Controls are pretty strange, whether I had ammo felt really inconsistent. The character is also difficult to control. However, I do like the art style, and it really feels like its on the right track!

@rorybabory There is a text that indicates the amount of ammo that you have. When you shoot more than 100 bullets, you need to wait 2 seconds to reload.

Nice job! There are some spawn bugs, and the game is so fast that sometimes I can't see enemy bullets. But it works smoothly and dynamically. The boss design is very good. What engine did you use to develop the game?

@torte478 The answer is none. I just used python and pygame, a graphics library. I fixed the spawn bugs and i added some polish when you kill the boss.

Download the v1.1 version to play without those bugs.

First of all, it's good practice to load screenshots to see how game looks like :)

I like the dynamics of this game, it's very fast and it's good. It will be nice to make level longer by distance and run it with this high speed

The game looked nice and the boss fight was cool. However there were several minor things that I think held this game back.

1. The movement is too fast (movement *can* be this fast, but the rest of the game needs to be designed to accommodate that). 2. As others have mentioned, spawns are a bit broken. I would spawn sometimes and just fall off the edge. 3. If playing optimally, there's no point in fighting the snails instead of just running straight for the portal. If you're not supposed to fight those ones, that can be doable too, but I would recommend making the levels take a bit longer to get through so there's some sort of build up to the boss fight.

The boss fight was definitely the highlight of the game and the movement speed was quite fun for that level (although still a bit too fast in my opinion).

There were some other smaller issues as well: 1. Projectiles were hard to see since they were so similar to the background color. Usually dangerous things contrast well with the background for visibility. In ideal situations, you'd dedicate a color to dangerous things so the player can immediately identify that something is dangerous (usually red is used for this). 2. The counter for ammo should probably count down to show how much is remaining instead of how much you've used. 3. Reloading should probably have either a clear visual or audio signal (if there is one, I missed it). 4. The levels could use more detail. There was lots of unused space. 5. The snails were crawling off the edge.

Anyways, this is still pretty good work for your first game jam. Nice job!

The game feels like Dendy or Sega games! Got some nostalgy (despite I'm too young to play those games xD) Feels like Mariao But the movemnt is too fast. It was hard for me to control a mailman/ And it was not obvious how to use the gun)) But in general it was fun :)

It is very easy to do it with Markdown) 3. Btw, I played your game because of a blog post begging to play the game. Jump isn't floaty like a lot of game jam platformer style games. Levels were also very well designed. Great job!

I can't get the game to play as in the trailer, if I click LMB to shoot, it shoots but also zooms a lot, making it near impossible to aim. ¿Could be something about specs incompatibility?

(After checking again, it only happens with the last version, cool game, I played older versions)

fun fast-paced game, although maybe pace is a bit unbalanced between player and the camera, so feels kinda shaky. also the zoom when shooting adds to this shakiness, makes difficult to aim. another thing I noticed: the enemies projectiles are almost unnoticeable so it took me avail to understand why I get damage xD.

I have played again both versions and beat the boss in the v1.1.

Really cool, but enemy bullets need more contrast with the background, sometimes I can't see what hits me. Having an outline in the enemy bullet sprites should do wonders.

The polish is a nice idea, the problem is that sometimes it looks like this when I shoot. gj.png

For some reason, it is not well centered, and in some directions I can't even see myself when I'm shooting (I still have to dodge)

Kinda easy to just rush through the levels (at least at first). Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but on level 4, I keep spawning outside of the map and perpetually falling (without ever respawning). Fun while it lasted, though

@nature-pixels I meant it was fun before I got stuck outside of the map -- thanks for letting me know about the bug fixes. Was able to get to the end this time, and it was much better. Kept dying during the boss fight, and I don't know why, but that was probably my fault haha. Great game!

really think dafluffypotato covered the issues really well. My main issue was that the snails didn't prove to be much of an obstacle. Liked the consistent graphics & the SFX fit nicely. Impressive this was made with no engine. I actually did like the high speed, that along with the ability to fire so quick gave a fun gamefeel.

I think the game needs some tuning. The player could jump over every obstacle and skip to the end. So I think the player needs a bit more weight to it. Also, the snails have a very big health bar. Making the snails easier to kill, would encourage the player to interact with them more. As it is now, the snails are frustrating to kill because it takes so much time to do.

You could change the gun to have a smaller magazine, but each bullet is a lot stronger. This way it requires the player to more skillfully shoot the snails. I think this would feel more satisfying when you do land a hit.

After you tune the player and enemies, you can start to work on the level design. I'd start by trying to make some fun platforming. Then sprinkle in some enemies to increase the challenge.

But you did make a complete game with a boss fight. The whole game ran smoothly and I didn't run into any bugs. That's pretty impressive for any jam game, especially a compo.

Joguei! Eu não entendi muito bem. Passei as fases sem saber como (disconfio que era porque as lesmas caíram no buraco). Quando uso a arma a tela fica dando zoom e eu não consigo entender o que está acontecendo. Continue o trabalho duro. Parabéns pelo trabalho! :)

Nice idea and very good game. Even though I faced some issues with the snail boss, the whole experience was very pleasant. I liked the aesthetics of the game a lot!

Interesting game. Pace was a bit too fast for me: I had trouble reacting to incoming fire and completing jumps. But a good effort, well done!

This is nice, and it's an impressive amount of work for 48 hours, but it feels far too short. The levels are all nearly identical and can be beaten in about three seconds with minimal effort. I didn't need to shoot until I got to the final boss, and when I did it took me a moment to figure out how to actually do that. It seems like you have an inventory and can press 1-5 to switch items, but you only have one item - the gun - so it's ultimately a pointless feature. (I assume you intended to add other items but ran out of time?) Also, sometimes you spawn off to the left of the level and just fall endlessly until the game decides to respawn you in the right place.

There's the makings of a good game here, but it's not quite there yet. It needs expanding upon in order to fulfil its true potential.

This game is pretty cool! The speed of the gameplay feels pretty fast, and the bullets are quite hard to see on the background, but the core movement is solid. A lot of the levels feel the same, since you can usually just do one jump left or right to complete them. But I definitely think there's an interesting core here. Nice job!
