Nice entry. I kept slamming into blocks though. :(

Nice entry. I kept slamming into blocks though. :(
Launching went to a black screen, that had a window, the contents of which were also black. Mouse didn't work. I had to mash the keyboard until I found whatever key got me out of there.
This application has failed to start because MSVCP100.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
Wouldn't run. Downloaded a bunch of stuff, but then the page stayed blank. Chrome on Windows XP.
The graphics take me back to the Atari 2600. Nostalgia points! Plus, anyone that can play FOTBB on the piano gets a bonus vote from me.
Good entry. I didn't realize it was "snake" until I read some of the comments. I was getting frustrated because I was lapping the paparazzi. Like everyone else, I kept trying to maneuver them into the path of cars.
Very nice entry.
My self-esteem is going to require that I cry foul and say that you couldn't have done this in 48 hours. :)
Very nice job. I got stuck on the three-headed dog. After grabbing six leg bones from the dead adventurer, I still couldn't get past.
Very solid entry. One of the best I've played this time around.
This was fun! I was a little confused at the beginning, and kept trying to collect the "green coins", until I realized I was slamming into trees. That's why I stay on the bunny slopes. Nice overall package. The warning bars at the bottom helped, but the walls really shot out at you.
Loved the visual style. I wish I didn't have to completely restart the level each time. Very nicely done.
Never made it to the escape sphere. Kept getting pummeled by drones. Didn't seem like there was much of a way to avoid detection.
Graphics were very nice. Sound was a little thin.
Could be the start of something really good though. Nice job.
What did you do the other 46 hours?
Very fun games. Physics were good, but control was a little thick.
Gah. I kept doing a two finger click on my track pad and bringing up the Flash menu, and then the space bar wouldn't work. I face planted many times. Nice entry, apart from the menu thing.
That was a hoot! Love the retro vector graphics. The physics were good. Music was good (if a bit repetitive). Probably my favorite game so far. Nice job!
An interesting idea, if I completely understood it.
You need a better download site. Dropbox is pretty painless. But trying to figure out which of the download links was actually yours was a pain. And then had to sit for the wait timer. And then a rar file. Sigh. I'll have to look at this one when I'm back on my own machine.
Agree with the checkpoints. I ended up dying in the same spot four times. Quadruple bleh!
Nice, very smooth. Great job!
I got an error on startup. I'm using IE, on a computer other than mine, so I'll try again when I get home.

Ok, I tried it again with a non-sucky browser, and it worked.
Graphics were good. Light effect was nice. Targets were pretty small.
You seemed to have some kind of collision error. There were times when I couldn't advance down the street until I moved to other lane, even though there was nothing visible in front of me.
Nice job overall!
Nice job!
Very nice job! I like the twist on the theme (preventing escape, instead of trying to escape). Controls were pretty intuitive.
I found a bug (I think). At one point, I paused it, went back to the main menu, clicked back through to the game, and it was still at the pause screen. Nothing seemed to work to unpause. I could press Q to go back to the menu, but that was it.
Apart from that, very nice entry.
Great entry! I agree that with some polish, it would make a good touch game.
Aiming seemed to be off, by as much as ten degrees at times.
I noticed that if I put the targeting pip on myself and fired, that bullets would start piling up around me.
Lag was ok for the first few levels, then got to unplayable. Probably because of my stationary bullet shield. :)
First rule of programming - It always runs fine on *your* machine. :)
It's been a long time since I messed with Java, but is this line from Entity.draw loading the image from disk every time, or does it get cached by the runtime?
URL imageFind = this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResource(imref);
If you're loading it from disk every frame, that would be a massive speedkill right there. Just something I noticed, as I said, my java-fu is weak.
No need for a global variable unless you have multiple classes using the image (and even then, there are better ways). Make the image a static variable of the entity class. Each subclass can set their own, and the image only gets loaded once per class. Every instance would use the class variable.
Seems like a great idea, but I couldn't get the hang of the controls.
The addictive qualities of tetris plus the addictive qualities of a platformer. Nicely done!
Couldn't play -
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "game.py", line 9, in <module>
pygame.key.set_repeat(100,100)
pygame.error: video system not initialized
Very nice look! I could see this expanding into some kind of Diablo like dungeon
NIce job! Not having sound hurt. The puzzles were pretty simple; but difficult to get through.
Graphics were very nice. Would have been better with sound and music. Game play was alright; it was sometimes difficult to gauge where I was.
Solid entry!
Really great game! Interesting concept. Controls are straightforward. My brain isn't used to think in two layers like that. Only possible recommendation might be to make it a top-down scroller instead of side scroller, because then the controls would map more readily to what's going on.
Nice job!
Very nice graphics. I loved the way the buildings had parallax. Could have used some spooky music. And maybe some signs or something. I never did find the exit.
Great entry!
I got an "application failed to initialize properly (0xc000000035)" error. I'll try a few more entries to make sure it isn't something goobered up on my machine, but as it stands now, I can't run it.
Wasn't quite sure what to do in this. Button mashing occasionally made the white guy fling something red to the dog thing. But I couldn't get more than that. Sorry. :(
This is one that I want to go back and spend some more time with after the voting round. Nicely done.
