How do i play it?
@nature-pixels WASD to move around, left click attack
@soloadventurergames but how do i execute the code?
@nature-Pixels Download the zip, unzip, launch OOHHHH you're looking at the git hub link, right above that on this page is the download
I found the download. i downloaded the game!
Nice atmosphere despite the simplistic graphics. Didn't realize at first you could sprint with the shift key. Even then, I wasn't sure what to do when the zombies got fast enough to overtake me. You're right that advancing is better than fighting them, but it might be nice if there were other ways to evade them, like juking them. It was pretty exciting to try to get away from them, though. I managed to get to a purple thing at the opposite corner of the map before dying.
Awesome menu. I think its got too hard and becauce of that unfun. Also restart button not working
@asasin56 dang it, I had a panic at the last minute to get the scenes all lined up, probably missed a line during
Gosh the zombies do get fast after a while, ha ha. I like the atmospheric lighting and music. I had a little trouble using WASD with shift - though to be fair this is due in part to a long-ago hand injury.
Congrats on completing your first jam game!
@holdmeimscared yeaaahh... i made their final speed boost for the fact that if you hold any 2 none opposite directions at once (W&D) for example your speed gets to 10 and the zombies can hit 11, I wanted to prevent abuse of the system but forgot people probably wouldn't figure it out lol
edit: also thank you, it was a ton of fun.
The combat felt clunky. The looping music was annoying, and movement felt sluggish.
Hard one. Very good graphics
Congratulations on completing your first jam game! I must say, it's a very impressive entry.
The ambiance, music, and sound effects are all amazing, and really add to the overall atmosphere. Those slow zombies were quite amusing, although things got a bit more intense when they started running like professional athletes
I had a good laugh at that! All in all, I had a lot of fun playing your game. You did a great job!

Overall a nice game, the attack mechanic is a bit clunky but you can work around it. I've never been so scared in my life by a lightning-fast zombie. Good Job!

Comments are fixed thanks @josemwarrior @clemall and @zSharpFire
edit: and to the anonymous, eh it is what it is
@soloadventurergames They were a spammer.
@pov :cry:
@soloadventurergames Ah.. I'm so sorry, the interface was not working, I tried couple of time but couldn't see my message... dman I will try to find a way to delete the duplicates. So sorry :sob:
Good first effort :).
Did not manage to get to the other side of the map. Not sure where to go. But really cool atmosphere with the fog and the music. I like what you came up with. I want a bit more oof in the effect around the hitting. I never knew if I connected or not.
I like the fog! The game is very ambitious, and quite difficult. Nice job!
@kreshi Thanks its my first complete game.
@tinykidtoo it was supposed to be dungeon crawler esc, no matter what way you go though there should be a boost of some kind (though I noticed one of the HP boosts is broken) Left, Up, Right, up, Left across the park, up, left up are the directions. There is a one hit power weapon directly opposite spawn, that one shots zombies
@jminor thanks the fog was a last minute addition for ambiance.
The lighting and fog effects gave it a pretty cool ambience - weirdly I think the tones of the music might have undermined what could have felt a lot spookier/scarier, but a lighter vibe might have been what you were going for! The "feel" of attacking zombies wasn't quite punchy enough, I would have liked the animation to have a faster "swing" (even if the overall animation time is unaffected). Other than that, cool idea, and welcome to the game jam world!
@adam-gould yeah I wasn't happy with the swings ( or any of the animations really... save the climb one that one is fun) if i had more time I would have added more animations and cleaned them up a bit, if I had done Jam maybe.
Great job on your first entry. Dang those zombies get fast!
@cavedens thanks, this jam was a lot of fun and I'm already looking forward to the next one, also yeeeaaaahhh... i wish i could go in and slow them down just a hair, downside to having made the game, I know all the things.
Sounds like an important delivery, but I wasn't able to make it. Hopefully everyone survived.
One risk with games like this is that I almost never know where to go. The instruction of "across town" doesn't really help me that much, and I find the fixed camera angle makes it difficult to see what directions might be promising. Consider using some kind of lighting or signage for a diagetic/in-world direction for player to go, unless exploration is key part of the gameplay.
@defrag I had originally intented to use the street lamps as an indicator but got ahead of myself and before i knew it they were everywhere, in the last hour I wanted to add an arrow above the players head that would point towards the next destination but all my animations broke and had to scramble to fix them, if I ever update the game I'll be sure to add it in
Oh no I think I made it all the way? and it tried to load something but it crashed :sob: I went all round with the mallet, through the park and just walked past a barrier when it crashed, If you don;t think it was the game I'll have another go. heres screenshot of where it froze if that helps

@rickylee you made it to the end, It looks like you're using the web version (which was a literal last minute thing so I'm not surprised it broke a bit)
Good job on your first LD! I liked the music and the graphics were decent. I like that the zombies come running if you ignore them. :D Caught me off guard at first. It was a bit too hard for me but I'm not very good at these types of games. xD Overall it's a good entry!
Neat little game, like the atmosphere of it, the music and graphics combined gave out a nice feel to it, a kind of mysterious horror style. Can't ignore those nasty little zombies~ At the start walking speed felt a bit slow, but later on it feels right somehow. Lovely entry overall!
@remus thank you for playing im glad you enjoyed it even if it was a bit hard.
@svenerik thanks for playing , yeah i don't know how the walk speed worked out like that but usually by the time i hit the first intersection it feels good
Really nice game! The graphics were awesome - I loved all the effects, lights and animations (especially the zombies crawling out of the manhole animation!). The zombies speeding up after a while was also a neat twist. I somehow managed to get out-of-bounds after getting the hammer, which allowed me to skip a part of the game (I think), but I still lost :( Nevertheless, the hammer was really fun to use! The movement speed of the player felt a bit too slow for me even when running, and I sometimes lost health multiple times from a single zombie, but other than that, great entry!
I'm not good at this game haha, I had fun though! I did not really know what 'the other side' would be, so I started walking, never got very far though, the zombees are fast indeed!
Pretty impressive for a first Compo entry! Its definitely a challenging game but it was fun beating up te zombies. Some nice graphical effects as well!
Not bad for a first entry! Hope to see you return and make more in the future. Improving each time you do ludum dare is all that matters :D
+ I didn't like that attacking was determined by the characters facing/ movement direction, especially since it was bound to a mouse button, I think it would be better to have the character attack in the direction of the mouse + The fast zombies were interesting, but the way you take damage when you touch them not so much. I think it could be pretty satisfying if you could dodge the super fast zombies without taking damage and watch them go zoom past you.
Interesting game. I like the lighting, although its a bit too dark in places (especially with the small WebGL window). Well done.
@frogman im glad you enjoyed it, I didn't worry tooooo much about making the level airtight so the little slips out of bounds are expected
@wouter52 fun is the important part of it all  I did intend to add an arrow that would point you in a direction towards the end but ran out of time, a lot of people got lost I think lol
@fargred thank you, I've dabbled once or twice with unity in the past but nothing near this complex.
@blue-pin-studio Im already super excited for Septembers jam :exclamation:
@ellaris the original plan was to have the character look at the mouse position but i freaked out because the camera was also attached to the player so it would just spin endlessly, If i had just used an empty object and put the player inside it I could have fixed that but hindsight is 2020, the damage works on a timer, the first hit is immediate and then every ... 5 (i think) seconds you take another hit.
@wevel the webGL was a literal last minute addition and broke a few things that are set up in the zipped version, camera scale and UI scale chief among them.
