Nice take on the platform genre. Fun to play and innovative! Maybe could use a little bit of polish to make the gameplay slightly faster. As it is now I alternated a lot between using the head and the body.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD21 → GTFO - The Game

This is aquite fun idea.
I did have some problems however with the tutorial-text, which was quite hard to read, and the fact that you needed to illuminate it. Also, the enemies were quite hard and unforgiving.
Yeah, the gameplay definitely needs some polishing, but unfortunately I didn't have the time for it.

The tutorial text was only a workaround, because I didn't have the time to implement a message system.

That's part of the concept, that you use the head for certain parts and the body for other parts, but also use both to reach the exit. The levels have been made rather quickly, so perhaps they're not good enough to really motivate the player to use different combinations.
But thanks a lot for the comments! :)
Awesome, it's really well done. But after 4 or 5 levels, I got errors and had to close the game.
What kind of errors did you get? Did it say something?
When starting the game I see a message that says: "Unexpected error occured[sic] when running the game" and then it quits. I am on Windows 7. Any clues?
I never heard of such errors with Game Maker games. And I'm using the standard library only. Did you try the version I uploaded directly on YoYo Games? They're identical, but who knows?
Perhaps you could also try to run it in compatibility mode.
Hope that helps.

The game was certainly innovative, but you should have restricted the amount of gameplay elements you throw at us at the same time.
The most fun and innovative element was the plaform/head, I think you should focus on that element, and design the levels around it.
The cannons and darkness are too much to handle at the same time.
Some really nice ideas in there :) I think if you'd introduce the game mechanics slowly it'd be a lot nicer to the player.
Surprised this hasn't gotten more ratings! Definitely a good entry.
Cheers,

Really enjoyed this. Very fresh take on the puzzle platformer.
