It's fun, and a nice idea, but it's way too slow! My attention span doesn't allow for too many rounds, I don't know if the game ever ends.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD54 → Too Many Marbles

A well made game, kind of like 4-player cribbage which I imagine could be fun with friends. But I agree with @catusfelony, my ADHD brain can't handle the speed. Maybe a bit more friction, or a "if speed < threshold, stop" stopping system. Regardless a really complete entry for 3 days!
I like the idea to play with friends. I do felt a bit bored quite quickly because the time between rounds take so long.
The game loop is a little slow, but I did really enjoy the gameplay and your use of the theme. The sounds of the balls hitting each other are also very satisfying.
The only other feedback I can think to give other than the game loop being too slow is that it might help to assign the colours of the players/computers balls to their text as well, so you can keep track of who's marbles to target / which colour is playing next.
I expect meh game but it is good in term of gameplay but not very innovative. Could have used some relaxing cafe music. feels too dead silent
surprisingly quite fun and seems unique, the graphics are solid, but it could be improved by making things feel a bit faster as switching from player to computer felt slow as it took a while for the ball to stop being classed as moving, also adding maybe background music could help with the mood
nice entry. As someone who made a semi phsyics based game, I appreciate the difficulty here in balance! :D I will echo the comments above about speed and audio, but a nice idea. Well done.
nice and calm game, simple rules and great mechanics, you did a great thing!!
I think that reducing opponents down to 1, and making their turn faster would make the game feel significantly better to play, as it is now you get to play for 3 seconds and then you have to wait 45 seconds to be able to play again.
this is a very relaxing game, i enjoyed taking my time to line up shots. as the first player in a round there aren't many possibilities to act strategically - more (and faster) rounds before the circle shrinks would be nice for more back-and-forth :) i do love the idea of local multiplayer on the same keyboard, it's been a while since i played a game like that, and it does remind me of the games i grew up with!
I liked the sound effects but no music makes the gameplay feel slow. The gameplay holds up I just think there are some gaps between the exciting parts. The physics and controls were great. Congrats on a solid entry!
It's a good entry! With a few improvements, the game should be great! It also makes me want to make a similar game.
The game was nice, I admit that the rounds were a bit slow and the graphics could be better. However, the principal is really really good, and reminds me of "pétanque", and if improved could be really great.
I like that the game is multiplayer, but you have to wait way too long between turns. I also think the last player in the round gets a big advantage if you calculate score there.
balance is a bit off, antimatter is kind of OP
Game is super slow, taking a ton of time between turns. It's also super unbalanced. Since scores are tallied after every round the last player in the round has a giant advantage. There's also the problem of selecting a ball from a random selection. When there is a ball where it can't be moved once it's placed, then there is no more interaction with that marble for the rest of the match. Things like that kind of ruin the experience for me.
I had fun playing for a bit, until I realized there were two more rounds to go. In the settings, I was expecting to be able to change the number of rounds (3 to 5 as an option). I really enjoyed the physics of it all, but I couldn't figure out why I could never shoot a metal ball into the circle. I don't know if it would've helped or even been possible, but pressing spacebar could possibly increase the deltaTime(???), so that the game wouldn't crawl when the ball inches forward.
Some soft mellow music definitely would've helped pass the time better as well. Parotting @phillips-albright's comment, but I'd also add "The player with the higher score should go first in the following round" so that other players can catch up by knocking the first player's marbles out. Also, a marble pool, could've been cool, where all players are choosing from the same marbles.
This is a really cool entry, I'm curious if you'll keep working on it.
Fun concept but wish the rounds were faster, was feeling a bit slow between turns
The idea is interesting, however the execution is rather player-unfriendly. And I don't talk about the wait time (not only).
It's rather disconcerting to be welcomed by a wall of text. There could be better way to communicate the controls ("left: move ball to left" is rather redundant, on top of that). In this situation, you either force yourself to read and understand, or you don't bother even if it means missing some info.
And well, the overall description is... dry. Games usually have stories even (especially?) for the most basic gameplay in order to engage the player. Not that every game needs story and lore, and the simplicity of pushing balls is enough, but the way you describe it... it's straightforward, but focus only on the technical side, like a boring instruction manual you don't really read. Heck, the title might be the most quirky aspect.
It's a shame, because the gameplay seems really interesting. I like the idea of selecting a different ball like a choice between random drawn cards.
I got the impression you especially worked on how it works: the physics, the computers. Not much on the graphics (except the 3D balls). It looks to me like a prototype with bare interface, waiting for the final assets. Mention of using a *slider* to choose the number of players (well, it is not that unsettling, but very unusual).
Tied first with computer 3 but still got a game over, sad times.
I think other comments have said most of what I had in mind. The game is interesting but quite dry and horribly slow. I feel like the aiming arrow is shorter than it should be and it makes aiming annoying, especially when trying to aim from the sides. Random ball selection with different weight makes it hard to be consistent with your throws, but it is probably on purpose. I would have preferred the option to choose a "weight family" at the beginning and then have a consistent weight among the random selection.
All that being said, congrats on you jam!
Very nice game! It's a bit slow, otherwise super fun!
Cool game but as others have said felt a little on the slow side. maybe if all the players shot marbles all at the same time.
I like it, seems like a traditional representation of marbles, and the ui is clean, for the most part. I like the spinning UI! I feel like it takes too long for marbles to reach a stop, though.
