Hey there! Played your game, and while the gameplay is minimal, I did enjoy the atmosphere of it quite a bit! The name is weird, the story (and I praise you for having one :p) is weird, the king fish is really weird, and the music is weird, but in the nice way. So you made a weird game and I enjoyed the small time I had with it! Good job!
Thank you for variety @dev-dennis
I love the poke idea and that king-fish was just ridiculous funny! It's a clever take on the theme and pretty innovative in its own way xD The atomsphere was really great at the intro, loved that. Maybe weird but great entry :) But you have to improve the controls a bit, there aren't feeling perfect at the moment.
Overall really nice job

Nice intro you made there :) I liked my strong poke of desctruction and that king oh man, really had to laugh at that one :D Good job!

Fun! I had fun finding the King, the backstory is well thought and you nailed the immersion (pun intended), I felt underwater! I liked the hand and fish movements, the game is a lot in 48h!

Nice atmosphere and presentation. I loved the humor. Poking ugly fish is right up my ally, I must admit. It made me chuckle quite a bit. If the fish made varying, funny sounds depending on their size it would have made the game perfect, of course.
Some kind of game mechanic, even a totally pointless poke meter or something like that would have done wonders for the game, though. Well done!
Haha the name alone made me chuckle!
I like the graphics and sound of the game and of course poking things is always nice. Though I would recommend clamping the camera rotation so you won't end up with an upside down camera ;)

Nice story, and cavern filled with fishes is beautiful. I'm sure you would add more creature types if you had time. Interacting the world through poking is a great idea. Big con for me is lack of invert mouse Y option, a percentage of gaming population can never feel comfortable in first person game withont invert mouse option. Also I never managed to find the king fish :S any tips?

The X rotation is at a different sensitivity then the Y rotation. That said, the peculiarity and oddness of the game was intriguing. So I was a tad disappointed when the game had little to offer in terms of game mechanics.
@aviland @geared-games @psychead @fanu @yves @samurai-spark @xangotrick Guys thank you so much for the feedback, I didn't notice the mouse issue, but it's something I will look into. Thanks :)
Regarding mechanics, yeah it's pretty basic. I didn't want to go too crazy but focused on creating a small experience instead.
@kr4ft3r I can say that he is not where you would expect him to be :)
Hey there! What an interesting game you created there :D It was very short and the gameplay was more than simplistic, but the atmosphere was interesting and your world a strange and worthwile place to explore.

Nice experience ! There's not much game play into it but the graphics are wonderful and the atmosphere is really intriguing.
@gurkenlabs Thanks for playing it :) and the nice words.
@kroute Thank you :) Yeah I wish to add a bit more of exploration to it once the jam judging is over.
I took a poke at this game and found it to have a very humorous concept executed with great graphics and sound effects. I did feel a bit bad about the fish that I poked dying in a bloody explosion - poking should be a non-lethal sport IMO. At least the rare kingfish survived the poking. Overall, great job!

:fish: :fish: :fish: Very interesting idea, could imagine this as the base for a longer game. I liked the level design a lot. Performance became a bit of an issue if longer distances were rendered. Cool game!
Very strange game, but probably the best game I've ever played about poking fish. The music and sound effects were spot on, and I really liked the models for the fish. Great effort!
Weird but interesting and funny game nonetheless! I really liked the atmosphere and the graphics as well as the hand animations. The concept was silly enough (in a good way) that if fully implemented, it could be a really great and fun game! Great job! :D
Nice entry!
Some criticism: - touching any of the wall colliders causes the camera to jitter - quite a few typos in the intro text - I think I would have preferred it a bit more if fish-poking was a non-violent activity :p
I got bored after a few minutes and gave up, but I'm curious to know if the King Fish actually exists in the game, or if part of the joke is making the player poke fish into extinction in pursuit of their quest.

Beautiful little game, and the setup had me laughing out loud. Nice music, and top notch modelling on the freaky-looking fishes.

Some wonky looking fishes (nicely modelled!), I wonder what kind of a radioactive puddle is the protagonist swimming in.
It's a 48 hour game so cannot expect loads of content, but well, it still felt a bit empty-handed. With more silly stuff to do and explore the game could be quite fun, but as it is right now, personally it falls a bit short. I found the King Fish though!
Another problem is that the game had a really low performance compared to the actual graphical quality, the few dozen fish don't really justify constant framerate spikes and the resulting unresponsiveness with controls.
In any case, it was an exquisite poking experience. Well done!
very nice idea Well Done

Well that sure is a rather ... Unique idea. Kinda feels like you aimed too high on this one, honestly I'm amazed you could do this much in 2 days. Music kinda feels weird but the sound effects were nice!
Nice game you made there Dennis! And as expected some nice 3D work :) Could be cool if you could poke the stones away so you can get closer to the fish. Good job!

Very unique! Definitely lived up to it's name (which is a great name for a game!)
The level does a great job of making me feel underwater. I think the banding shadows along the terrain, the floating particles and the blurring filter do a good job. The goofy fish are nice to prod about! They swim in a way I would expect fish to. They're nice and big and fat, so instantly I'm like "Going to poke the hell out of that." And watching them effectively die and float to the surface was a laugh.
Some notes for improvement. I'm all too sure why I had to walk through some tunnels to get to the fun bit though. I think it may have been an error to include that beginning walking section. The scene could of been based in a pit and I could of spawned on the lip above it. Then I would know where to go and what to go for straight away. "There's the fun stuff down there, let's go have a look!" I think that would have a more exciting effect on the level design, with much less work/time spent. Secondly the Field of View on the camera is quite pinched it. It can make some people quite ill. A lot of Unreal engine games seem to default the FOV too small. It's a small thing but it's easy to change and makes the game more accessable to a lot of people.
Even with the above critique, I am pretty astounded with what you put together in a weekend. So really well done! Would poke again.
