Quite enjoyed this one. Had to do the first few levels a couple of times to figure out proper placement of limited springs and block boxes.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD47 → Fire Exit

I like the mechanics a lot. Lemmings-style. It's a great idea but it needs some polish, mainly allow you to change an element position and reset a stage.
This is really well-made! Nice visuals (love the lighting effects) and good audio, simple and intuitive mechanics for a bitesized lemmings game. Really fun! Great puzzles too.
Though I think having to start from the beginning of the game if a man dies, despite there being a restart level button is a bit unfair. Also the click and drag seems buggy. Occasionially it would release an object while my mouse button was still held down.
Congrats!
Nice game!
This is a fun puzzle game. I liked it a lot, music is good as well. A speed up mechanic would work great. On the 5th or 6th level I pressed "Menu" accidentally. So I quit and didn't play it trough. Overall great entry
I enjoyed it, the puzzles are good and it took me several attempts to complete the second level, and the solution was satisfying. The third level looked fun but having to restart the entire game when a single person dies is waay too much in my opinion. I think it would be an acceptible post-jam fix to change that to only restart the level, and let me know if you do!
If you want some feedback for individual areas that could do with some polish - The text was quite difficult to read on the help screen - Being able to pick up boxes/springs after you put them down would make it easier to recover from mistakes - The levels were quite sensitive to slightly mispositioning the springs, which was a little frustrating. I found the 'fun' came from figuring out the order and general position, not pixel perfect!
I was always a fan of lemmings, so this brought back some memories! The characters were cute. And of course I liked the core concept and enjoyed the game. I'm not sure what the link to the theme was but thats a minor category imo anyway. Overall great game.
Hey :-) Would have been super cool to add a "Continue" Button. Because when I reached level 3 which I was already kind of proud to reach and then I didn't pressed Restart fast enough before one guy burn... I was less say feeling this as a very very hard punition when I saw I had to do all over again ahah.
Overall it's a very classic concept, but it is kind of cool to bring the fire aspect in this escape genre. Really linked the gameplay actually :-) Of course not perfect but for a 72h game it's normal.
BTW important notice : I think it would have been cool to make the difficulty curve a bit smoother with 3 or 4 even 5 simple levels before level 2 that is actually already kind of hard ! Also I like the game mechanic where the guys burnt/are cooked but not totally giving them an extra "life" Super cool !
Check out our game if you have the time :-) Cheers !
Interesting puzzle game! It was fun to make those little man jump on springs. And i also like art-style.
Hello, @ciaranw. Just wanted to clarify that the connection to theme was the people moving in an endless cycle. Im glad u liked ny game :)
First of all, congratulations on making this game, it is very polished!
The others have said almost everything I was going to say, but even with those things the game is quite enjoyable. The background music has some loud and obnoxious screeching though, and that made me want to mute it sometimes.
Very nice game overall, congratulations again! :D
I really like this kind of puzzle game and I definitely enjoyed trying to figure out the right placement of the boxes and springs for each level. However, it simply becomes untenable to actually win most of the levels due to a convergence of two issues:
- The required position for each object is very very precise. I kept restarting level 3 just to try to get the first spring in the correct place. - There's no way to move things around if they're out of place! Once you finally get one element down, if the next one is wrong as well, then you have to restart--and then you might get the first one wrong again. There's no way to *just* re-do the part that needs fixing in the moment.
As such I really don't think I'm capable of beating level 3. Especially because I got booted back to the beginning of the game after killing a guy by accident. There's simply too much trial-and-error randomness--it basically becomes a question of placing down the boxes in the approximately right position, and then seeing if you managed to hit all four pixel-perfect spots or not.
For what it's worth I thought the music was quite nice... although restarting it every time I restart the level meant it restarted very often.
So yeah, I think this game is pretty strong, it just needs some tweaks to the level design, and a way to not lose all your progress, to really round it out.
Good game, but the fact you're locked into the placement of objects is bad. Having to restart the whole level is very frustrating
Hi, @hishighness. Just wanted to say as it seems you're new to LDJam that giving good feedback when you rate other games is kinda required to boost your smart score and get people playing yours. If you look on your metrics you have rated 52 games (really high so well done) but only got 8 karma for feedback (that's "likes" on your comments). I think that might be why your ratings recieved is so much lower than ratings given and your smart score is 0.
@jam373 yes this is my first Ludum Dare and I dont know how things work around here. I play, rate and comment on games but my game rarely gets played. What do you mean exactly by "quality feedback", maybe that's what I dont understand.
@hishighness Sorry to hear that, your game is really good especially for a first time so I don't think it has anything to do with that. It must just be that you haven't been getting likes on your comments so the only thing i'd suggest for next time is to write positive helpful comments focussing on things you like about each game. Hope that helps :)
@jam373 Thank you, I think I understand now. Thank you for the help.
Unfortunately, I encounter an empty blue screen when trying to play the linux version :( I hope to play your game next jam. :/ GL.

PS: Manjaro 19 ; archlinux 64bit -- there's not many of us :D
Good job! Keep up the good work. Th game has nice visuals and good gameplay.
The game mechanics and idea of the game is good. Though as I am bad with puzzles, I wasn't able to get past level 2. Also, there was this bug that if the game restarted via losing, then it restarted back from level 1, though it didn't happened if done through pause menu.
But at the same time, I liked the puzzles and general mechanics of the game. As of writing, I don't think I can finish the game. But either way, it was a great entry! :)
Good game mechanics, I would like have had a "restart level" button also when I fail. Got frustrated when I had to start from the first level when I had already gotten far. I enjoyed the puzzles :)
@skyvastern It was not a bug, it was intentional. I wanted to give the player more chances to know the where to place objects, but reset their progress if they let a person die. Sort of like a half-roguelike :)
@kallthar, Im sorry to hear that the game didnt work on your linux version. I thought it would be fine if tested on one linux version, Debian, which it worked fine on. Again, very sorry.
@hishighness No worries there, I'm just sorry I didn't get to test it out :)) Seems great. I love puzzles. Hopefully next time.
This game brought me back some Lemmings nostalgia, so thanks for that. There is a lot of room for improvement here, like the ability to restart the level is really needed for this game. Other than that, good job!
