The download link isn't working.

jonatron 2011-08-23 06:42

should be fixed now

jonatron 2011-08-23 06:43

will upload a 32 bit version tomorrow probably

felipe-budinich 2011-08-23 18:30

Cool, kinda can't test it at the moment due to the 64bit limitation. Unless there's no installer, if that's the case i'll be able to test it at uni later today :-D

frimkron 2011-08-23 21:36

Windows 7, 64-bit, but I have an ATI card :( Looks like it gets an error while compiling the shader

I like the mechanized lightbulb idea, especially with its big round eyes.

However, negative points for poor control keys (who uses Alt key to jump?), and for the installer polluting my start menu (and most likely my registry too).

I would love to try it, but it seems DLLs are missing from the 32-bit installer.

>>who uses Alt key to jump?

Commander Keen, that's who! Not to mention Jazz Jackrabbit
PLus Jill of the Jungle, plus ...

Jeez, kids today don't know the classics

Next time please don't use installer (it's even written in the rules...), especially not working installer - 32 bit version doesn't contain sdl.dll. Not a big problem to download of course. But game doesn't work either (editor does) and reports wrong dll signature (tried with few versions of sdl I found on the net). And then uninstaller leaves it's beatifully named C / Documents and Settings / Administrator / Start menu folder in my start menu so I have to manually locate it and delete it...

x64 version crashes on x64 Win7; x32 says SDL.dll is missing. Assuming it's Simple DirectMedia Layer, I put that, but it crashes. Putting the SDL.dll from x64 install crashes it too. Gave up :(

I'm sorry but I seriously hated having to run an installer and how it didn't even uninstall properly. If I was you I would take down the install links and replace them with zip files asap if you want more people to try your game. Anyway I use Win7, and when I ran it I got the following error...

Unhandled exception: eng\graphics\shader.cpp(150): Throw in function void __cdecl eng::graphics::shader::compile_shader(class std::basic_istream<char,struct std::char_traits<char> > &,unsigned int,enum eng::graphics::shader::stages)
Dynamic exception type: class boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<struct eng::graphics::shader::compile_error>
std::exception::what: Unknown exception
[struct eng::graphics::tag_compilation_log * __ptr64] = Vertex shader was successfully compiled to run on hardware.

summaky 2011-08-27 16:48

Can't run it at all. It shows the following error:

---------------------------
Critical Error
---------------------------
Unhandled exception: eng\graphics\shader.cpp(150): Throw in function void __thiscall eng::graphics::shader::compile_shader(class std::basic_istream<char,struct std::char_traits<char> > &,unsigned int,enum eng::graphics::shader::stages)
Dynamic exception type: class boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<struct eng::graphics::shader::compile_error>
std::exception::what: Unknown exception
[struct eng::graphics::tag_compilation_log *] = Vertex shader was successfully compiled to run on hardware.

The zip version worked fine for me. I really like the idea of your lightbulb getting progressively dimmer, but the level design felt a little unforgiving. I kept banging my head as I was trying to jump across to other platforms, which made the whole thing very fiddly.

benjamin-soule 2011-09-12 15:25

nice bulb robot :) but it float 20-30pixels above the plaforms and reseting on monster collision is violent.
The light radius is a good idea, you should add extra battery bonus or break the bulb on head collision :)

ajmilsom 2011-09-12 18:40

love the ideaof a lightbulb that goes out, but could have done with some checkpoints, kept dieing and didnt like going to the start
