Firefox 6, MacOS X 10.7. Game shows up as a solid purple square.

Worked for me (Win7/Chrome) Found a score bug :o) Hold enter and your score increases! I got over 9000m! What's with the bees though?

nothinggames 2011-08-23 01:51

i couldn't get it to run either, solid purple square :(

Hello all,
Fixed the bug stopping it loading in some browsers. (Seemed like the general consensus is that you’re allowed to fix that type of bug?)

And about the bees: I didn’t get time to implement them! Just like all of the other obstacles and random level generation I was meant to do.

Learning CoffeeScript whilst doing this slowed me down way more than expected.

Oh well, next time. : )

Love, love the game concept. Enjoyed not having to control the little man and just provide bridges for him.

Awesome job!

tcstyle 2011-08-23 19:36

Took some tiem to figure out I control the bridges (haven't read beforehand). At first try I thought there is some crude buggy delay in my jumping. Anyways, nice and unusual idea.

cirrial 2011-08-26 18:20

Nice idea with the bridges. I ran out of level and died, though. Not sure if that was a bug or just running out of time, but I understand the constraints of the compo so I'll let that slide.

austinbirch 2011-08-26 20:32

Thanks!

Yeah, it's very incomplete. There were going to be more mechanics than just bridges, and also random level generation too.

Never got round to it though.

The idea is nice, but I found the implementation a little boring. Probably if you had time to add the other ideas left unimplemented due lack of time, it would be better.

Very nice concept, shame you didn't have time to implement all the features you wanted. I like the jump animation :)

I liked that there was actually just one control, and that Tom moved and jumped on his own. Could make for a good mobile game. The timing for the bridges though was extremely unforgiving - allowing a bigger area for the bridge operation would help a lot.
