Nice job! Nice potential of more interesting and interactive puzzles!
lovely stuff! one of your best yet. Killer audio and mood specifically. Yes, the game is hard, but it is the type of game that you want to keep playing as it is compelling.
Moody
Funny game! I liked it!
Its a really interesting story, i like it!! this visual and audio style make a scared atmosphere, u did a very good job
Really enjoyed the atmosphere! The black, white, and red color palette was a great choice, giving the game a tense and creepy vibe. The pixel art is well done, and the audio really pulls you in, making everything feel even more unsettling. The one-hit death mechanic adds to the challenge, and the puzzles keep you hooked. Great work!
I like how you managed to kep suspence in a game created in such a short period of time. The only thing that bothered me was the return to desktop on ESC :sweat: Had to replay firt coupe of levels thre times :laughing:
@sviborg really glad you enjoyed the graphics, I had been working on improving them recently and trying to do more with less.
@xlores-liang Thanks for playing. I would have loved to get some deeper puzzles in there and its something I'm going to continue working on for the post Jam.
@designernap Thank you sir.
@shakirovich Thanks for playing, I'll take that as its what I was going for :D
@flojiq I bundled the majority of the last few hours of the jam. I'm glad people liked it. Thanks for taking the time to look at it.
@nazariglez Thanks very much for playing. Glad you liked it!
@tetrergeru I quickly managed to get a variety of enemies that helped add to the suspense, I think it all came together when I got the song in towards the end. I'm also sorry about the ESC, its something I just add to my jams without thinking about it. Maybe its time to have a more considered approach to exit. Thank you for playing it!
Fantastic entry! Very rare to see a good horror game in ludum and you pulled it off really well. The atmosphere and mood are executed great. Good pacing, moody music, and great level design. Nice job!
I really liked the feeling and the vibes that it gives! Great Job!
I dont normally play horror games but I really enjoyable this one, well done on a solid entry.
Hey this is cool, I do think the bugs should move faster they felt a little too easy (I may be biased because my game has notoriously fast bugs). Atmosphere was good and the pixel art was also on point. Nicely done!
Spooky! Great job!
It's a very interesting game, I liked how you implemented the theme. The atmosphere in the game is wonderful)
I really enjoyed this, and the almost puzzle-like approach to survival horror. Really nice use of theme and great vibe overall.
I think it could actually have been made a little harder though, as I didn't feel like I was ever actually in any danger.
After making the antidote I went back and started healing people before realizing they turn right back and my efforts were in vain :upside_down:
Great game! I really love the graphics and the sounds!! Maybe a little slow, but it feel more stressful x)
@dingbat Hey thanks for the feedback, I've always wanted to go full horror for one of my jams and I'm glad I finally got to have a go :smile:
@iustinian Thanks for playing it!
@lakea Thank you. Hopefully it will convince you to play more :stuck_out_tongue:
@frostbeak I was worried about the crawlers moving to quickly because of the one-hit death. I kind of wanted them there a a threat rather than a full blown problem for the player to overcome. Thanks for the feedback and for playing :smile:
@deantwotwo Thanks for playing!
@karamelika22 I'm glad you took the time to give it a try. Thanks for the comments :smile:
@fint I actually scaled the difficulty back a little because of my testers, maybe I need some better ones next time. As for the healing, there was two ideas floating that I didnt have time to implement. One was I would give the player a different ending depending on how many characters they healed and then they would be persistently healed too. Another was to teach the heal mechanics and then use them in the boss fight in that end room before I cut to credits. But I ran out of time :sob: . I think I do want to implement a boss at the end in a post-jam version when I have fully recovered. Thanks for the great feedback.
@stormsword Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I wanted to keep it slow to increase the tension, maybe there was something I could have done more to balance the pacing a little better so it didnt feel as slow.
I will get to looking at your games in the coming days. Thanks :smile:
Really good, was a bit surprised to see it was in the Compo and not Jam category. Music was really good at setting the mood. The vaccine mini-game did a good job of breaking up the gameplay a bit. Was a bit disappointed when I went to the previous areas to save people only to find them re-infected when I left and came back.
@unpronounceable haha I’m sorry about that bit. I wanted to get a full save mechanic in and have it as one of two different endings. I also wanted to end on a boss fight. I fully ran out of time and was scrambling to have it just make sense in the last couple of hours. It’s something I’m going to try to implement for a post jam update after I’ve played Silent Hill 2 :sweat_smile:
Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing.
Nice and suspenseful! Simple graphics but they work well and are cohesive, great music track fitting the mood. Really nice to have the little minigame for the antidote as well to mix things up. I appreciate the checkpoints so deaths weren't too frustrating.
This is excellent. It's clear a lot of thought went into the level design, and I think the music was great at setting the mood. It was a little too easy for me, but I don't think it's possible to satisfy everybody on that front. The door numbers were pretty forgettable, and I would have liked if they were color-coded or something.
Creepy game with an unusual aesthetic. I really like it. The main idea is very clever and reminds me of some old movies like The Thing or The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I guess that you was inspired by its classical movies. Great work. Nice entry ++
Wow, I wasn’t expecting that twist with the fall at the end! The mood and vibe throughout are fantastic, and it was a great entry overall. I could see how the level design guides the narrative beats, especially with the way you introduce players to the encounters and teach them to use the antidote. Just when I thought I could escape, the fall added a great surprise. Nice job!
This game is awesome! I like the creepy vibe, the music and the sound effects are great, the graphics look very good with the minimalist color palette. The story and the gameplay also felt very good The game feels very polished, great work!
@silkworm-sweatshop Thanks for playing, I needed the checkpoints in as I knew it would be a pain to have the players play it all again. I'm glad they helped :smile:
@henk I'm a level designer in my day job so it was actually nice to focus on some in a gamejam for once rather than it being one small space. As for the doors, I tried with little dots on the keycards to do something to help with it but I think the color approach would have been the better solution. I always worry about the accessibility if I start using colors so tried something different, I guess I just need to make it clear first. Thanks for playing :smile:
@geckoo1337 The Thing is one of my favorite movies, I wanted to the small creatures to be used as the essence for the horror. Thanks for playing! :smile:
@foursay The fall at the end was a last minute thing because I didn't have an ending, I really wanted to do a boss fight but ran out of time. It was really nice to do some level design to drive the story this time. Thank you for taking your time to play it! :smile:
@lebossmax2 I'm so glad the creepy came through, I think the music and sound does a lot of the heavy lifting and I'm so happy with them. Thanks so much for playing :smile:
