Cannot play it because i don't have windows, but will rate in humor because the image looks funny. good luck there!

the gameplay is a bit slow for my taste, but the game is nicely polished art and UI look good.

henry00 2016-04-20 13:43

Cool idea, could have been better if it used the mouse cursor to move the hammer instead of keyboard-only controls.

fumiko 2016-04-20 14:48

I liked the rolling eyes of the rock and the general concept of sculting in terms of shapeshifting

stalker1586 2016-04-20 14:50

That's funny. The idea is good, lacks any sound. Hammering on the stone, for example.

technovirusattack 2016-04-20 16:04

I like the idea, but gameplay is kinda slow and it needs more audio work.

ramayana 2016-04-20 16:15

Good idea but i agree with Henry00, it could have been better with mouse controls. And if you don't have a QWERTY keyboard it's even more difficult.

Need more stuff to happen

holyblackcat 2016-04-20 16:42

Pretty good game, I like how you implemented hammer mechanics.
Visual style was pretty funny.
Sadly, controls bugged on me and rock always moved upwards. I was able to hold it still by constantly holding down arrow and I even finished first level this way.

By the way, in comments to my game you said that you got a crash. I think I've found the issue and I tweaked the code a bit, can you try again, please?

holyblackcat 2016-04-20 17:41

I'm sorry for bothering you again, but this site lacks notification system. :C I have came up with another idea how to fix that and I posted instructions for you in the comments. Can you do me a favor and try that?

ainoraz 2016-04-20 19:14

I'm not sure if I should be able to do this xD https://gyazo.com/74cc4ad4c67514ec8897e5c38814c1d7

I found this surprisingly therapeutic!
It's a bit hard to predict the outcome of a hammer swing on the rock - it feels bit inconsistent but maybe that's just practice. The hammer is effective in a strange "arc" which was a bit annoying at times as it would take of chunks sometimes I didn't think were in the range.

Still had fun playing though. All I could keep thinking was, "that poor rock!". Angry hammer is hell bent on destruction!

marc-fichtel 2016-04-20 19:20

Coordinating hammer and rock is a bit tricky, but over a solid game. Like the literal interpretation of shapeshifting here!

pixelpotions 2016-04-20 19:25

Cool execution, didn't saw any other aplication of this idea that I had myself for a moment while the theme came out.
If I could make just an observation, I think the gameplay would fit better with mouse insteadof keyboard. Good work nonetheless.

pontifex 2016-04-20 19:37

@AinoraZ It's not a bug, it's a feature ;)

Okay, okay, it's not intended, for some reason I just wasn't able to test if the hammer is inside the rock, and just stuck with this behaviour. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing :)

@everyone, thanks for kind words. I agree that mouse controls would be better, I don't really have an excuse for not using them.
Collision effect (not actually hit effect itself) is calculated every frame, so the result might indeed be odd when the hammer overlaps with edges for too long.

kappaix 2016-04-20 20:51

Interesting idea! Liked the graphics!

Well done!

shatterpointstudios 2016-04-20 23:16

This is a cool idea, though I'm terrible at it haha. The eyes on the rock make me laugh, and I like the art design.

tchai 2016-04-23 01:55

I thought a bit hard to get the correct shape, but the concept and art are cool

Nice job! :D

puppetmaster 2016-04-23 23:04

Nice entry! 1+ for Godot engine :-)

h2n0 2016-04-24 08:50

The game play didn't feel fast enough and if I made the rock even slightly too small I failed the level. Is the ability to "grow" the rock from swinging the hammer inside it supposed to be there?

pontifex 2016-04-24 09:07

@h2n Not really, I just didn't have time to implement testing if the hammer is inside the rock. But as long as you consider it a feature, it actually feels in place.
I didn't do enough playtesting as well, that's why some levels are too difficult. Sorry about that.

prash 2016-04-29 21:26

ENJOYING THIS EXECUTION, DESPITE THIS BEING YOUR FIRST TIME WITH GODOT. YOU HAVE NOT WASTED YOUR TIME, BUT SPENT IT AND SPENT IT WELL.

osaft 2016-04-29 21:33

Like the idea, but the stone was unreal :o
