This game has really much potential. However... it is not really playable. After i picked up about 15 to 20 coins the popup bar would fill up to fast and was thereby unable to proceed. How you could fix this? Try to put a limit on the percentage fill on the bar and only make it appear if the character sees something it can buy?
Art-wise i would either go for a pixel art theme like you did for the terrain or a vector style like you used for the props. (I would go for the vector style since the character looks great :stuck_out_tongue:)
Overal the game looks good and would love to play/rate it again after some polishing!

@blinkeye thanks for your kind review!
I did some polishing on the game but I still need to pin the difficulty on the sweet spot as in now the game is still really hard to play as you mention.

Nice game. Some thoughts on it:
-The graphics look qute nice
-The music sounds great
-The tapping mechanic is a bit flawed, because you can quite easily escape it, when you start tapping "s" rght when the window pops up. When you have a certain amount of coins and are not quick enough to close the window right when it pops up, you just don't need to try to tap, because it gets impossible at some point
All in all nice game :)

Interesting idea, but a bit limited in its current state. I would be interested to see what levels could be made if the concept were pushed further. The graphics generally look good, but the combination of pixel art and more smooth assets is a bit weird. I like how the title music is calm but the in game music is super hectic.

Interesting concept, but I didn't find tapping the keys very engaging - it felt more like an interruption in the game play. I think the the compulsion to buy things was expressed in some other ways, maybe you have to lead the guy around by objects, or maybe its more of a lemmings-like level where you have to place money and objects down strategically as to influence the guys movement? In any case maybe some more thoughts about what the design is expressing and how that could drive the mechanics in the game, if that is helpful. Keep up the good work!
