really enjoyable feel to the game. Really has a nice mood and touch. Once I collected my first orb it was on!

kuboi 2025-04-09 09:29

@brian-russell Thank you for the kind words, glad you enjoyed the game!:)

Played on my laptop without a mouse so don't have a great score. But felt really nice the movement with the music as well, very relaxing game. Liked it a lot!

gerswick 2025-04-10 11:08

It was an awesome experience. It's really simple yet so much fun. The movement feels smooth and the difficulty scaling on point. The sound design also really makes you feel like you're in space and the music, especially after the drop, is really bangin hard. Being able to track both score and time also is a nice touch. The visuals feel coherent and smooth too. Thank you!

bene-labs 2025-04-10 11:34

Cool game with a really nice atmoshpere and great sound design! Gameplay was very enjoyable too.

I would give the obstacles a red glow, as the yellow glow made me think I had to collect them as well. Other than that, great job!

kuboi 2025-04-10 11:57

@bene-labs Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!:) I agree that the obstacles should be more distinguishable from the collectables, that's something I will work on in the future for sure.

dreo 2025-04-10 12:10

Cool! I liked it. Really enjoyed the moment when everything started shaking and the music changed – it really felt like things just got serious.

A quite simple, but addictive game. The core mechanic (orbital physics) is in my opinion for that kind of game quite unique. An actual well build small game. Congratulations!

ping78 2025-04-10 18:47

Nice game, enjoyed the atmosphere, smooth movement and music was nice too, especially onece it kicked in. Good job.

trevor-lentz 2025-04-11 06:06

The sounds/music were perfect for the game. The little sound when hitting the rocks is just the best. Extra like for the little frog who's been spaghettified into eternity.

scoobysnacks 2025-04-11 09:48

at first a thought you suppose to defend the blackhole from the asteroids, it felt good to kick them away

kuboi 2025-04-11 12:35

@scoobysnacks I agree! I was thinking about where to take the game after the jam and the 'kicking' of asteroids is really fun so I should definitely explore that more as a mechanic:)

nicknickolas 2025-04-11 16:25

I liked it, kinda funny (because of the hitting sounds) and relaxing at the same time.

drsmey 2025-04-11 16:46

Very fun game. At some point, the gravity got so strong I could hardly catch any more fuel without loosing more than I gain, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Overall just a very solid game.

kuboi 2025-04-11 17:25

@nicknickolas Thank you, that was exactly what I was going for!:D

@drsmey Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed the game! Saving the fuel as much as possible is the main skill expression of the game!:) If you come back and play again, try to use the black hole to your advantage by flying close to it and using it's pull for velocity while only tapping the acceleration to steady yourself :rocket:

minigor 2025-04-11 18:08

Nice. But do not turn up the music volume during or after the game.

kuboi 2025-04-11 18:51

@minigor Thank you for the feedback! I made the volume of the song in the last part of the game a bit higher for dramatic effect to raise the intensity, but looking back I might've overdone it a bit, sorry about that :frog:

aldenwitt 2025-04-11 23:13

Fun little game! I liked the sfx and overall feel. I can see where you might expand on this.

nomus 2025-04-12 02:40

I got spaghettified Particles gets a bit too overwhelming when you cross the 40 mark but overall this was fun !

flying-butter-studio 2025-04-12 06:00

32 for me! Very cool game: simple and effective! I didn't realize right away that the black hole was growing. When I did notice it, I was much less relaxed. Good job!

verttixpertti 2025-04-12 06:08

I love the idea of the black hole being in the middle and the player having to avoid it. I do have some improvement ideas however. Firstly I think that maybe instead of going after the scorepoints, you would just have to survive as long as possible. Secondly I think there should be some visual indicator at the edge of the screen of objects that are approaching. And my biggest change would maybe be to not have the asteroids deal damage to the player, cause I think it's not that fun to die to an asteroid instead of the black hole, but have the asteroids just be physical bodies that push the player towards the hole. I think that could maybe be more fun. But the fact I typed this much means the game was very fun, so nice job!

kuboi 2025-04-12 09:43

@aldenwitt @flying-butter-studio Thank you, glad you enjoyed my little game!:)

@nomus Thank you! The particles do get a bit much in the later stages, you're right, might have to tone them down a bit after the jam:)

@verttixpertti Thank you for the feedback! All these suggestions are great, I'm writing them down for the future. The no health thing especially as the more people I gave my game for testing the more I am thinking about removing the health altogether, because everyone really likes bumping into the asteroids so I think it shouldn't be discouraged by the health aspect. Might have to rework this after the jam:) Glad you had fun!

verbante 2025-04-12 11:48

Error The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing: WebGL2 - Check web browser configuration and hardware support :(( ima download it don't worry

betovf 2025-04-12 11:55

Nice entry! I really like the game mechanics and the music (specially when it changes ). Well done!

My humble score:

verbante 2025-04-12 11:59

Good: Mouse controls, vibes, and slight gravity of the black hole! Best: DOING effect!!!

You can add color or scale curves to particles to make them disappear seamlessly. Had fun playing it, love space science making it into games.

leparlon 2025-04-12 12:33

Fun little game! The controls feel really satisfying. I laughed at the sound when the rocket hits a meteor, it’s great. I didn’t really like the start menu though, it took me a moment to figure out how to actually start the game haha.

youcarryoats 2025-04-12 14:18

We love a jam entry that's simple and engaging like this. Pretty to look at, sufficiently goofy sfx, nice ambiance, really good stuff! Wish I had more critical feedback to help out with but I'm coming up short

leorean 2025-04-12 14:29

Such a simple, yet amazing relaxing soundtrack, combined with the echoed "DONK" sounds, it creates a soothing atmosphere

clintor24 2025-04-12 14:29

Great concept! It's simple, but compelling. My only feedback is that it felt almost too easy. It's a very fair game in that it allows you a lot of wiggle room, even when the intensity picks up.

tiar 2025-04-12 15:25

I love the "You got spaghettified" game over text! I feel like the controls could've been snappier/easier to use, but I guess that was the point. It looks really good, and it's a cool concept, especially with the increasing gravity. I was only wondering what score should I give you for the Theme because I *feel* like space is deep by default (evokes similar feelings like deep ocean or deep underground) but I *think* it's not. Decided to go with the higher score though. Really nice entry, good job!

wetburritosupreme 2025-04-12 18:50

Oh my gosh, what a pleasure to play! The simple start and audio lured me into a false sense of security, unprepared for the challenge! The art and tunes really added. I think this is my fave I've played so far!

bea 2025-04-12 18:55

yooooooo! this kicks ass! I was really enjoying the tight and kind a mellow gameplay and then the music kicked in for the bigger part and it was crazy! This is such a neat vibey concept and I love how it scales variable its working with from the start to create an interesting challenge! Nice Work!

adamsmccall 2025-04-12 20:14

Fun game :) I wish there would have been more space to move around the blackhole, because at some point you can just stay on one side and wait for bonuses to come your way instead of actively trying to retrieve what you want. But thats just a detail, the concept is really well executed, well done !

skyeward 2025-04-12 20:37

This is a fun game, like the music vibes and the sfx generally add a lot to it. Adding gravity into these movement mechanics is a fun twist and I liked that I could recover health and fuel by picking them up to.

kuboi 2025-04-13 11:17

@verbante Glad you got it working in the end and enjoyed it:)

@leparlon Thank you! Yea I was trying to be extra with the menu, but probably would be better to just have a simple PLAY button instead:D

@clintor24 I originally made it harder, but I nerfed it for the jam just so people can play it and get to the 'good part' without having to rage and spend 20 minutes replaying haha. But yes, after the jam I plan on making the game harder or maybe adding a hard mode or something, I agree that once you get the hang of it it can get quite easy as it is now.

@tiar Thank you for the feedback! For the theme I was thinking about the space being deep + the 'infinite' depths of the black hole. But I do agree that after playing quite a few entries by now there are quite a few games that fit the theme much better:)

@adamsmccall Thank you for the feedback! Yea I agree that once you grasp the controls and the game logic, you can just stay in the corner and wait, I should add more incentive to move around. Glad you enjoyed the game!:)

To everyone else not mentioned: Thank you so much for all the feedback!:)

xparker 2025-04-15 17:17

Cool game entry. Similar concept to what we built in [LDJam 54](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/54/s-p-a-c-e-ships-projectiles-and-collisions-everywhere).

My hightscore:

designernap 2025-04-16 10:28

Really enjoyed this. Lovely chill audio, death sound is awesome! love the feel of changing direction on thrust and the mental math of accepting damage for health to prevent the black hole expanding. Solid work.

hexstart 2025-04-19 11:59

Good stuff there! I love how it ramps up after the black hole gets big enough - you really made it an awesome moment ^^

zelberor 2025-04-20 20:16

I like the mechanics. Easy to learn, hard to master 👍

kuboi 2025-04-22 10:02

@xparker Oh yea that is very similar, I guess it's true that great minds think alike haha

@hexstart Thank you for saying that, means a lot! I really tried hard to make the moment significant even with the little time I had left to do so as I was implementing it close to the deadline:D Great score btw, one of the best I've seen so far, good job!:)

@designernap @zelberor Thank you!:)

empyreans 2025-04-22 16:39

Very fun game with sweet graphics and sound design (the "bonk" when you hit asteroids  )

also us being an astrofrogonaut :frog: is an instant win

I found mechanics easy to understand and difficulty is fair. Game does depends mostly on random and as gravitational pull got stronger I was sticking to the right half of the screen to avoid getting hit by asteroids if I try to cross to the other side, but eventually I ran out of luck on fuel.

I wish it gave a bit more info to see what's coming, I think the best solution would be to add a small UI hint on the edge of the screen for when something is approaching as that would help massively to calculate your next decision and gave it a nice touch with strategic thinking as just waiting around for something useful to spawn does sometimes feel hopeless and takes the skill factor out of it as even if you saw something appear now on the other side you simply wouldn't have time to reach it and by the time you do - something useful could spawn on the side you just left.

Great game!

coyotethursday 2025-04-23 05:44

The sound design here was great, I loved how the serenity of the score near the beginning gave way to the higher-energy track once the black hole hit its maximum size. The gameplay was also really enjoyable, I had a lot of fun sling-shotting myself around the black hole without falling it and I thought the controls worked very well for what you were trying to achieve.

troloze 2025-04-23 22:05

I wish you would keep a bit more momentum when you stopped accelerating, but other than that I loved the concept. I loved the death sound, it is delightful.
