This is interesting!
Without upgrades there is only one dive possible before running out of time. So I grabbed the most I could carry. I liked the different things that have different weights and stuff. I liked the ambient sound. Congratulations in publishing a game!
Cool and short game. Great compo entry. Wish there were more upgrades and maybe a harder mode. boat.png
I had fun playing your game! I felt a bit frustrated by the hard cap on rope length, that just felt like hitting a wall rather than trying to reach out to far, maybe more give/springiness to feel that we are reaching a limit, or a visual indicator of the length.
I myself **[collect GitHub entries](https://github.com/stars/dhmmasson/lists/ludum-dare-58)**: So it's super nice to see you have used GitHub during the development process of the game (64 conventional commits). I also collect tips and tricks to make repositories cool and discoverable :
You can update the repository name (I always name my repo ldXX and I rename when I have found a name for my game) without breaking links (GitHub redirects old names to new ones), and add a description for inclusion in the list (
Include the link to your ldjam entry in the Readme. I also have created badges that you can use to decorate your README:
``` Ludum Dare Ludum Dare 58 - Compo Ludum Dare 58 - Jam Ludum Dare 58 - Extra ```
Screenshot 2025-10-06 at 08.35.40.png
Consider using these **topics** on your github description to make your Ludum Dare entry more discoverable: - `game` - `game-development` - `ludum-dare` - `ludumdare` - `ludumdare58` - `ludum-dare-58` - `ld58`
You can also use your cover art for the ```Social preview``` image in the repository ```Settings```
I have starred and added your repository to a list of ld58 compo:
(Also, I am on a quest to have a repo reach 10 stars. If you play my game, consider [leaving a star on my repo](https://github.com/dhmmasson/tilesCollector) as well.)
If you know more tips and trick I am eager to improve this list.
Very cool! Awesome magnet mechanic and loevly art.
Very simple game, but the upgrade mechanics are (as always) addicting. A bit short, but ending with infinite money was a funny surprise.
Cool game. Hooked me for long enough to collect the treasure and witness the end screen. I wish there were more upgrades and progression. Good job! :D
Nice game, physics is well handled: we have to be carefull about the velocity of our hook and the direction of the objects taken to not lose them, I had fun !
A magnet fishing game? Don't mind if I do. And now I have INFINITE money! Liked the risk/reward aspect of this one. A bit too short though, would have played for another hour with more upgrades. Fun physics game, great job!
YOOOO cool magnet mechanic!! beat the game on my 5th day. short but sweet game good job :)
The magnet physics were cool! Makes for an interesting challenge as you upgrade the speed. Got the treasure at day 6 :>
Very relaxing! Great scope for Ludum Dare!
Ah yes, infinite money. I should buy a magnet. Cool game! I liked that you had to take care to not move the magnet to quickly so that the items has a chance to stay attached. Good job :)
I got the treasure! Good job on this. It was nice that even though you were a bit too late to bring your things back up they kept rising for just a bit more, counting as income even though the day was over :) It was short, but nice art, sound and nice look and feel of the rope and magnet mechanic. Cool you use a custom engine, is it your own?
Could've used a bit more depth and with that even more upgrades. The graphics were the best part, fitting nicely together as a package. Couldn't quite confirm it, but it felt like the magnet had the classic movement issue where moving diagonally is faster than in straight lines, but that isn't an issue, just funny.
*Played to find that the real treasure was the friends made along the way, but got some bulky gold instead...*
Very fun and short game ! It needed focus but wasn't really hard so it was very pleasing to play. The rope physic is a nice addition and looks so good !
I got surprised when I fully upgraded my speed and saw that the items weren't attracted that much, maybe it would have been a great extra upgrade slot, to improve the magnet strength ?
Good entry, good job !
Somehow this game has got me hooked. A chilling fishing game is always good thing :D
Congrats on a fun game! It would be worth having more upgrades to keep the player hooked for longer.
This reminds me of ridiculous fishing :smile: It's quite polished, it's got an ending (not many compo entries manage to do that), the graphics fits the game. I had to raise the volume quite some notches to hear the background music (that sounds like white noise, is it intended to simulate the underwater atmosphere?) The gameplay mechanic is fun. You could probably turn this into a casual mobile game if you add more content and variety. Grats!
