Nice tower defense game.
Very good use of the theme! i can also tell - you really wanted tower offence to win. this game was surprisingly fun on a first playthrough, although far too easy.this game was great
I really liked the buildup of a defense and how frantic it got when near the end - having to rush back and forth to gather all my materials while also refueling and building new turrets was a great little loop.
However, this game was far too easy. once you beat the first wave - it was effectively over. maybe, as time went by, you could've had a variable that increased every wave that affected both enemy health and speed as a multiplier?
the art in this game is very simple - but for a tower defense, this works! it looks surprisingly good here. no comments on audio, played with it off.
it duped my comment 4 times and i dont know how to delete them...
duped comment
took some time to figure out how to play and build stuff but it was nice :) good idea to put resource generation behind 10 seconds - makes you think about where you build your mines
feels decent, audios a bit loud, and it can be a bit harder to get into the groove, but it feels good to play, shame you cant manually deal with the enemies
Great mood, I love the music and the setting most. I don't know if the music is handmade or by someone else but I'd love to hear more of it.
It took me quite a bit of time to get used to the controls, but it's actually quite clever to just use the movement as a way of building as well. Seems like on Game Over the game just froze for me, not a big deal since I was done playing anyway, just keep it in mind ;)
Oooo! Tower defense! :D
I had a lot of fun playing this game, I would TOTALLY love to see a full-fledged version of these later, as once you get to a certain point you can't die any more. I did feel as though having to manually press each button made it get tedious once you had 20+ buildings (same with movement), so maybe if there was implementation that let you automate things for a higher cost or holding down a key lets you move in that direction, that would be super helpful! UI was quite intuitive too.
So like at this point it kind of stagnates, but that's likely just due to the time constraints. Would love to play more though!

Props to music too! The wide reverb, heavy kick drums, and having that big moment when brass enters really makes it feel like an epic tower defense game. The sprites had their charm, but I can totally imagine this on the app store if you touched it up more and added more difficulty later on :)
The little details like the animation particles and the smooth menu added a lot to the game too!
Great job :dog:
It took me quite a few tries before I got the hang of it, but it's a very good game :) The first time, I couldn't figure out my character was that blue diamond and i couldn't figure out how to move, so I just kept trying to build stuff without understanding how to get the resources to do it. But eventually figured it out and was able to make a strong little base for myself. Once you have your defenses established, it does get too easy, but that comes with a small feeling of mastery and efficiency. Nice work!
Fun game, I love the atmosphere the music sets up! Good concept.
Good game and cool idea!
Great game! I was about to give up once the enemy blew up most of my base, but I managed to recover and win :D
The graphics are fitting and the sound design is nice. The start was a bit rough and I did restart once I figured out what I was supposed to do and how that would work. What I did not like was the frantic running around and hitting space. It might be interesting to try a system where you switch on and off buildings permanentely. That might turn out to be less engaging for the player, though. I would give it a shot and expand the economy system. That would shift the game fron action towards strategy / base building, so it probably depends on personal preferrence.
All in all great entry. It was fun to play and the project was nicely executed. good job!
I've always loved tower defenses, and this one is really cool! The idea of having to physically move and build our base is very nice, it gave me little reminders of some tower defense mods on starcraft or warcraft! well done ! I myself made a tower defense for this jam, and I also really liked the difference in our visions on this style of play!
This game really took me back to a simpler time of flash games. It's a very fun game in it's own right, and a great base for a much larger and longer game!
Things I liked: * The gameplay was tight and easy to understand. * The tutorialization of showing where the base is, and the enemies coming out of it. * The later realization that you had to push to the end and destroy the enemy base, not just sit there and defeat enough waves. * The sense of progression going from having just a few things to having a large production force. * The graphics/music.
Things I would have liked: * More attacks of enemies from more angles, or perhaps multiple bases you have to push out to and destroy. * Being able to hold down a key to move more quickly rather than tapping repeatedly for long walls. * An easier way to cancel out of a move onto a buildable space. Found myself by mistake building often when I didn't intend to. * More distinctive looks for the production animation so it's easier to see what is producing and what isn't. * Some additional balance by not allowing you to just build everything right next to each other. It makes it trivial to run around spamming 'build' while collecting the produced materials when everything is built in a grid right next to each other.
Impressive game for a gamejam!
Very nice game, took me a few games to build the weapon before the enemies getting to into base. Very addictive, good job !
Good game, tho the difficulty is a bit weird - it's kinda hard to start(had to restart about three times), but once you do you almost certainly win.
Easily one of my favourites so far that I have played here. Really addictive and solid gameplay. Good job!
Awesome! Managed to get to the end after 1 try. Gameplay is fun. It forces you to rebuild your production while pushing to avoid going back and forth. Music is great but i'm not sure it's a perfect fit for the game. The biggest problem to me was the lack of feedback when activating a building: no effect, no sound, no animation, nothing, sometime you're wondering if the building is activated or not. Apart from that, great game. Good job!
It took me until my third try to realize that you're actually supposed to go on the offensive and take out the enemy spawner. The turrets are called *defense* after all, so I didn't think to attack the spawner directly. But once I had amassed enough french fries, burger meat, grey cup lids, and ketchup bottles, I didn't have much else to do but let my turrets do the work.
I've never played a tower defense game where you have to start building towards the enemy though, so that was cool! I built my tower of smelters (smelters being the same cost as walls but have addition utility), building a turret every few blocks, and eventually my enemy was history! Maybe an expanded version could have some enemies that only appear close to their base, so it adds some extra danger as you get closer.
Fun game! Had me hooked!
controls were pain to learn and use.. but I guess that is part of struggle.. took few tries to win.. overall very solid game
Took me awhile to figure everything out, but I had a great time once I did! All of the buildings felt necessary, and the resource generation/collection was very satisfying! The only things I felt was needed was better feedback when inserting resources into buildings (some UI animation, sound, etc.). Congrats on the really great entry!
This game was great.
The graphics were nice, the gameplay was fun and interesting for a tower defense, the sound design was alright and overall I had no glitches or anything to sour my experience. Solid entry.
wowowow took me a few tries to understand the mechanics clearely and even then i felt like i was missing something, great game, maybe a liiiitle balancing could help new players ahah tutorial was usefull the, nice entry
