I liked the fact that crows only started moving when an acorn spawned. I found myself spotting new acorns that way - so it was quite clever addition!
Fun little game!

Fun little game!
My satanic squirrel is now pleased with their unholy tree of nuts! Kudos. :)
Acorns be praised. Nice game
satanic squirrels and asshole crows 🙏
Blessed be the acorns.
Smooth controls and fun concept!
Pleasant to control the squirrel. Like the idea and the atmosphere!
Obligatory: Collectin Deeezzz NUTZ!
A very amazing and fun game!! Still curious about what the squirrel is summoning!
nice little moody entry here! haha nuts, pumpkins, and hexing a tree, what's not to love? xD
A good game with an unusual mechanic.
Don't mess with squirrels. The Game
Moody game. Looking forward to halloween are we? But it's still a nice little collecting game. Is there any way to fail? Or is it always just a matter of collecting more nuts?
A very fun little game with clear objectives and simple yet engaging gameplay. Unfortunately, it’s a bit short — once you collect enough pinecones, it’s over. The visuals are great, the character is super cute, and I’m looking forward to seeing more content!
@olddog Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked it. I think there could be a lot added mechanics wise, like more movement types or ways to interact with the crows. Not really sure how to make it longer. Maybe an infinite mode? Or a round based system with upgrades you can buy (with nuts)?
@cogcomp Thanks! Yes, looking forward to halloween indeed. Currently there is no loose condition. I was considering maybe having something like a timer that runs out. Or a way for the crows to attack an hurt the player. Would appreciate any suggestions!
@nash I wish I had had time to add a bit of an idle animation to the crows, but I do like that they also help in this way! @ajile3105 It's supposed to summon itself protection for the winter. I wanted to add some sort of dome effect that surrounds the tree the more nuts you had. I originally thought that the pentagram lines could become impassible to the crows when charged but thought that would make the game too easy.
A simple and enjoyable game. I would have liked some way to push away or hit the birds, but it's a good game.
@baluj Thanks! I would have liked a way to hit them by dashing. Very sensible suggestion. For now only the 'magic' made it in. You can use that to deterr them for a bit.
There’s definitely room to grow in terms of visuals and gameplay, but it plays quite arcadey — I like it. Overall, well done!
it's fun! audio is nice. sometimes it felt like a bit of a losing battle getting enough acorns, but felt good when I finally collected enough!
Not too bad! I had trouble fending off the crows, for a while it seemed easier just to feed them than to try to do anything else, though that's probably because I didn't get how the magic worked (I remembered "press shift" but it didn't do anything whenever I tried, apparently I wasn't holding an acorn). Some on-screen "press shift to activate magic" when holding an acorn and a crow was nearby would have been really helpful to deal with my poor reading comprehension . Sound and music were nice!
Great mood, but could use more depth in gameplay. Something like, crow repelling totems, throwing things in crows, etc.
Mwa ha ha ha ha! I gathered the acorns to summon Beelzebub!

Perfect for the Ludum Dare Theme and perfect for just this time of year!
Great game! I love the art and I love the mechanic. Also like that Godot was used. I need to start using that engine more. =)
Truly cursed. In a beautiful way, the game has strong aura. The music really ties it all together. Really cool :v:
Really cute!! Any game with squirrels and crows gets an A+ in my book. I really like the animation for filling up the magic symbol.
I like the graphics a lot, the individual sprites are very detailed and nice looking (especially the crow.) I think you might find it could pay off to focus on stylistic cohesion of graphics, like making sure everything has the same color scheme, style of outline, etc. which could really help tie the game together visually a bit more.
It's awesome that you recorded real-life objects outside for the sound effects. Recording random things to make sound effects is honestly one of my favorite parts of the Ludum Dare experience, lol.
