Fun- signing up for the beta
Thanks for the comments, everyone- in the more polished version, full release version I am working on, I've granted thrusters two hits (and given them bounce-back so you don't plow your ship through an asteroid and lost have your maneuverability in one fell swoop as often). That's the magic of LD48, I suppose- there's probably no better showcase of designer fallacy difficulty level issues.
I think I cheated on the last level (I only bashed one of the first set of gates and the hid behind it while recharging).
I had a few clipping errors. My biggest concern is level 2- since you can't jump you're basically just holding down the right arrow and waiting for the level to end.
Simple and fun. The programming-specific powers are great. If you keep working on it, a portal that opened up after X seconds to take you to another level would give a nice change of scenery.
Interesting but it was hard mentally mapping the locations to the map without any directional cues
I think level 3 was a bit brutal in terms of timing too, but I think the concept was elegant and well executed. The minimal graphics worked, would be interesting to see the various different tiles you tend to see in these games (slippery floor, switches that open gates, etc). I also REALLY wanted to trap the cop to detain him, so any new levels that did that would be a plus :)
I really liked the art style- it has a very painterly feel.
The lettering is cool but I think it might work better if the zombies _started_ milling about where they were going to end up and then marched to their destinations... took a while for the letters to resolve which made reloading a little slow. Great 8bit zombies!
I like the slingshot effect (though at first I was worried I would be atmo braking). agree that the asteroids are hard to avoid at high speeds- maybe some indicators before they arrive?
Solid iPhone game you've got here with a few tweaks. Theming is impeccable.
Had to play it two-handed, but it's an interesting concept. I felt that fires were easy enough to contain- I did controlled burns to open windows on one side. Maybe if putting out fires had a cooldown they'd be more of a threat?
Faster draw would be nice... also I had some problems on the second level when there were two paths I could take (either correct) and it would only let me take one... the atmosphere is great.
