Was hard to understand the game and i didnt manage to make the supercharge work. Also the bullets shot by the player seemed quite random. Eitherway, congratulations on your LD game :D

I love your drawings. Wish it were clearer what letting the bullets graze me was 'getting' me -- I realized later that *my* bullets were getting bigger over time, but not a lot of feedback as to what that translates into (I assume damage?). The grazing mechanic was really interesting and made for a challenge. Moody music too :)
nice game but you should add a background or something to make the world larger
This is a weird entry, the graphics and music are all very trippy :) It's a decent shmup, but the movement is a bit floaty. I would prefer more precise controls and more bullet hell action.
@appoxgames Yeah I tried to explain it in the dialogue in the beginning of the game but in retrospect the concept behind this game probably wasn't the greatest for a game jam lol. The idea behind this game is structured around a mechanic that shows up in some bullet hell games called bullet grazing. The pink circle in the center is your hitbox. If a bullet touches it you take damage. Surrounding the pink circle is a blue circle. If a bullet goes through the blue circle you graze it and get a powerup. The main goal behind the game is a dance between getting close enough to enemy bullets to steal their power and far enough that you don't take any damage. Still thanks for both playing my game and leaving feedback! I'll try and update the description to hopefully steer newer players in the right direction.
The art looks.... ok, but you can't enjoy it at its fullest with those sound effects, slow gameplay and dull atmosphere. The game is painfully slow, and I always had to restart the entire game if I made just one single mistake. I *did* finish it, but it was in now way satisfactory
@sode Yeah I definitely wanted to do to add a background with some parallax to give a sense of scale but it got lost in the feature creep lol. Thanks for playing!
@neverix I should have ratcheted up the difficulty way before the final boss to give the player more bullets to graze and a much better overall feel to the game. It was originally supposed to feel like you were clawing your way up from having nothing but a dinky single shot weapon to a powerful cannon at the end but the pacing was all off. Still, thanks for soldiering on and getting through it!
Definitely one of the "moodier" games I've played this jam. The drawings and music are all really eerie :scream:
My main feedback is that the controls feel floaty. I took a quick peek at your code and I see: ``` horizontalMovement = Input.GetAxis("Horizontal"); verticalMovement = Input.GetAxis("Vertical"); ``` You should use `GetAxisRaw`. Otherwise, Unity will put an artificial acceleration curve on the player's input
@frenchie Hey thanks for playing the game, thanks for looking into the source code and identifying one of the issues, and thanks for suggesting a solution! Most useful comment I've gotten this jam!
