very enjoyable

I liked it and played to the end. You can cheese though by shooting enemies with the help of the mini map. If you are too far away they won't attack.

Nice little game. Good job !

fun game, and I'm impressed by the procedural generation!

drskort 2021-04-27 21:19

The game was really well done ^^ I like how the planets were procedully generated. You could maybe add even more procedural elements to the game if you want to keep working on it. The difficulty was pretty good even though the enemies had an exploitable vulnerability: You can easily shoot them out of range. Also it's possible to "snipe" them using the minimap. You could maybe make the range of the enemies bigger or let them move around randomly. All in all it's a pretty solid game :)

Awesome game! At first it felt like I was moving too fast but I eventually liked how quick the gameplay was. I beat it as well! I definitely started cheesing the enemies after a while. You can use your minimap and aim at enemies that wont shoot back at you heh. Either way, great entry and fun little shooter. Keep up the good games!

The game looks really cool! Well done :)

The fast paced gameplay was a lot of fun.

Procedural map generation works well too, I think the Earth one was probably my favourite as there's a little bit more variation with like the land, sand and sea bits.

Most importantly, the ship sprites look really cool!

@danvil, @drskort, @timbertoes, I wondered how easily people would spot that little bug

very fast controls) but I actually think this can be seen as some kinda mechanic and can be unique part of the game. This one in partucullar was fun but could be more challanging and have more types of enemies to fight) Well done anyways)

:heavy_check_mark: The ship's movement is kinda cool, moves very fast and it feels very smooth, there could be potential here to be a really fun fast-paced combat.

I think the idea of having to fight a system-wide infasion freeing it planet by planet is really neat, maybe this could be expanded upon by giving it a heavier narrative element.

:x: I'm not the first one to mention this, but it's really easy to cheese through the levels by sniping the enemy ships from outside the screen.

Maybe this could be much more interesting if the enemy ships were moving all the time (even if they're not shooting while off-screen) instead of standing completely still until they get on screen.

Nice arcade shooter and meta theme. Nice diversion.

The ship controls felt very good, fast and just smooth enough. Audio wise it would have been better to have the sound when the ship gets hit be different than the enemy being hit. I think having other types of ennemies would've helped the game feel less repetitive, but hey, this is compo !

Overall I had fun, good job !

First I didn't get how is it related to the theme, but then recalled the phrase "deep space"! :) Really liked that I can trace my shots on the minimap and kill enemies from the safe distance. I also tried flying fast near the enemies, hoped that they would have killed each other, but looks like the enemies' bullets don't hurt them. So, I cleaned the whole system myself :)

Nice game!

I liked the retro-style graphics, they reminded me of the time when I did animations with deluxe paint as a kid and wished I could make games. Minimap was also very cool!

The game could have used more sounds - (hit sounds and engine sounds would have been good) or music and some variety of enemies to spice it up some. Enemies could have move around when they are not in range and start homing to you on range as they do now... So they wouldn't be sitting ducks.

Still, it was fun blowing stuff up and I played it all the way through. Good gob!
