Pretty fun game. Lacked that spit and shine polish but what you had you made work pretty well.

Wow this was amazing. I played with my PS3 controller (with Xbox drivers) and it felt really comfortable. The puzzles where at just the right difficulty to figure them out.
Sometimes though I was a little worried the setup wouldn't work to well, my setup for the least level for example I wasn't sure if the ball would go where I wanted it. It turned out fine in the end though.
Definitely one of the best LD games I've played thus far.
Nice. The limited viewing range diluted by the 'fake' world was interesting to navigate but I found it too easy to lose my world. Probably would've been better to have smaller worlds show up only within your world instead of outside it.
Not bad for 5 hours honestly. But without something that can negatively effect you the only challenge is seeing how fast you can clear a seed. Even then you just zoom out and click numbers as the turn white. But with just a few easy changed you could make something good from this. I'd be interested if you made a postmortem version.
Really like the art style and the dialogue between the two characters. But I never figured out what I was doing, what items I needed to pick up, why sometimes I could place turrets but not others. Having that control screenshot in the game would've been a big help.
Still, it's a solid game.
Interesting game. At first I thought the order of the planets in level 2 was the order your supposed to click the planets in, then I noticed the messages in the corner. Sometimes it seemed that the gameplay was pretty much trial and error but was a little addicting all the same.
I really like it but sometimes it was unclear what gift an alien want's and even then sometimes you don't have it. The combat phase was also a little unclear and by the time I was clicking on doomsday gifts the fight was pretty much over.
Otherwise I really like the art style and use of the theme. Good work.
Pretty short but I liked what was there. Love the use of the theme. I think in the future though it could use more spots where you need to rely on the narrative of one world than the other. Also as a suggestion, it would be cool if there were situations where taking an action in one world would positively effect one world but negatively effect the other. Like you have to choose which world you favor almost.
I really enjoyed your interpretation of the theme. However this is entirely story based, like a visual novel. There's nothing wrong with that exactly but I'd like to have something more to sink my teeth into.
This it most certainly the most beautiful game I've played this LD. The graphics were stunning and the story was better than expected.
However this honestly could have just as easily been a short pixelart animation. It didn't really use the fact that the player had control of the character to it's advantage at all. If you were to continue this, maybe that would be something you want to think about.
In the end though this is an amazing LD game and thank you for making it.
It was bit difficult to figure out what the Itinerary was but once I tried it I queued up several trips between planets to sell a lot pretty quick. I noticed though that if I gave my second ship orders, It wouldn't do anything and the first ship would stop and do it instead. Overall though this is solid game.
After I figured things out on my first playthrough the second playthrough was really fun. And while I never really felt threatened to lose I did let 7 Formless through. Some gripes though.
If you kill a Formless, then they should disappear and have to be respawned just like your party.
You should be able to see the entire board on screen at once. Either as the default view or by allowing the player to zoom out. It would give a more board game feel.
A suggestion too, have the map randomly change shape. Keep it dense and connected, just not always a hexagon.
I run the game at 1000 FPS which apparently makes everything ridiculously fast. If I tap the right arrow it looks like I'm teleported to the other end of the stage. Perhaps because of this I beat the jelly fish with a single tap of the X key.
Sorry but this makes the game unplayable for me.
Sorry I can't seem to download it. At around 25% completion Chrome stops downloading and 7-zip says it can't open it as an archive.
I'll keep this page bookmarked and come back for it later though.
Okay I finally got a download manager that would download this file.
Wow the graphics and the atmosphere in this game are top notch! Playing this kinda reminded me of the first time I played Resident Evil, back when it was scary.
It's pretty tough though, I run out of bullets really fast and I take at least one hit every time I use the knife.
I didn't get very far but I'll keep playing and keep a lookout for a polished version.
I really liked the portal mechanic and the art style. I was kinda disappointed when it ended after only 1 really good level but what I played was fun and I would like to see more.
Loved the graphics but the time you can be in each world is too short and it wasn't very clear to me why my shots weren't hitting until later. Getting used to the dual stick controls being switched was also weird. (Binding of Isaac uses WASD to move) But I really like the concept and enjoyed playing. Managed to last for 59 seconds.
I loved the mechanic and the visuals. It set a great mood.
My computer isn't a beast but it's pretty decent and the FPS was almost unbearably low even on what I think was the lowest quality setting.
I also felt like sometimes I was being penalized for exploring when I wanted to see what this part of the world looked like in the other, and ended up in water. I like the asynchronous worlds but this isn't the kinda of game where you should be afraid to explore.
When I talked to the knight the text scrolled through way to fast even though I just tapped the space bar. The red level was too easy and the green level felt like artificial difficulty, but the blue level was pretty good. I figured out that if you hold space you can move diagonally from the snowballs.
Death, after death, after death I beat the hardcore version, somehow with my hair intact. Really loved the atmosphere here and the difficulty was a pleasant surprise because most LD games are either way to easy or stupidly hard. Only complaint was that level 3 had a really unclear goal without looking at a guide (which I didn't) but after guessing what the game's name meant I figured it out.
@madk I honestly have no idea what would cause that. Maybe the way I zipped it?
@datacr4sh Sorry to hear that. I reuploaded the Day 1 patch with some more bug fixes I made today so it should work but I recommend downloading from the dropbox folder link.
@HellBlazer: No there isn't.
@Robot Souls Games: it would help a lot if I knew which version you're playing.
@Victory Garden: Thanks. I removed the Day 1 zipped version (too much hassle to reupload all the time) and fixed the dropbox links.
Also there is a battle theme for boss fights only. To make them more epic. :]
@J-d-H: You have to press X to open your menu and use the Humanity item to boost your usable HMN stat. This and other aspect that weren't explained well are in the Readme.txt
You can grab just that file from the first dropbox link if you want to play the original release version.
@hundredhundred: Thanks. I uploaded the missing files into the dropbox links.
Sorry but the game seemed kinda unplayable for me. Maybe it's that bug. The turret at the end of the hall could kill me almost instantly, but even if I get past it and walk to the other station and switch to the blue dimension, when I try to walk back across the bridge it switches back to the red dimension.
Why am I such a masochist? I loved every second of it. Up until the gundam killed me in level 4. Sometimes I felt like the levels were too long which is weird to say for a LD game. Also I really liked level 2, it showed good use of multiple routes depending on the powerup you have. I would've liked to see more of that.
Really nice game, love the retro style graphics. Unfortunalty Rouge-likes just isn't something I'm particularly good at and I only last a few seconds within an area.
Oh man the first LD30 game I've played and it's this good. This is pretty production quality right here. You even got the difficulty just right and some of the orbit designs were cool to watch.
It took me a little while to realize that the red and blue lanterns were switches. After that it was pretty easy except the last one. I have no idea what happened there but I beat it. It would've helped a lot if I could look up, even with the tank controls.
Also Chrome blocked the download claiming it to be malware.
I actually didn't have too much trouble with this game after I realized you can jump on most enemies including the pancakes and the toast. You made a good call on making death nearly a non-issue though. The music was pretty nice and it controls will enough. It would have been nice have something special about the last flag though so I knew the game was ending, and if it restarted you at the beginning.
Overall you guys can do better but it's still pretty good for your first(?) time as a team.
Such amazing concept, such wonderful graphix, such people exploding out of trains, such huge lasers! - 20/10 IGN
Oh man where do I begin. I loved the graphics and animations, the announcer was awesome, the music never got annoying or old, the gameplay mechanic kept me on my toes, this game is awesome. One or two minor gripes if I may.
The last ledge on the right past the bridge looks like a slope but I can't run up it.
It would've been nice if you could swap worlds faster when you tap Z then X quickly.
It did start to get a little repetitive after wave 16 and since the difficulty doesn't hit full swing till wave 13, if almost felt like I played a 12 wave tutorial and then a 8 wave game. (Decided to stop at wave 20)
All and all this is one of, if not the best, LD30 game I've played.
I really like your idea and I think you delivered it well. Unfortunatly the window is too tall for my 768 screen without hiding my taskbar.(which I did) And after that I had a lot of fun with it.
It kept me on my toes and it was surprisingly walking that thin line between difficult and fair. I never did beat the last two levels but I wish I had the time to do so.
