If you have problems starting the game on win10 or win8.1 please change the native resolution before starting to something not FullHD! There seems to be a little unity bug there!

cyriaque 2018-12-03 22:16

A lovely design, the begining is a bit confusing because of the text that are a bit too fast and the fact that you "auto pick" a package is a bit problematic when there is another on your way.

Anyway, congrats to the team

youkool 2018-12-03 22:16

A good entry! Some clunkiness gets in the way of the gameplay and a bit more clarity on the freezing effect would be nice. However it's a nice concept, the theme is perfectly well respected and I loved the graphics at first sight. It's a shame there's only so few models else it would have been a 5 for graphics.

angelnm 2018-12-03 22:34

Very cool art style!! Good one but I have a problem with the packages change, sometimes disappear or is impossible go through without changing many times of package.

slizzben 2018-12-04 08:37

Cool idea, cool design! Greate job :)

jk5000 2018-12-04 09:37

A interesting little game, with a great atmosphere. Well done.

isaque-picao-sanches 2018-12-04 10:34

very cool

spigaru 2018-12-04 11:10

Thank you very much @spigaru @jk5000 @slizzben @youkool @cyriaque @angelnm Also thanks very much for the good feedbacks!

captaincorgistan 2018-12-04 12:22

Wow! Nice linear graphics! Looks Stylish some kind of jam-frostpunk! Good Job!

amigopadilha 2018-12-04 13:04

Great game, enjoyed a lot playing it!

Awesome job!

ece 2018-12-04 13:13

graphics are really good and polished, I liked the audio/ sound design although there wasnt a spesific melody or music etc. Natural campfire sounds, bird sounds etc they were all effective on the mood. I liked the concept/idea too, as you need to sacrifice some gifts. Texts and interaction and conversation between the character and the houses were really cute. For me it was a relaxing game, I really enjoyed it

blanky 2018-12-04 18:03

I like the art work, the snow sound effect and fire sound added to the mood. Nice entry.

hydezeke 2018-12-04 18:15

The visual aesthetic is top notch in my book. I really really liked it.

I wasn't entirely sold on the idea (the houses you deliver to have smoke coming out of the chimneys- why can't you stay warm that way?) and there weren't very apparent consequences for burning the packages (so it didn't feel like a real sacrifice).

kszaku 2018-12-04 18:36

Your game has the bes graphics I've seen through this jam, so good job on that! I like your idea - it fits theme nicely. Audio is okay.

pablodap 2018-12-04 20:07

Really really great graphics!!!

seed42 2018-12-04 20:50

i guess thats the inner struggle of every deliverymen around christmas (deliver or burn - deliver or burn :P)

really like the graphics and the feel of the game

would be nice if you wouldn't automatically pick up packages when you walk over them - always had to go back to pick them up again or change my route

skodone 2018-12-04 22:20

@ece @blanky @kszaku thank you very much we recorded all of the audio during the jam! You are hearing my footsteps in the snow and our office oven :P Only the brids i recorded in the summer somewhere else.

@seed42 @pablodap also thanks so much for the praise of the graphics! Brian will be very happy to hear that!

jantaaa 2018-12-05 00:42

Beautiful graphics, nice design. In a window, numbers on packages are barelly visible. Freezing mechanic is cool, but I often do not recognize, that I should go get to the fire. And the setting is quite nice :)

recursor 2018-12-05 01:29

The art style is beautiful and the sound is great. My only critique is I wish the little guy didn't drop the package he was carrying as soon as you run over another one. I found myself zooming out to find the correct house only to inadvertently pick up a different package and having to readjust what I was doing. Otherwise, this is some excellent work.

paul-p1 2018-12-05 08:04

I really like the aesthetic you picked here! also, the idea was really cool

designernap 2018-12-05 10:39

Lovely visuals and tone here. Great stuff. Auto picking up packages and collision can be a bit frustrating but overall it was great. Lovely work.

xarona 2018-12-05 17:59

Very nice idea, but it annoyed me that when you come near to a package, you just exchange it without being asked for whatever you are holding, so I was swapping packages without even wanting to all the time. I like the graphics style and the game in general though!

simon-parzer 2018-12-06 00:01

I like the idea and the art style! I also suspect the other people using their gifts to keep the fire going. See the smoke coming out of the chimneys? ;)

zanagi 2018-12-06 05:37

Enjoyed this game! Some feedback to the player would've been nice (after delivering the package, burning the package, also maybe an icon to indicate where they're currently moving to=

icxon 2018-12-06 08:28

I wish the train was real  And there is something demonic about burning Santa's letters... I love it.

Here is my attempt:

skodone 2018-12-06 09:26

haha @simon-parzer yes that could totally be true! @icxon yes... unfortunately we ran out of time for quite some ideas :D thanks so much for the lets play!

firebug 2018-12-07 18:45

A very charming entry! In my first round playing it, I found myself confused on how the game works, because the text moved too quickly for me to read and I didn't realize that running across a package will swap it out with the one I'm holding, or automatically chuck it into the fire if I bump into the fire. Once I had that figured out, it ran smoothly! Adorable art as well, snowy white background and gentle, friendly lines.

hadik 2018-12-09 18:15

Pros: - Nicely fit into theme (also christmas theme :) ) - I like that simple hand drawed graphics - Simple but fun and working game mechanics

Cons: - Too fast tutorial message, I can't read that :D - Some optional navigation to delivery target or minimap will be good, becuase for the first time I wanering around only. After few plays I know where every house is (Okay my fault, I not read everythink, right mouse click :D )

Overall: I think you made very polished game. Everythink fits OK :) Graphics is nice to look :). Game mechanics is fun. So I think this LD you will recieve nice score.

skodone 2018-12-10 06:56

Thanks very much @hadik and @firebug greatly appreciated!

esosek 2018-12-10 08:48

Cool concept but I find it not fun after a while. It propably takes too long to freeze. Awesome graphics with fire changing. Great submission for ludum dare for sure. Cheers and keep up the great work :)

krzymsky 2018-12-10 12:40

Love the artstyle, the contrast between environment and the bonfire is very atmospheric.

fobia 2018-12-10 17:13

What a cute style!!

kciwsolb 2018-12-13 15:56

Just as others have already said, the lack of color in everything except the fire is great! The environment feels genuinely cold and dead. The title is also very apt.

skodone 2018-12-13 21:22

Haha thanks a lot @kciwsolb the title was a bit of an insider thing actually :D
