Simple game, and it works, but i don't understand why will my hive die. Is there some time limit? By the way the minimap is great.
thx on ldjam I didnt have too much time so I do something like conut of flowers if on stage more than 15 you will die :) - city is New York - Manhatan
I did't realize there was a timer until I lost - could put that up on the screen. And maybe a way to know how many flowers I need to win. Maybe you could expand this game idea by studying how bees find pollen and how they see and make some cool visual effects to help guide you to your victory.
of course thx for comments - I didn't have time to do timer or flowers to win I will polish game :) I really enjoy that somebody play my little game
Good job, maybe the city is too much big and it's makes too hard to pick the flowers fast enough because of that. Could be better if it would have some way to know how are you doing it as some more told you. But the time is what it is. Good job anyway.
The minimap worked really well to find the flowers - not a feature you usually see in a jam game, so well done. I thought I was doing pretty good, but I let my hive down. Definitely agree with others that there should be some feedback when the player getting ready to lose.

The movement needs work, moving left and right and back is super slow, make it a similar speed to fowards, and the angular momentum when turning is a bit nauseating, maybe reduce that. Make it so you slide along walls when moving rather than coming to a stop.
Needs to be clear what the goal and end game condition are. You die for no obvious reason.
Why are you collecting the flowers, make it feel meaningful rather than just collecting things for the sake of it. Suggestion: add a hive where you start and must go out and gather pollen from flowers quickly and return to the hive before they run out, so the player feels they have a reason for it, if they don't the hive will die and they know they are counting on the player to get them quickly for them.
thx impbox
Haha, interesting way to reinterpret fps controls. The visuals were very nice looking with the minimap. Gameplay wise collecting could be interesting, but there's no reason or motivation given for why the player should collect them (other than that they are a bee). For example if it was more of an exploration thing perhaps the flowers are harder to find and you only get a radar or sensor telling you it's nearby. Or if it's more action based perhaps you're dodging things to get to the flowers. There's any number of ways the design could affect how the game plays. Anyway, keep up the good work!

My best Score is 9. Well done ! It s much harder than I thought. It would be nice to have some kind of idea of how much time you still have left. Overall good entry!
It was a fun game - love the map. I did find it tricky to move anywhere but forwards - but that's probably just me! It would be better if you had a goal or clearer motivation - but nicely done in the time allowed. Please expand/improve it in the future!
The game is fun, turning is a bit pain but the sensitivity of the mouse compensate that :P, I like the concept I just would love to have some kind of a timer or something that will tell my if I'm closer to losing or winning :D, other than that pretty nice game!
Pretty game , you did nice work. Gameplay is fun too but you could make better graphic quality.
A really good take on theme, but the controls need work. Also it'd be nice if the user was given more feedback as to how long they have left.
That was cute! Not sure why I would lose though, was there a timer, a point goal?
Fun entry! The bee was quite big on the minimap, and I didn't even know I had a timer - but I did enjoy flying around a bit hunting down flowers.
Well done, thanks for sharing!
Cool idea! I got 10 points. I'm assuming there was some sort of timer that ran out, it would be nice to have some sort indication of that on the screen. It would also be nice to be able to change the look sensitivity, my bee turned way too fast.
I really like your map design, despite being slightly textured apparently random (mostly) rectangular solids, it's varied and interesting and complex, and seems like it was cheap to make - was it randomly generated? The controls are nice and work well, the only downside is there isn't a lot to do, but really nice work overall :)
I played this on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/141022066 - time 0:48:05
I was a busy bee! Still, having a hard time getting more than 12. Mini-map is a great help! Control is a little strange. Forward momentum actually changes based on where front is pointing even after I stop pressing W. Also, strafe controls are very, very slow. Finally, I feel a slight bump when collecting flowers. Not sure if by design or from using colliders instead of triggers.
@ryte2byte yes it is slight when you taking flowwers(It is for using colliderS), I will change this on trigger - thx
@sgstair thx for putting my game on twitch and thx for play, I do something like if on stage is more than 15 flowers you die and game finish - i will polish my game make hive make better conditions for win or loose thx
I've never had 15 points my Highscore was 11
Loved the visuals. The bee was freaky! hehe. Liked the use of a minimap, that seemed very polished. Maybe if you were to add to it, add some additional levels with enemies and the like or things to avoid.
Good job! Thanks for Sharing!
Cute bees
:bee:
The bee looks great, and I like the essence of the game! I specially like that it's quite easy to get disoriented adding some difficulty to the game. Some more flower variety would be lovely (This way you also have to prioritize different flowers.
Keep up the good work!
I liked the graphics quite a bit. The mouse sensitivity was a little much though, it felt difficult to control as I was turning way too fast to actually control reasonably. There also seemed to be no indication of how much time I had left, which felt odd. I got the impression initiallly that I had as long as I wanted to move around, but then seemingly randomly got timed out. Also, on a game over, the controls should probably be locked and what-not and properly reset... I thought it broke initially when the game over screen came up. Otherwise, pretty well executed collect-em-up game.
Are you sure this isn't actually a flying hamburger? I'm ok with it if that's the case.
@bemmu its a artistic version of Bee :)
Your artistic take on bee is very surreal, I like it :D
In the future, if you'll be updating the game, it could use an indicator that game over is near (if flower count is too high from what I see), and some control tweaks, maybe a lower default mouse sensitivity or ability to set it.
Good job overall, especially with making all the assets, idea is simple but executed coherently, graphics are interesting (while simple, still not too simplistic - and map doesn't feel repetitive).
Cheers!
I like bees :) Good job !
Nice game, beeutiful experience. It reminded me of an old dos game "Quarantine" about... erm... a taxi driver (beep-beep). Maybee because of the way the city looks and the Perimeter and stuff. The mouse sensitivity is a beet too high though.
I also like how the bee looks, I guess you have to bee a bee made of some metal (beesmuth?) to bee living in a city.
