The idea of playing a mini game in order to defeat an enemy is nice, but the game itself (Pong) is just too slow. Also, the ugly endboss(?) is unbeatable, more or less. Dunno, I stopped trying, sorry.
First I thought you have to escape the dungeon, but then the ugly guy said something about a princess, so I think you missed the theme. ;)
Fazit: It would have been nice if you had some more polish in it, it just feels incomplete as a whole. Which is said, because I like Dungeon Crawlers. :)

Hey, no I really didn't miss the theme, I just didn't finish the dialogue/story :P

My plan was to do 2 more levels after this one, and Jim the titular main character was to be a random convict, misinterpreted as a hero come to save the princess. He just wanted to escape from prison, but was forced into a role, I never quite got to express this, though :P

I'd add "it's too slow" to your self criticism. But you've scored with "It's too dangerous... errr" line :)

I was so happy when the first type of bad guy was 'bat', coz it fit the pong metaphor really well... I woulda liked it if you took the use of the minigame a bit further in story.

Agreed that pong was too slow, especially once you started having to win a number of times...

Cannot skip cutscenes... text is slow, cannot skip. Combat pong is an interesting idea but gets old very fast. Loved the tie in for the old LD theme.
