2014-08-25T13:43:00

Sorry to hear that you didn't know what to do Hyoga-3D, what did you get stuck on?

The idea is to move the objects (trolleys, trees, etc.) around to create a path from the entrance to the exit through the shadows. On each level the shadows are cast in different directions. Also, the cubs cannot travel through objects!

Nature Trial by Naytron 2014-08-26T22:20:00

You guys are absolutely right about the loose controls, it was something we were aware of during the Jam and wanted to fix but we just got used to them and then forgot to come back to it.

I've uploaded a post dare version which fixes the issue (That's the only change), so play that version instead if you find the controls too difficult to work with.

GalaxyXX by DragonInstall 2014-08-28T20:19:00

I didn't really understand what I was supposed to do, but I had a nice time flying around and exploring the bright and colourful artwork! Really like the idea of rendering a space scene in such a way, very inventive!

Choose Your Side by Drew Van Camp 2014-08-30T13:09:00

A little confusing to begin with, but once I got it I started to enjoy things! I like the colour on the characters representing the health - really subtle but very cool. Nice work!

Intergalactic postal service by mkochmin 2014-08-25T16:59:00

Had no real issues with the controls, but found it a little difficult to consistently get into orbit around the planets due to the speed they were travelling.

Cool idea mixing orbital mechanics with asteroids-style controls.

NOODLE FEELING by Magdev 2014-08-28T20:45:00

Amazing.

Bridge to the Moon by Zigsfi 2014-08-30T13:13:00

Great audio! I was a little confused by the concept but found the shooting of enemy craft fun!

Linking by handkor 2014-08-30T13:19:00

Nice! I like the concept of the monster holding on to the bits of land. Nice effects on the portals too!!

Your Glorious War by coleott 2014-08-26T20:56:00

Nice job with the artwork - cool looking characters, although i didn't really understand what I was doing in the game.

Yin-Yang by cstack 2014-08-30T13:58:00

Fun game, took a while to get used to shifting between worlds to prolong the lifespan. Nice lo-fi visual approach too!

Abridged worlds by littlerockplanet 2014-08-30T13:47:00

Really enjoyed running around on the planets and found the boat in space powered by bubbles particularly charming!

Keyboard Shootout by brian 2014-08-30T14:01:00

Nice approach on the theme. Good job!

Linked Planets by Crazy-Goat-Media 2014-08-30T14:08:00

Nice mechanics. Would be cool to not have to start from the beginning every time, though!

Linked by a Rhythm by Blastopio 2014-08-25T17:17:00

Interesting mix of ikaruga and beat matching. The clean two-tone graphics really help communicate the mechanic to the player.

I found it quite difficult to manage the button presses whilst navigating the narrow corridors.

Perhaps disabling the turrets should be automatic when the player touches them? And maybe you could just use one mouse button to toggle between the two states.

Cool idea!

MS. PORTAL MAN by nickculbertson 2014-08-26T21:22:00

Those dudes were indeed RUDE. Fun game, could imagine it getting hectic with loads more rude dudes in there! Might benefit from something telling you which direction the blade is coming from so you can plan ahead a little?

Phase Shifter by Sasurai 2014-08-30T13:30:00

Really unforgiving controls but the game play is quite rewarding, solid job!

Get it out of here! by concalf 2014-08-30T12:56:00

Inspired mechanics for the bullet replenishing, really nice idea. Great job!

A Tale Of Words by Njord 2014-08-26T21:28:00

Amazing sounds! Really fun trying to trigger all of the different connections. Great job!

Super Alien Bro by nerd burglars 2014-08-26T21:41:00

Nice mechanics and well presented! Great fun to play - that reverse mechanic is really tricky!! Very cool.

Mono by Tom115x 2014-08-25T13:21:00

The clean and clear graphics are effective, but I agree with the above comment, the loose controls are a bit frustrating.

Having obstacles unique to each world would have given the game a bit more strategy.

Galaxy Inc. by Floko 2014-08-30T15:18:00

Good game, enjoyed the clean neon graphics and dark side of the moon planet. Had a bug where after about level ten the *Nice Job* audio clip started playing multiple times after completing a level.

You should provide a link to the original Jam version so people can rate the correct version.

Schizoscreenia by nothke 2014-09-01T13:37:00

Cool idea, I like the multiple viewpoints.

Managed to get to the first red square but couldn't figure out how to get to the next one. Perhaps there could be other visual clues to help determine how the different views are linked?

Planetary Intergalactic Super Supply Line: Other Terran Species by db434 2014-08-26T21:09:00

Good stuff! Didn't need the toilet once! Nice use of the theme.

Galactic Dump by SoulGame 2014-08-31T19:50:00

Very professional looking game, clean and complete. Do you guys work for Ubisoft? I spotted the Rabbid in there...

Alice Anxiety by jukimv1986 2014-08-28T19:22:00

Nice concept, but I found it a little confusing as to what i was meant to do next. Great job on creating a moody atmosphere!

Orange by JaJ 2014-09-08T13:15:00

Great job, loved that the message was folded into the gameplay, it felt very natural. Polished graphics, quality audio and an interesting mechanic. 5'd.

Naboka Between Worlds! by Bognet Team 2014-08-30T14:44:00

The pancake at the start is the hardest obstacle to pass in the game, which is a shame as a lot of people won't get to see your other mechanics. Nice art and congrats on finishing the game, however short :)

This Way! by Accidental Rebel 2014-09-02T09:30:00

Love the art, very attractive, coupled with the audio the game felt very polished.

My suggestion would be to make the tile placement less random: position the coin and the new tiles in a such a way that it will be more likely that the player can get to the coin each turn if they use their tile well.

Found myself in lots of situations where I couldn't get close to the coin with either character because the random tiles didn't allow it and the tiles I was given didn't help.

Perhaps let the player place one tile of ANY orientation?

Boy and Dog and Mysterious portal by Halfbus 2014-08-30T13:25:00

Sweet audio and visuals, really nice. It's quite fun to play single player too!

System F by Gareth Jenkins 2014-08-30T13:44:00

Solid entry, nice and neat game play and really sharp visuals. Great job!

Ex-Fraktion by Robotic 2014-08-26T12:45:00

Astonishing. Really cool game guys, Love the art music and gameplay.

My only critique is that the fov seems a little close when the screen is split in two. When you get to three/four it zooms out a bit and you have a little more breathing room.

Would love to see more!

Mansion on the Hill by BuffaloPhil 2014-08-26T21:43:00

Fantastic! Nice to see a point and click, mechanics are well implemented, story was great, felt very John Carpenter, maybe it was the music? Great Job!

Love your logo too!

LD33 — You are the Monster

Gravity Snake by lessmilk 2015-08-24T17:56:00

Cool mechanic and cute clean gfx, level progression / difficulty curve was good also.
Love the idea of an a cappella sound track but it could have used a slightly longer sound loop.
Great game! Wish I could vote but I didn't participate :(

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Total Party Kill by adventureislands 2018-12-03T18:23:46Z

Didn't participate so I can't rate, but I wish I could!

Great use of the theme, attractive art, solid music and sfx, fun level design and interesting mechanics. Reminiscent of the Lost Vikings.

Loved the ending, it got a laugh out of me!
