Perfectly complex for a jam game, and with a better atmosphere i see this becoming something bigger. Anyway congratulations, u made a great game!

sevatoxin 2025-04-07 19:38

Great puzzle mystery game! The statue puzzle was my favorite because it had a logic in it. With some more music, sound effects when something was solved and some backstory this game would be a great mystery puzzle. Normally I don't play these type of games but it was a great jam game. Really enjoyed my time with it.

tugaryn 2025-04-07 19:42

Unfortunately on the web the camera is very jerky I just keep getting jerked somewhere, I've gotten stuck a couple times I also lost a gear.) The puzzle is interesting to poke at different places. but I would like more responsiveness from the world around and convenient control. well done

First of all, the style and mood of this game is fantastic. It feels quite cohesive for a 3D game made in only 2 days. It's really cool! The visual style is really cool, and I'm a huge sucker for the lower res textures in 3d environment style. I think with more lighting, fog, and other things it could be perfect!

I noticed that there were some parts of the level where you have some meshes fighting sorting (basically weird artifacting with two meshes directly on top of each other) which usually you can fix by taking one of those meshes and slightly offsetting it. I think main places were on the wall to the right of the clockwork heart cage, and on the floor right inside the clockwork heart cage.

Moments like finding all the statues and discovering the chest felt great! I think maybe you could lean into those moments by having something visual or audio happen when those things are discovered (I'm thinking like in the newer open world Zelda games when you discover new dungeons how a little jingle plays and a text thing appears when you discover them)

I got to the very end of the game I think, and I struggled to find the solution. I also ended up softlocking myself I think by accidentally placing two statues on the same area and then not being able to pick up the others.

Overall great job! I hope I can loop back around to try it again to find the final solution!

@sevatoxin Definitely wish I could have added some more lore, I had a handful of notes planned to discover, but ran out of time. Glad you liked it though, especially if it's not your usually game to play!

@tugaryn Did you try changing the camera sensitivity at all? It might have helped with the jerkiness, not sure

@straightupgruntled Thanks for the feedback! I enjoyed making the game and will probably touch it up a bit post jam to add the stuff I had to cut, so that's all really helpful - I'll have to experiment with the statues a bit, I never ended up in a situation with 2 on one pedestal so didn't catch that bug lol. Glad you liked it!

straightupgruntled 2025-04-08 03:59

It was really great! Excited to try it out post jam with the touch ups you do. The world building is really great, and some of the puzzles, while simple, made me think and felt really satisfying to solve!

adam-gallina 2025-04-08 04:12

@straightupgruntled will let you know if I post any improvements to it, definitely let me know if you do anything with your game post jam too, I really liked the direction it was going :)

bearcage 2025-04-08 04:27

This was a fun one! I got a little stuck a couple times, but in the grand tradition of point-and-click adventure I just needed to do some good old fashioned pixel hunting. I particularly liked the gear puzzles! Default sensitivity was a little high for me, and I wish the inventory menu closed on leftclick, just to save the extra tab press.

Thanks for sharing your game!

kiv 2025-04-08 04:30

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the game. The puzzles are fun to solve. Pretty solid entry for Compo, congrads!

k1n 2025-04-08 04:49

I like the way game involves me, good job

blue-pin-studio 2025-04-08 07:08

Pretty cool entry! I couldn't figure out which order to put the statues in after trying a few different ways. I guess the puzzle went over my head. But i had a good time with the parts i played!

olsonexi 2025-04-08 07:57

Really well done. The puzzle was really tricky, even *with* hints on. I really love the graphics/aesthetic. Would have been nice if there were some music. There are a couple of spots where you have to be a bit careful about order of operations, or you can get yourself stuck and have to restart. Also for some reason looking around with the mouse is completely broken in firefox, the camera just looks up and spins rapidly regardless of what the sensitivity is set to. It works fine on chromium-based browsers (e.g. chrome, edge) though.

Edit: it's only actually broken on firefox on linux. Firefox on windows works fine.

adam-gallina 2025-04-09 04:04

@olsonexi where'd you get stuck? I tried to remove any softlocks but might've missed smth. Would also have liked to make some music for it, but didn't have time

yvanor 2025-04-09 08:49

Very nice game !

The atmosphere is well done, and the puzzle solving feels great, I had to think a bit but I never got really stuck. (My favorite is the statue one).

Thank you and good work !

olsonexi 2025-04-09 18:37

@adam-gallina I think what happened was in the room with the gear machine, I put the tiny gear inside the machine and couldn't get it back out again.

phlip45 2025-04-09 21:50

Really good job with the graphics for a compo. The sheer amount of assets, the little cutscene animation when you press play, all the descriptions of items. Great! I think just a pinch ambient music would have really brought out some more flavor. If you haven't messed around with music much I highly recommend beepbox.co or Bosca Ceoil. As an example I spent 10 minutes and threw together this little thing which would probably fit pretty well here I think: https://tinyurl.com/ClockworkHeartSampleMusic

I'm no musician but it isn't too hard to slap down a few things and play around til you get something that is pretty okay. Obviously if you just ran out of time that is entirely understandable too haha! This may be my favorite compo game I've played thus far! Great Job!

nimbushead 2025-04-10 02:49

Nice puzzle game. I'm getting some strange behavior. When I place certain things, I can't see them, but I can pick them back up. I got stumped in the room with the machines with gears.

jver422 2025-04-10 17:42

very fun, I love escape rooms. seems like you had some trouble with colliders on the exit after opening the way to the heart. there was also a few interactable I could get through walls like the first statue and one of the doors.

googlypoo 2025-04-11 01:50

I loved this! Escape rooms are super fun and this one is well done. I liked being able to swap the gears for different operations. The statue puzzle was awesome, too. Great job

mgear 2025-04-11 07:06

Probably the first puzzle game here that was easy to get started without reading docs or getting stuck figuring it out!

adam-gallina 2025-04-12 02:08

@olsonexi I'll have to check that out, thanks!

@phlip45 thanks! I haven't gone too deeply into music creation, but I might have to take a look at that tool for the next jam, that track sounds awesome!

@nimbushead Do you remember which objects were disappearing by chance/where you put them?

@jver422 Yeah, I realized right at the end that the interaction raycast wasn't blocked by walls and didn't have time to fix it, you can probably sequence break the game pretty badly with it lol

artel 2025-04-12 20:21

The 3D environment looks great!

wisstopher 2025-04-12 22:05

Really cool entry to the jam, loved all the puzzles and how they connected and just the general progression through the levels. The art was wonderful and makes me really need to start making things in blender. I just wish there was a bit more story to it, but with how well you did everything else it wasn't missing that much. Super impressed!

nimbushead 2025-04-13 03:21

@adam-gallina I think it was the large and medium gears on the big machine and maybe on the door to the thing that you need to find a handle for

adam-gallina 2025-04-13 19:44

@wisstopher Glad you liked it, would have loved to add some story elements but ran out of time past the first note. Definitely worth picking up blender, I think it only took around 4-5 hours total for all the models with them being pretty low-poly

henk 2025-04-15 21:28

Quite complete for a compo game! The statues made me think something crazy was going to happen when I grabbed the heart, but the game just ended :P

I noticed three bugs: 1. Some of the walls have z-fighting issues (pointed out by others) 2. The shelves in one of the rooms had no collision on them, so I could walk straight inside them 3. Somehow by the end I ended up with extra copies of two of the statues. I was in the secret bookshelf hallway when I apparently reached through the wall just behind the bookshelf door to pick them up

I didn't notice any issues with the camera, even though I'm also using firefox on linux (and intel integrated graphics). I played via the itch.io link.

budster16 2025-04-17 19:00

took me a sec and I had to restart because I lost a gear through a wall but after the restart I figured it out and had a good time.

hardegggames 2025-04-19 18:15

Great game here! The puzzles were nice and simple (except the statues one which confused me a little bit at first). The visuals are impressive for a compo. I found a few bugs like more codes to input on the ground of the bedroom and sometimes I couldn't walk across bridges. Besides the bugs and the lack of some audio, I think this is a very solid entry. Fun puzzles!

designernap 2025-04-20 06:56

This is great. One of the most "Complete" games I have played. GREAT puzzle flow and design, some really nice touches, I love the statues tell the story and had be intrigued enough to play through to the end. Can't offer much criticism other than I didn't realise the green engine was making the main gate door open till the end and maybe add a sound for when an item hasn't worked, but these are VERY minor things. Great entry here, really nice work.

koalabear 2025-04-23 17:29

Nice a refreshing puzzle game well done
