Hmm, how do you play? Cant figure it out.
I found 10 objects! I am not sure if that's was it.
- The image being larger than the screen is a bit clunky, it was slow to explore the border, where most of the navigation to the next area was, and when you get to a room you have already be, coming back is not immediate (since you can't see the portal again). It was not always obvious where was the way back as well. - bug: The object reappears in the fields when you come back to the house. - I like the red hint for the portals - The art is really good. - It cruelly lacks music or sound for an exploration game. - Nice to have the editor embedded in the game. Was it built during the jam?
You have linked you ld57 github, if you update it I'll come back and star the repository
interesting, i feel like i did well, found all i could but nothing else happened, and i couldn't go home
@dhim thanks for playing. The images being larger than the screen didn't work out as I thought. At least the navigation is not optimal sadly. If you have a larger screen there's less scrolling.
I made the editor from scratch and spent too much time on it, more than 1/3 of the time... I had thought it would be quicker to set up, but I had not sketched out how I was going to build it. Though, it was really nice to have when putting things together in the last hour.
The music was blocked by some Cross origin policy. Fixed that one. It's now working on the LDJam site too :)
@soloadventurergames thanks for playing. It's not clear how to return home indeed, especially on smaller screens. You can find the back arrow button on the map view (left top) and then in the left bottom corner there's an arrow.
I'll update my vote for the music then!
I have started collecting entries backed up by github! I have also collected a few tricks to make the repos shinier across my ld participation
---
I have created badges that you can use to decorate your README:
``` Ludum Dare Ludum Dare 58 - Compo Ludum Dare 58 - Jam Ludum Dare 58 - Extra ```
Screenshot 2025-10-06 at 08.35.40.png
Consider using these **topics** on your github description to make your Ludum Dare entry more discoverable: - `game` - `game-development` - `ludum-dare` - `ludumdare` - `ludumdare58` - `ludum-dare-58` - `ld58`
You can also use your cover art for the ```Social preview``` image in the repository ```Settings```
**Make your repo public** and I'll add your repository to a list of ld58 compo:
(Also, I am on a quest to have a repo reach 10 stars. If you play my game, consider [leaving a star on my repo](https://github.com/dhmmasson/tilesCollector) as well.)
Very good hidden object game. The visuals are beautiful for something made in such a short time, and the music is lovely too. A nice relaxing little game.
I enjoyed this, it has some great old-school adventure game vibes. I found all the objects, and it was nice how every object had just a little more detail than the environments, but still blended well with the scene.
My main feedback would be to add more navigation cues. Something like having the cursor change, or having the red outlines/arrows change color when you hover over them. That would make it a bit more intuitive to navigate from place to place.
Pretty awesome that you made your own editor for the game, was it all just using JavaScript / TypeScript?
I was so impressed with the art! the ghost was my favourite made me smile finding her teddy. Game itself actually reminded me a bit of classic club penguin spy missions, I have no idea if that is something others saw. But yeah this was a great execution of the theme
good vibe, nice graphics. interesting to explore the map by hovering on the edge of screen, but sometimes feels annoying.
What an interesting game. Even though it's simple.
Congratulations!
I like the ghost. Thats a simple, but cute puzzle. I felt a bit lost though as to what to do until I figured out how to get back to the old man. He then just offered to buy everything and it ended.
Cute and well made game! I loved the graphics, and the music was great too. Moving the camera around in the browser (I was using Chrome) felt a bit clunky, though. Great entry!
It was a nice and peaceful experience overall! I enjoyed the point & click/hidden items gameplay, and it has the vibes of fun flash games I remember spending a ton of time playing.
Agreed with the other folks about the scrolling causing some trouble... I think overall navigation could be improved a little. Some ideas: - Smaller scenes with click-to-navigate (instead of scrolling to find the navigation zones) - "Back" button to return to the previous place - Minimap to give a sense of direction & where you are
Overall, great work on making an art-focused game! It was a nice experience playing it.
Fun little exploration game. A little bit short, it would've been nice to see a few longer trade quests like the ghost one, but overall I enjoyed the art. The music was a bit repetitive but it didn't bother me too much. I do agree that the bigger images than the screen were a bit clunky, but nothing that I couldn't work around. Good job!
Nic artstyle. Too bad the big enviro wasn't scaling to my 2K screen.
The art is nice and the ghost quest was heart warming. Cool that you build the whole system.
I mean, it's just a stunning game with a nice, simple game loop!
It could be improved upon by having something more than just collecting the items—perhaps incorporating a different interaction, like the ghost mechanic you mentioned. But we all worked under the time constraint! Keep it up!
